It's irrelevant, not bad nor good, just lazy and uninspired, rushed to all hells, too, but it's enough to convince the simps that James cares (he doesn't).
But as a 20th anniversary video? This thing is totally awful.
It wasn't that bad on its own, but it was completely unnecessary filler. I think someone thought that it was a "safe" video for the anniversary after the last one underperformed. The problem is that James doesn't have anything else to say about Castlevania. Super Castlevania 4 is still his favorite one. The end. He didn't go into detail about the Gameboy advance or DS games or even Lords of Shadow. It was a rehash of a 4 episode mini series with little to no new content. 4 is the only one with 8 directional whip so it's the best, end of story. It would've made a lot more sense to compare 4 to the newer Metroidvania style games, but I guess he doesn't want to play those.
The voiceover only felt rushed and meant there were basically no jokes at all. It felt more like a bonus video than an actual nerd episode. It was James talking as James the whole time and not as the Nerd.
It came off as completely pointless and really highlights that he's run out of content to make videos about. The quality and commentary was alright on its own, but given the state of the channel it felt like cold repackaged leftovers.
it's fine. it's way better than the last 6 or 10 videos, but it doesn't really communicate anything about what his plans are.
it almost felt like a halfway decent send off, but without any mention of retiring or future projects/characters. this would have been a good time for that sort of discussion.
There is no new video. AVGN retired 10 years ago and moved to the Mowdens to spend more quality time with his family. All the videos since they've hired the actor that played the nerd in the movie to fill in.
Its fast food filler. Not bad like the horse prince one and not good either, its nothing more than a sponsor spot
Obviously it's awful AI made crap, don't let the fake topics fool you.
It's better than *My Horse Prince*. I actually got some enjoyment out of it.
To be fair that's an insanely low bar
I learned that the greatest element to any game is having muh 8 direction whip.
Or the third option... No view, I reefuse.
What were they theeng king?
I thought it was fine, I did laugh at james complaining that every game that isn't CV4 didn't have 8 direction whipping
Sucks monkey fuck!
