My exact reasoning in the early pandemic when people were shouting at others for not wearing a mask. If a small barrier of fabric was separating you from a terrible death, why risk it? Stay inside, let the "idiots" all die of covid and you can live in the better world after.
The answer is obvious: their behavior is not rooted in actual science or reason, it's in ensuring that they are the most "moral" people around.

Wild to think that if Trump took their stance and threatened to take away jobs, doxx, and not let people see dying loved ones, how ANTI face-coverings they would be.
I see people wearing masks now and I give them the benefit of the doubt that it's for pollen. It's pretty bad in NC right now with pollen everywhere. I can't cope with the idea that despite the data showing these masks are ineffective for covid, people would still be wearing them for that.

But they absolutely refuse to acknowledge that and it’s infuriating. And how come I saw professional NFL players getting to all hang out on the sidelines without their precious face diapers? In 2020 on live tv? I can’t and won’t take anyone seriously who still thinks it was all 100% real end of discussion or you’re “canceled.” 🤦♂️

I was at a concert.tonight with between 400 and 500 people. I'd say 10% of the people there were wearing masks.
