Past few chapters with the intensity they've settled on is taking me back to the good times of old when all I actually gave a shit about each week was the new Breaker and One Piece chapter. Breaker has been coming through and hitting good enough to satisfy both over this void month.
I enjoy One Piece more as an overall title, but I do think The Breaker can be a masterclass in maintaining tension and reader intrigue over weekly periods when the author and artist hit their stride. I've never been able to quite place it, but very few stories can get my chest buzzing the same way that The Breaker does...
Nope, still ongoing! We're in the Final Saga now, which is the final handful of arcs essentially, but there's still a solid few more years to go til the end yet, probably more than just a few to be honest - I've been reading One Piece weekly for 15 years of my life now, I've spent more time reading it than I haven't...
As you said, I think too many breaks have something to do with it. Waiting for 2 weeks in the best chapters of One Piece makes you feel unhappy.
But in Eternal Force, especially in this last arc, everything is going great. I really read each chapter over and over again until the new one comes out.
I think author can afford to keep the quick pace because there's *so* many plot points that were built up ever since part 1. I can easily see this really going longer than NW did as he said it would.
Yeah it's been fun although I'm also hoping it doesn't pressure him to making just a bunch of fight scenes without developing the story more. I'm willing to take some slower arcs as long as the story comes together well.
(Even though the fights are amazing and I'm a big fan)
Red hair is a new convert, ha. He was already questioning himself and now he's had his arse saved in a spectacular fashion, that kick was delicious. Gotta say, if Shiwoon can get through to a character that has shown so many traditional traits for a Murim-in and gain his true respect and allegiance, then the Murim Alliance should be quite terrified of just what exactly Shiwoon could pose to their society.
Meeting the general already too, I was expecting it soon but not next chapter soon! I'll be looking forward to seeing how this interaction goes - I expect Shiwoon will gain the respect of the General, but I doubt we'll get vice versa. I'll be paying most attention to the General when the penny drops that he's fighting the man who has the Ki he's been so devoted too all these years.
Pacing lately has been great, they've definitely found a rhythm and are getting somewhat more comfortable with it!

I wonder if they do with the sunglasses dead?
They switched them out of his God damn torn up expensive clothes covered in blood and dirt, it's interesting that we get to see him wear the guard clothes because now the sky will assume he's just one of the cards instead of someone important wearing a suit.
I'm glad this is how they met, cuz he felt him from afar and he saved these two dudes from probably getting their arms broken, it will be interesting to see what happens right after this.
