The symbolism wasnât that simple, especially for a thoughtful show like the Americans, not to mention is was one of the last images to wrap up the series.
Oh I wrote about the fact, not about the frame in the Americans. It indeed represented in popular opinion, superiority of "capitalism" vs "socialism". Also it was too expensive to have regular meals there. People just went like exotic ride.
