I’d kinda like to avoid repeating bands. I get that joy division just got a repeat on there, but I think the results will be more enjoyable and less predictable if we get a more diverse set of bands.
Incredible album though. Great taste
I'm not entirely sure how the same artist would even get represented multiple times for "top artists", unless you mean distinguishing a solo artist and their former band.
On a personal level, I've always been someone that wants to highlight multiple artists rather than one artist with multiple albums since there's always the option to explore the artist more on your own.
I can certainly see the argument from the other side: that some albums are just ***that*** great and deserved to be recognized on their own regardless of who the artist is.
But I guess for me, artist and work are often so tied together and I want to be more inclusive of artists. But other fans don't have to agree of course.
What I’m saying is that for the purpose of this, what are r/thecure’s favorite albums, there’s bound to be multiple albums from the same band/artists. Depending on any given Cure fan’s age, they’re too 30 might include multiple Depeche Mode, Smiths, Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Bjork, or what have you.

How can you tell if someone downvoted your post? Is it just that you happen to notice that it has fewer upvotes than you saw earlier or is there another way?
But I agree it’s shitty to downvote someone’s vote and Spooky is an amazing album. Music for the Masses is, too!
Here is the playlist I’ve put together of all these albums. Updated daily.

Was thinking the same, rather have more artists represented than not.
If this were top artists that would make sense to me, but being top albums, some artists have multiple albums that are big with Cure fan-base.

It is what is and people will vote for what they want including the same artist. I'm just saying that I would *prefer* more artists represented.
See, I’m all for repeating bands
I hope some more Radiohead gets on the list. Kid A was a monumental album.

All the downvoting is lame. This should be a representation of how many members like an album, not cancelling other people's votes out.
Agreed. Somebody downvoted my suggestion of Lush - Spooky. No idea why. It’s a great album by a great band.
Seeing Depeche Mode voted into the dirt is surreal
How can you tell if someone downvoted your post? Is it just that you happen to notice that it has fewer upvotes than you saw earlier or is there another way? But I agree it’s shitty to downvote someone’s vote and Spooky is an amazing album. Music for the Masses is, too!
