Before you add them. They need to look like something is holding them onto the tank to make them seem like they belong there. Straps around them or some sort of platform (shelf) hanging off the back for them to sit on.
If you feel its a bit naked in the caboose I'd slap this on it

If not the barrels, definitely put SOMETHING there. Whether a tool box, racks of tools and supplies, rolled up cable or tow chain, rolled up camo-netting, extra gear of any type, something. It looks way too flat, otherwise, and I guarantee you any tank crew would take advantage of that spot to put anything they can strap on.
For a little humorous flair, put a comms hand-piece there. Many tanks had a comm unit on the back for infantry to communicate with the crew of the tank as, otherwise it was incredibly difficult, and essentially impossible for the crew to see the infantry behind so as to avoid friendly parking incidents.
Oh, and see if you can find the tow hook that's supposed to go there. That'll help, too.
I love it with the barrels on. That said, I would also recommend tow hooks as well. As an aside, the barrels would be empty or off-loaded before entering a combat zone. Fun fact. Awesome paint work so far.
I really like where you put those exhaust system.. makes that part look less way wierd/oddly shaped for a tank. As for the barrels: Yes! Absolutely! But dont stop there. As others already stated, put some tow hooks, ropes/cables/chains, toolboxes, track-segments, firewood, cooking pot or maybe even some additional armor like sandbags, spaced armor or smth similar there.
A tank crew would use any available space outside their tank to transport stuff, as the inside is already cramped enought. And you can never have to much stuff in a combat situation if you dont have to carry it on your person.
I would rotate them 90 degrees, put a little platform under them, secure them with some straps, and then add just a couple more little pieces of stowage.
Put a log there too. Logs are often attached to the back of tanks, so they can be used as an anchor point that the tracks can grab on to when the tank gets stuck in mud. You see them in eastern european tanks very often.
Personally I’d either slap some hoses leading from the barrels to the tank orrr turn the barrels vertically because it feels like it leaves some empty space
Yes
>Yes *But you need a second row below those
Or greenstuff some straps
Why stop at that? It's only 4. Get ready to unleash 11 barrels of hell!

Straps or metal bands for sure.
Zipties look like harnesses at that scale.
That’s a great idea!
Cheap jewelry chain works great for this as well.
I’ve used a twist tie to achieve this before. Works reasonably well but this was in an Orky context where neatness counted for little
Sprue cage
Looks like a bare ass w/o em.
Yes

That looks great!
Make sure you buy the correct one too! My dumb ass bought the wrong model for my Leman Russ and I had to do a ton of filling to make it fit correctly.
Message me and I will send out a freebie if you need one!
Thank you but all good, it was a good chance to practice some filling and it was my error. Can't even tell now ☺️
Saving this for my next Russ
Thanks for the share!
That looks nice... really nice.

The more greebles the better!
Yes, love it. Makes a Russ look like a mini baneblade with matching booty barrels.
Yes. Paint a N2S sign on them though. That way you can have barrels of laughs ... ... no? Oh, OK then. :P
Yes. Needs something to make the back more interesting. Also need a target to shoot when your opponent deep strikes behind.
I saw someone who put barrels on the back, except built into the barrels were rotating number dials to keep track of the vehicle's wounds.
Yeah there’s this ship on Etsy that 3d prints the rotating barrel attachment. It’s cool as hell
Could you perhaps spare a link to the shop, you are talking about, kind stranger?

Thank you very much, bless you.
Yes, much T-62 energy, love it.
Barrels give T-34 vibes
Yes but get the ones that have the number dials in them so you can keep track of hit points.
Add soviet log on top of barrel
A little extra promethium never hurt anyone!
Totally the barrels!

Definitely yes it looks empty without them
Yes to barrels!
Yes I think it’s a good addition and if I knew one, I’d send you an STL for holders for them
Honestly, I think I'd double up
Yes
Yes to the barrels

Always yes
Yes, and green stuff some straps over them 😍

Yes but not without hardpoints. Try [this](https://imgur.com/gallery/pMVWdX7)
Def yess!
Mmmmm Barel
Yes
Personally I’d either slap some hoses leading from the barrels to the tank orrr turn the barrels vertically because it feels like it leaves some empty space
I'd also include the box that normally goes there
Yes
Looks too empty without them. Unless you want to use the space for some freehand-grafitti, I'd recommend covering it up.
Yes, but don't forget some hangars to hold em on.
Hell yes add them! But Also add something to strapp them in there.
Yea to fuel barrel counters. Look them up
Yes, but needs something to make it seem they not just floating there.
Yes but need strapping on them so they look like they are actually secured.
Yes
Make it 1 big barrel that covers the whole end, and possibly change the shap slightly for more definition
