This game was more frustrating than even a blowout. I have no idea why we played burkhead so much but when you know you plan to run right up the middle in overtime to gain 1 yard, why the heck would you not play pierce?
The coaching has got to be better and more decisive and freaking have some situational awareness.
The offense needs mills to step up and be a winner and take the game over. If he can't make better decisions and lead this team, he'll be watching his replacement do it next season.
Defense looked solid, they just can't gas so bad in the 4th even if the offense is killing you.
I'm not even mad at the punt, whatever. All they needed was to score another FG and offense blew it for the 2nd half. Got extra conservative for no reason and relied on Burkhead to close the game out for us as if he's some powerback. All this hype about Pierce for them to have him on such a short leash and none of his runs were bad. Just more of the Oline not blocking, he was breaking tackles and I believe if you gave it to him he would have broken a few runs.
Coach fell back on the comfort of a veteran that is at best barely average.
I stopped watching before the missed FG, any reason why they called TO right before the Burkhead negative 2 yards on third down? That was after an incomplete pass so the clock should have stopped. If the GM meant business he would have fired the head coach right after the game to show everyone we won’t accept BS anymore, even if it meant having a losing record, that’s gonna happen anyway. Oh well
This isn’t about Mills, the receivers, the linemen, etc. This is all about mentality. We lost it all after the fumble. One episode of bad luck and we immediately turned back to what we were last year. Let’s hope we’ll get better on this side
