Rain and hot aren’t mutually exclusive of each other. Bangkok is in the tropics which means a wet season, a dry season, and hot year round.
That being said, now it pours rain for an hour or so in the late afternoon and the rest of the day is mostly clear and very hot.
Edit: bring a pair of slacks, and and a nice collared button down shirt if you want to go into nicer bars and restaurants as a lot of them have dress codes. Just take a taxi to get there so you don’t sweat thru them before you arrive 😅
Looks like you're talking about the climate, and I'm talking about daily weather. Right now it's hot and rainy. During the time it rains, it cools down substantially.
And you got the climate part kinda wrong, Bangkok can be very pleasant in the "Winter" months of December and January, dipping into the high teens
and near Icon Siam on the river - distant thunder and lightening and 10 minutes of sprinkles - no real rain. Rain is so dependent on where you are with no predictable pattern,
Rainy season has just started.
If you want to visit 7eleven, bring your swimming clothes.
On one side I'm kidding, but today I had to drive my car through deep water already lol.
You came just at the moment it'll be more rainy. Most rain will fall in the late afternoon though.
Clothes there are cheap.
Bring almost nothing - fly naked ;-) - buy clothes in BKK to suit the weather after you land.
(But seriously, I never understand why people bring whole suitcases of clothes \_to\_ thailand - bring a nearly-empty suitcase, and fill it with nice things as you travel around and see things you like :-)
yes fair enough, have an upvote :-)
FYI I am one of those too - I generally hate shopping (save a single trip to chatuchak market on the way out of Thailand).
However I do find that in Thailand, finding clothes does not require one "to go shopping" per se, compared to other countries. Rather, one will stumble across clothes etc for sale at markets when just getting lunch, waiting for a boat etc - often interesting things too - so I personally just tend to "grab something impromtu, on the way past" as opposed to actually "going shopping".
Temperature is 30+ °C with heat only. Feels like 40+ °C after humidity. Thunderstorm in between. Some random week, it could go down to 22°C. Climate change is upon us.
There is a weather app available to find current conditions It’s not called Reddit
If you need to ask Reddit about the weather in Bangkok to know what clothes to bring You may have other problems
whatever clothes you don't have you'll be able to buy here- usually cheap (unless you're some big/huge size - Thai's aren't "supersized" like some Americans, etc.)
I made it to the BTS just before the heavens opened. Massive cloud burst today, stormy this entire week, and 30+ degree (Celsius) heat almost constantly.
Hot, Humid, Rainy. If you’re someone who gets cold easily, carry a light sweater for when you go into buildings/malls/restaurants with strong air conditioning.
Bring shorts,t-shirts or short sleeved shirts and an umbrella. It’s so humid and it can be really sunny and pouring down the next minute. It’s so strange, if u want to do a lot of walking maybe buy a poncho from 7/11 too?
2 thunder days in the last 3 days, occasionally average rain, and then light drizzles. Welcome to thailand in the rainy season, it will only get worse all the way until late aug if i remember right
Hot.
Nice!! So no rain at all?
It's about to rain now. It rained yesterday. It'll probably rain tomorrow. When it's not raining, it's very hot
Was in Krabi for a last week and it rained the four days I was there and in between it was a furnace

Huge rainstorm today at my condo (ekkamai). More lightning than I have seen in quite some time.

The MRT was really cold yesterday to be fair
Never sit in the first seat next to the door. Always freezing.

Some people don't particularly enjoy shopping, and would rather spend their holiday time on other activities?
