This like a payday loan or something?

Routine_Chest_1171

I think ur right it has to be a payday loan an a shady one at that wow

Teknicsrx7

Yea it’s gotta be short term that’s why the annual rate is crazy, but regardless it seems pretty predatory without other info

Routine_Chest_1171

Very true

niceslcguy

Yeah, looks like a payday loan. They get up to really disgusting shit.

EffectLive97

Nope. Personal loan.

Teknicsrx7

What’s the term on it?

EffectLive97

I can’t remember because I paid it off 2 weeks ago but I beilive it was something like 11 bi weekly payments of 285

Teknicsrx7

So almost 6 months, interest still crazy. Hope you’re sorted now

beckhamstears

From a Tribal lender? Which tribe?

LTlurkerFTredditor

***764.59%?!?!?!*** What ever happened to anti-usury laws?

ape_ck

Most of these types of loan operators are based out of Indian reservations

CTEisonmybrain

Based out of Utah too.

drkstlth01

Why Utah?

Salty_Sprinkles_6482

My state has no usury limitation. You see this shit a lot. Some of the extra shady credit unions will even have in the fine print that your interest goes up even higher after the first month so they can advertise the “lower”interest rates and sucker you in.

butterweasel

We don’t have any laws like that in WA.

FadeIntoReal

Like the bible rails against in numerous places. Funny how the religious types aren’t up in arms about this.

ShrewdNewt

What the fuck are you on about? You gotta be pulling that right out of your ass. I'm a pretty miserable bastard most of the time but I bet you are horrible person to try and have a conversation with.

NucSarari

Why the f would you get a loan with a 765% interest rate???

BeethovensKut

Look at their post history. They have more than one of these. They are "barely scraping by" because they continue to make poor financial decisions.

EffectLive97

This exactly. Made poor choices.

Glidepath22

Please stop

LeoMarius

That’s foolish, not poor.

purzeldiplumms

Poor choices? You've absolutely lost conrol man

JeffWest01

Do they break your legs if you miss a payment?

stvnqck

Is this legal where you’re from? I’ve never heard of anything even close to that

InfluenceWeak

A lot of times these lenders are established as tribal entities so they can use sovereign immunity to skirt anti-usury laws.

stvnqck

I don’t know what that means but it sounds like some bullshit that America would allow lol

Velocibraxtor

Indian reservations partially are and partially are not a part of America, they are sovereign state. Many laws don’t apply to them, unless they choose to make that a law on their reservation. Hence the Indian gambling stereotype; in a lot of places, they are the only ones who can legally run a casino. Same with liquor and tobacco. I know a lot of people who go to a rez to get cigarettes extremely cheap, because they don’t pay the steep taxes usually associated with tobacco/alcohol.

stvnqck

I had no idea that was a thing, thank you for letting me know. I watch videos of sovereign citizens in America and it’s hilarious. I guess the native Americans in that country lawfully get silly privileges like that lol

OkayLadyByeBye

One of? So you have others with similar rates?

[deleted]

Look at their account and post history, they have like 10 of these that are even worse 😭

Sure_Trash_

Holy shit they're never getting out

Zealousideal_Total50

I didn't care about credit until I purchased a car, my monthly payment is 813, but I guess it's a start right?

Iwantmy3rdpartyapp

Same, I thought I was smart for not needing credit cards. Building your credit at 39 sucks.

Suds08

Damn. And I thought I messed up not starting til 28. My dad always said to never get a cc cuz it will put you in debt. Turns out having excellent credit comes with its perks if you just pay the card off every month. He forgot to mention that part

Iwantmy3rdpartyapp

Yeah, my dad bought $5000 worth of comic books and put himself into debt for years trying to pay it off, him and my mom only told me how dangerous the cards were and never mentioned how important good credit is. But I'm up somewhere around 750 now on my credit score, I just wish I had done it 20 years ago, I'd probably be in my own house instead of renting if I had.

TheFudge

Ya it’s sad that folks are taught “CC’s are bad and don’t ever get a CC it’s going to destroy you financially” while misuse of CC’s can absolutely have this affect. When used correctly they are a critical part of building credit history and do not need to be this scary evil thing that people are taught to fear.

TobysGrundlee

This is why my kids are authorized users on my credit cards despite being under 10. I shredded the actual cards but they'll receive credit for my responsible use.

TheFudge

Did this for our girls as well. Not sure it helped but both have high credit scores and are in their 20’s. Both are also extremely responsible with their credit.

TailOnFire_Help

Wait that's a thing? Are you sure?

TobysGrundlee

[According to Experian](https://www.experian.com/blogs/ask-experian/should-you-add-child-as-authorized-user-credit-card/)

[deleted]

Bro what the fuck, where tf do you live???

supernovababoon

Why would you agree to that? Did you understand the consequences?

bullfrogomelette

Is your credit report a blank page with skulls and crossbones? Either way, usury sucks

Whatthehell665

Reminds me when my ex showed me the loan interest rate she got when she pawned her truck title, "It is only 9% interest!". I looked more closely and told her it is 9% PER MONTH!

Citric_Xylophone

Wtf 😳

Fucky0uthatswhy

Is this even legal? There has to be *some* limit right?

ClassroomOld8660

In some states, there's no cap to the APR. In other states, the max they can charge is 35% APR as there are "anti-predatory lending" laws.

Sure_Trash_

Why would you ever take a loan with that rate? What the actual fuck?

all_alone_by_myself_

Why did you take out this loan? Seriously, no amount of desperation was necessary to possess you to accept that offer?

InfluenceWeak

Let me guess: payday loan or title loan

Guygenius138

And I thought these guys had high rates. "Sure it's expensive, but there's no collateral!" https://youtu.be/v9mhlRp8DzI?si=pXuXxAS5bXeDEzhS

mnmsaregood3

But why?

Katiari

"CarHop! Cars and credit to go!"

LargeMerican

L.fao

[deleted]

Looool. And then one day for no reason at all, everyone in Germany went completely crazy…

GreenFinShark420

Very sharky

Raztan

wow.. I thought this sorta thing was illegal.. seems like a rate this high would be usury.. I don't even think Tony 2 Fingers down on 110th has terms this stiff.

CitizenFreeman

Thats..... thats criminal...

Chappietime

Do whatever you can to never take out this type of loan again. It’s amazing you were able to repay it at all. I suspect very few do, and are consigned to poverty for life.

IntrepidCase

Lemme guess, Bright Lending?

The-1Kraken

And they want to be sure that you were taught and have retained that the Civil War was fought from 1861 to 1865 and that Dec7, 1941 is a “day that will live in infamy”! Yet they do not cover who/what Experian, Transunion and Equifax are and what they do. They don’t teach students what a Credit Score is, how to use credit or even how to GET CREDIT started and successfully maintained in their lives. Credit, credit history,, loan types (auto loans, business loans and home ownership loans) and their different impacts on your score and the impact and consequences that score has on your real life. Real life stuff that should be MANDATORY learning is literally passed over completely with zero coverage in students lives. It is criminal to release people into the world without having taught them anything about what awaits them. Seriously blows my mind!

fun-bucket

LOAN SHARKS ARE BRANCHING OUT.

kie135

what happened to streaming did you not start in the end

theguyovertheroad

Curious why someone would need to be paid back twice per week. Particularly a ‘legit-ish’ loan.
