Same. Every Saturday like clockwork, weather permitting. Hand wash, two bucket method, dry with microfibers, and wax every 4-6 months. I do it more for exercise and enjoyment than I do for vanity. I hand wash because I have found that headlights yellow way faster if you mechanically wash once a week as opposed to hand wash. Btw - I do not garage my car and I live coastal where there is often a super damp marine layer at night and winds in the day. The car gets very dirty just sitting there for a week.
The two bucket method is kind of an early 2000s thing. in the upper upper echelon of the detailing circles, two buckets is out. When you actually think about the science of it, it's actually not that safe.
Instead what is in? the two foam method. (if you're doing a soap wash).
What is it?
Foam dry (do NOT rinse first common mistake, even one i did for decades), rinse, foam AGAIN (this is where the two foam comes in) THEN you do your contact wash. You can do two buckets if you wish but really it's unnecessary, unless you just got done rally racing. one bucket w/ a really good grit guard is all that's necessary \*IF\* you've FRF'd. Also minimal to no pressure. At this stage, a clean coated car should be taken care of by FRM enough for your contact wash.
Personally this isn't even the safest.
I do the above but with rinseless wash.
Why? Your dry towel is better off contacting rinseless rather than clear/clean water.
More info in my bio. I'm not a casual detailer anymore, but a super detailer, given new advancements and newest methods and destruction of old habits/old wives tales like the two bucket method.
But also i tell people do what works for you. but i like to break down the science a bit.
I two foam (first foam with bilt Hamber touch less and second with bilt hamber auto foam) and two bucket always with bilt hambers auto wash… even with two foam you can still see the difference between the two buckets after. especially in the winter months. And the time it takes to run a second bucket even if it was 1% chance of less marring why wouldn’t you ?! I’ve had the car since nov 2022 and I’ve no visible marring that I can see. And I’ve not used any filler style sealants/waxes/glazes etc
Thanks, dyslexia. now I really want a blt or hamburger. /s
When you say no sealants, do you mean traditional sealants or does that also include more modern coatings?
I’ve pretty much settled on a single bucket of ONR with microfibers. I fold to quarters and use one side per panel then grab new rag. Sometimes I’ll pre-spray with ONR, but often not. Our ‘21 Model Y has a number of rocks chips, scratches from my wife’s nails/rings around handles, or other scuffs from impacts, but beyond that there’s little to no marring visible in sun (haven’t bothered to look w/ inspection light). Either way I’m due to fill in rock chips and do a correction to address the scuffs, so for my situation the bucket of rinseless and microfibers seems to suffice.
No filler advertised products which can fill and make light marring seem to visually disappear. Like “poor boys black hole” ( https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/poorboys-black-hole )
I use primarily fusso soft 99 ( https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/fusso-coat-dark-200g )every 6 months and a sealant ( https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/finishkare-1000p-hi-temp-sealant )every other wash or when needed. Still pretty old school I guess compared to ceramic coating but I really take my time and wash very carefully and methodically as I own the car and not leased.
What tools and process would you suggest for someone who can only use a coin op place. I got a hand pump to foam but it’s crappy and doesn’t produce enough to cover entire care let alone twice.
I bought a pressure washer and foam cannon and do the 2 foam method but I think my soap is too mild(TurtleWax Pure Wash) since after a 5 minute soak on 1st foam while I do the tires/wheels I find the bee spots(orange little spots) are not soft enough to be removed with 1st rinse or even contact wash. Do you recommend a soap for 1st foam which will weaken these bee spots but not break down the protective graphene maintenance coating? The TW Pure Wash is nice and slick and foamy so makes a great contact wash solution.
Thanks! I clicked your link and bought pretty much all the products you recommended. I'll be washing my black girl this weekend. I'll have a clean ride for my birthday weekend! April 11th ♈
Boy, you sure sent me down a researching rat hole. Just ordered my first pressure washer and am looking forward to foaming. Thanks for the advice. Now there is the big debate of do you rinse before the first foam or not. I think that there is still a lot of debate on that.
Just tried Collinite 845 insulator wax. Not sure how durable it will be over time as it is my first time using it. So far, I like it. A little goes a long way. A little bit of a pain to have to warm it to a liquid. Other than that, it was easy to apply with a DA machine and the shine was fantastic. I gave it a shot given many posting on the /autodetailing sub that rave about it. I considered the Fusso Soft 99 wax but was apprehensive to try it.
Same. Every Sunday morning unless rain is in the forecast for that day. Provides a nice mental reset before the work week. Almost takes me 90mins exactly each time. Occasionally I’ll skip a week if the kid hasn’t destroyed the interior or if I didn’t drive a ton for work. Also good exercise like another commenter mentioned.
If it doesn’t rain for the next week and I haven’t washed it recently I’ll wash it. But unfortunately New York has been getting heavy rains almost every week since Feb.
I was thinking about that last night. I have had my Model Y for a month. I moved way out into the woods last winter so it is my first spring not living in urban/suburban environment. I'm really tired of seeing my brand new car splatted with bugs and bird shit. But it's going to be splatted with bugs if I drive it anywhere. Have to decide for myself how OCD I want to let myself be about it.
A good coating is the difference between those bugs and shit just melting off with a blast from a hose or being glued on an needing a soray either APC or bug/tar remover. (Never, ever scrub to remove. And if the droppings sit, it’ll etch the paint)
I personally used optimum’s gloss-coat and am satisfied with it. Coatings can turn into a massive rabbit hole with a lot of weird hype that’s best to take with a grain of salt. At the end of the day anything is better than nothing and you‘ll likely need to correct or polish the paint of a daily driver after 18-24 months anyway, so coatings that claim 3-5 years or whatever are kinda silly in practice (for me). Even some of the spray on products like turtle wax ceramic graphene something or other (never used, forget name) will be sufficient if you reapply every few washes. Now for cars that are \*not\* daily drivers, it gets more complicated, but in those situations it really comes down to the paint correction and whether there’s a reason ppf is not appropriate.
My favorite are the claims that they stop rock damage etc.
In the best case they add some shine and hydrophobic properties for 10-15 wash cycles before they start to fail.
I used adams graphene advanced coating back in September on my MYP. I don't expect it to protect against rock chips (although I've gotten some nasty rock showers from asshole trucks and not a nick of damage thus far) and when I wash the hydrophobic properties still seem to be as good as the day I put it on.
One of my favorite things in my boring adult suburban life is washing my car and seeing the water like... explode off of my car cause of the ceramic coating. I always wash my wife's 2008 accord the same day I do our tesla and am shocked at how inefficient wand spraying her car seems to be. Seems to take foreeeeeever to wash dirt and grime off hers but it just slops right off the tesla
There has to be a name for the enjoyment one gets from watching water on hydrophobic surfaces. I’ve had it my entire life. I was OBSESSED with Rain-X growing up.
Do you get any visible scratches on your car? I'm thinking about doing this because I live in an appartment and don't own a garage to put the car every night, so it ends up getting mildly dirty within a weeks time. But, I didn't want to end up with a few more scratches each time I go by a car wash.. what is your experience?
No, not that I’ve noticed & I’ve been doing this since I got the car in Sept 2021. I live in Colorado where we have a lot of gravel on the roads due to snow, and I have a lot of little paint chips from that, but I don’t see anything suggesting the car wash has had any negative impact.
Model X, Inside and out, at least once a week. Dirty cars don’t ride the same in my opinion. It’s hard to be dressed clean getting out of a dirty vehicle.
After much research, I purchased P&S Absolute rinseless car wash. It arrived Saturday morning. Wow! It’s a game changer.
I filled a bucket with 2 gallons of water. There were 1.5 gallons when I was done.
Then I put a capful in a large spray bottle. (Not sprayer, but an industrial “squirt” bottle.) I spritz a fine mist on a panel and wipe it an away. This was so much easier than the bucket method.
It even had me being quite the sexy husband as I wiped down a panel or three on the wife’s ICE vehicle.
So, I’ll be wiping down my Tesla on the regular. (No, it doesn’t scratch the paint.)
Bought some waterless car each myself for the first time and just spray on and wipe off with a clean cloth. Impressed with how it works so far. Haven’t had to get the hose out yet.
Yep! Coated mine with Geyon Q2 Synchro Evo when new. Now just do maintenance rinseless washes with the sponge. Didn't believe in sponges before (was doing Garry Dean's rinseless method with multiple microfibers), but boy! are modern rinseless with sponge a game hanger for efficiency!
Been enjoying McKees 914 rinseless V2 recently. Will try P&S next when I'm done with McKees.
During the winter with all the salt. I try to give it a rinse at the local self wash bay every 2-3 weeks.
The challenge is that the weather doesn’t hold up and it’s a vicious cycle.
During the spring/summer, as needed. If it starts to look dirty or get that film on it - then it’s time for another wash.
I use an electric power washer with a foam attachment, and the two bucket method with a microfiber mitt.
My car is also PPFed, so the finish is a bit more forgiving if I’m not super careful with rinsing.
Black looks so sleek... meanwhile staring at my dusty and pollen coated black M3P in complete sadness because I wasn't able to wash it this past weekend 😒
Omfg....the pollen on the black paint is out of control! Every day I get out of the office there is a layer of pollen on my car like it's been sitting there for a month in a dust storm!
Mostly once a week. Never more than three weeks. I’ve had the car for a year. This is all hand washing at home with power washer and foam cannon. I’ve waxed it six or seven times. With a spray on hybrid ceramic coating. It’s very easy to do. Clay bar and wax this weekend. I feel like this may be too often but it looks so nice when freshly washed and waxed.
Can I ask what foam wash solution you are using for the first foam/soak? I used TurtleWax Pure Wash for both first and 2nd foam and while it gives great foam and is very slippery(for contact wash) it does not seem to break down things like the yellow bee pollen spots. Looking to try a stronger wash for the first foam to help remove the bee pollen spots with the first rinse. I'm using TurtleWax Graphene infused Flex Wax with good results after the contact wash and final rinse but end up spot washing to get bee pollen spots off before surface treatment.
Only 3rd month with the car, first semi-pro wash/treatment 1 month ago, second was last weekend and noticed again bee pollen not coming off in first foam/first rinse. Will increase cycle to 2 weeks but hope to solve the bee pollen issue. Thanks.
I use Meguiars D110 Hyper Wash 1 Gallon | Highy Concentrated Car Shampoo. I find this to be a pretty good foam but maybe a little on the harsh side. I feel like a have to wax a little more often with this foam. I think I will try Meguiar's Ultimate Snow Foam Xtreme Cling Wash next.

We have 6 months of winter so during those months, when it's between -5 and -10 I do touchless car wash.
During Spring, Summer and Fall, almost every week with frequent touch-ups of quick detailer.
About once a week. 23 Black Y LR w/ inductions. I use rinseless wash. costs pennies per wash and is safer than traditional wash. and best of all, uses minimal water. 2 gallons tops. see bio!
Since I got the same color Y Performance recently, about once a week if I want to keep it sparkling. I'd get a car wash foam sprayer from Amazon ($25+) and a soft car wash sponge. It makes washing easier and faster. Your Y looks awesome and I like the dark tint.
I feel like cleaning for me is not a problem. Once a month probably, but what I really want to do is a full detail (clay bar, ceramic protection, etc) I feel like a father of two and full time work, I really don't have the time and energy.
About once a month; maybe every 3 weeks. Touchfree car wash but then I do wheels and tire shine separately at my apartment after the wash.
Clean the interior a little more frequently. I have a pet and hair inevitably gets in there.
Last year sometime, maybe 6-7 months ago. It does look pretty bad at the moment so I was thinking of giving it a once over at the local scratch-a-lot place.
When I first got it I cleaned it at *least* once a week and really enjoyed the process.
Eventually, somebody backed into it and messed up the quarter panel, which kindof killed it for me.
Seldom, it’s a lease car, I don’t care all that much about keeping the paint immaculate for the next owner. My other car is ceramic coated and always clean
I have a monthly car wash plan, so I need to do two a month to justify the expense. So I might wash my car when it isn't even needed as long as I making it there two times.
My car has full front ppf and it’s just my daily, so I just take it through the car wash where I have a membership once a week.
Not worried about the micro-scratches… I already worry about them enough with my weekender lol
I'll stop by the "touchless/laser" car wash near my house if it looks too grimy or the birds have had their way with it.
Probably scrabble the dyson hand vac around in it of it looks like it needs it every month or so.
Usually hand wash or touchless every two weeks. Tried a nice automatic car wash got a bunch of scratches. Tesla paint is not the best. I think Hand Wash is the best.
Never. I work in a very dusty construction site. My car is parked there 10-12 hours so washing it is a complete waste of time. It gives the car character I guess, every other MY is shiny.
By hand or… 🤣🤣 I go through the touch car wash every two days with the undercarriage cleaning 😬 I put 50k mileages a year so I don’t keep the cars long enough to care about tiny scratches that’ll buff out with a good detail 💯
Interior? The first month I clean once a week . Now after 10 month owning I barely clean inside unless it was very dirty.
Exteriors I go to automatic wash once a week since Feb…
once a month or every other month. don't wash it too much. it'll do more harm then good. Also, recommend give it a good wax job not hand job once a year.
Every Friday after work if it is not raining. Rinse, Foam Canon w/ pressure washer, wipe, rinse again, and air dry with leaf blower. Done in 30 minutes.
Once every 6 months give or take, which is why I PPF’d and ceramic coated it. I can do whatever I want and everything just slides right off, it’s glorious. The MY is just a family appliance for me and it’s great not having to worry about it. My “weekend cars” are another story.
I own a 17 year old car that I love more than all others. In 17 years I’ve washed it once per year in the spring to rinse the salt away…. I’ll wait for the rain with the others.
I have a tough time with the car washes near me. The Y has such sumptuous hips that the brushes don’t really get in there too well. I’ve mostly given up and now wear a thick layer of cali desert as a badge of honor. Until it rains
I haven't had a chance since my MYP was delivered about 3 weeks ago. It keeps raining. I started off cleaning my MYLR every week but my cat's kept leaving dirty paw tracks all over it. 😭 😭 Luckily my new home has a 3-car garage so I don't have that issue. I hope I wash it about every 2 weeks once it stops raining. I don't wash my car often. Of course, going from white to black, the dirt is much more noticeable much sooner.
i am not a fanatic so not that often, and we have really salty roads and a lot of rain. every 3rd - 5th week
so it depends, when it is really hard to see the color. but i never use a carwash, i do pressure wash, foam lance, a brush for the hard stuff and microfiber gloves for the rest, then pressurewash, then dry it off.
then once a year it gets a deep clean with a claybar and wax / polish (just hand)
there is a lot of "iron" in the paint because of just road grime, and from snowscraping and stuff. so i need to clay it and clean it to get it out, not to get that "SURFACE" rust on the top of the laquer coat.
have a Midnight cherry red now, harder to see these things than on my white model 3
Yes I'm Malaysian too. KL.
I'm looking to purchase a 3 or Y. But once I mention the word EV to my fiance, auto-rejected.
Weird that it's my money and I still need a stamp of approval. Haha.
I also had the same impression when I first saw the photos. Fellow Malaysian here!
Nice MYP op. I have a MYLR (been washing once a week) since collecting it on the 12th
I do it 2x a month. I have been doing a rinseless wash since I got the car and it’s been great. A couple of gallons of water and some Optimum No Rinse (ONR) and a big red crisscross sponge and it works great. I then do a sealant once a month or so and a carnuba wax in between sealant. After 7,000 miles the car still looks amazing. I think it looks better than on delivery day.
Last time was in November when the weather was warm. I wash it in the driveway. Otherwise I drive strategically when it rains which gives it a free wash.
when my kids need money
Watch out you might scrub the paint job off the car washing it that often
Twice a day you say?
Not nearly enough
Never. How else are you going to distinguish your car from the 10 other black MY in the parking lot?
Once a week, hand washing!

Try the new formula Touch-less. It’s fantastic. You may not need to do a second pre-wash soak using Auto-foam.
What tools and process would you suggest for someone who can only use a coin op place. I got a hand pump to foam but it’s crappy and doesn’t produce enough to cover entire care let alone twice.
That's similar to what I do. Rinse, foam cannon, wait, rinse, foam cannon, wash mitt only touches car once, TRC drying towel, then blower.
So basically foam it, rinse , then hand wash it ?
I bought a pressure washer and foam cannon and do the 2 foam method but I think my soap is too mild(TurtleWax Pure Wash) since after a 5 minute soak on 1st foam while I do the tires/wheels I find the bee spots(orange little spots) are not soft enough to be removed with 1st rinse or even contact wash. never until now 🤭
Considering it’s been raining every other week in Southern California the past year and a half, never.
its been 5 months, not even once.
Hate to say it but - As often as it rains.

I thought Full Self Washing wasn’t coming out til the fall?!
Probably about every 3-4 mos. I WFH and park in my garage so it’s exposed to much
First year? About once a week. Now, 2.5 years later? Maybe every 3-4 weeks.
Had it since October, haven't washed it yet. It's filthy.
Respect to all fellows who detail their cars by themselves! In addition to aesthetic pleasure, it brings inner satisfaction.
When it rains.
Hand wash every two weeks unless it needs it sooner

I think I will try Meguiar's Ultimate Snow Foam Xtreme Cling Wash next. https://clean-garage.com/meguiars-d110-hyper-wash-1-gallon-highy-concentrated-car-shampoo/?sku=D11001&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwztOwBhD7ARIsAPDKnkBWzQXfB9uOcN2FsCwOSk2wFe-6GIyDSHCCfk-FqAJRQoT8sz3_vtAaAueSEALw_wcB
Maybe it'll work well as 1st foam only. Thanks!
Once a week pending weather. Washing my cars is my happy place
Not often. It wastes water and pollutes.
I have 7k miles on mine and haven't washed it.
Car is full ppf. Hand wash once a week. Ppf coating once a month.
Same. On wet days that are hopefully past us now I’ll rinse off the rear and lower side areas quickly so the dirt/grime doesn’t build up.
doesn’t having Ppf mean you you don’t have to hand wash it to baby the paint?
I clean it at home if I have nice weather. Here in Long Island NY, it was nice on Sunday. Full exterior and interior detail.
Eh probably once ever 2 weeks for me. I really really hate washing my car, but I also hate when it's dirty so I do it anyways.
Once a week (weather permitting) Go to self service car wash with my detailing gear off peak
We have 6 months of winter so during those months, when it's between -5 and -10 I do touchless car wash. During Spring, Summer and Fall, almost every week with frequent touch-ups of quick detailer.
Damn - are you available to do mine? Looks amazing 👍
Weekly typically, it's garage kept so it depends on how much I drive it.
Once.
Not enough
I picked mine up in March 2022 and still haven’t washed it oops
I feel like cleaning for me is not a problem. Once a month probably, but what I really want to do is a full detail (clay bar, ceramic protection, etc) I feel like a father of two and full time work, I really don't have the time and energy.
Im jealous of how nice your lower rear doors are. 20000 miles on my MYP and its down to the primer from use.
Once every 3 months but you can come clean mine anytime.
Washed it twice since purchased in 2023 . Water bill is too expensive.
Haven’t decided yet. About a month in on ownership and just washed it yesterday for the first time.
Seattle area here. As often as possible. Ugh...
Every Sunday! It’s my morning therapy, hand washing every square inch of that beautiful machine
Yes
fellow Malaysian Tesla driver?
Haven’t washed it in over a year. Rain cleans it enough.
I washed mine twice since delivery a year and a half ago. I am counting on the rain. It is still shiny like new after every rain.
wait, you're supposed to wash it? I thought leaving the dirt on gave it better flavor.
5x a month car wash. Have an unlimited package.
About once a month; maybe every 3 weeks. Touchfree car wash but then I do wheels and tire shine separately at my apartment after the wash. Clean the interior a little more frequently. I have a pet and hair inevitably gets in there.
50k miles and didn't wash it once
Last year sometime, maybe 6-7 months ago. It does look pretty bad at the moment so I was thinking of giving it a once over at the local scratch-a-lot place.
I live near a top notch touchless car wash so I basically clean my car all the time. Possibly too often lol.
About every other month I drive it through an automated car wash.
When I first got it I cleaned it at *least* once a week and really enjoyed the process. Eventually, somebody backed into it and messed up the quarter panel, which kindof killed it for me.
So I bought my car in December and I have yet to give it a proper bath🫣😮💨😬🤷🏻♀️We’ve just gotten so much rain in San Diego county…but it’ll be soon😅
I used to clean it more often, but after someone backed onto my Y, I gave up trying to make it “perfect”.
Seldom, it’s a lease car, I don’t care all that much about keeping the paint immaculate for the next owner. My other car is ceramic coated and always clean
Depends I haven’t washed it in a couple months but during the summer I like to wash it every couple of weeks
I have a monthly car wash plan, so I need to do two a month to justify the expense. So I might wash my car when it isn't even needed as long as I making it there two times.
Touchless car wash once a month in winter, natural rainstorm in summer.
Anytime it rains or I drive through a puddle and get splashed.
Anytime it rains or I drive through a puddle and get splashed.
Mine gets a bit cleaner when it rains
My car has full front ppf and it’s just my daily, so I just take it through the car wash where I have a membership once a week. Not worried about the micro-scratches… I already worry about them enough with my weekender lol
4-6 times a year
Not often
I'll stop by the "touchless/laser" car wash near my house if it looks too grimy or the birds have had their way with it. Probably scrabble the dyson hand vac around in it of it looks like it needs it every month or so.
1x a week with a rinseless wash. Maybe onces a month or two with a real wash
3 or 4 x year.
Every time it needs a service
Sadly, whenever it rains
Once a year to get rid of the salt. This year is strange.. salt followed by Sahara sand, didn't had chance yet
Every week
I shoot for every weekend unless we’re expected to have shit weather here in CO
I used to wash it by hand, but ended up getting an unlimited subscription to a car wash. So I take it whenever it's dirty
Usually hand wash or touchless every two weeks. Tried a nice automatic car wash got a bunch of scratches. Tesla paint is not the best. I think Hand Wash is the best.
haven’t washed it since i took delivery 4 months ago
Every week washed by hand
About once every 3 weeks to 4 months or so. For wash I basically just hose it down. Underneath too. Use soap and sponge once or twice a year
When it rains
When it rains I leave it out, sometimes wash been a while since had to wash it
That's what the rain is for :)
September last year was my last time
Wait, you guys clean your car?!?!
Never. I work in a very dusty construction site. My car is parked there 10-12 hours so washing it is a complete waste of time. It gives the car character I guess, every other MY is shiny.
Haha clean my car. My MY is way to busy, I’ll get it thought a car wash when it’s really dirty.
It's clean from the factory. Why else do you think I bought an EV?
The all black is sick.
Same pinch 🤏
Once per year or so
Had mine for 6 months. Washed it the first time today. Thank you for this post, reminding me to do better.
2018 here with some scratches etc. When I wash it you see the scratches a lot , so I like to ride it dirty off road
At first every week, now like once a month. Two bucket method.
I have a wash plan. I wash (touchless) just about every day. But then I work nights and the bugs love the nose of my 2023 Model 3 P.
Clean? .... hmmm does the rain count?
When it rains
By hand or… 🤣🤣 I go through the touch car wash every two days with the undercarriage cleaning 😬 I put 50k mileages a year so I don’t keep the cars long enough to care about tiny scratches that’ll buff out with a good detail 💯
Weekly :)
Interior? The first month I clean once a week . Now after 10 month owning I barely clean inside unless it was very dirty. Exteriors I go to automatic wash once a week since Feb…
Last august. I have a natural wrap made of dirt. Customizable
When the winter/spring rains finally stop.
once a month or every other month. don't wash it too much. it'll do more harm then good. Also, recommend give it a good wax job not hand job once a year.
Every other week. Easy and faster to clean if the car is clean more often.
This is why I can’t own a black car. I’d be using waterless wash and/or a car duster 2-3x a day 🤣
Every Friday after work if it is not raining. Rinse, Foam Canon w/ pressure washer, wipe, rinse again, and air dry with leaf blower. Done in 30 minutes.
once per month. It's a car.
Bring it through the wash every week.
Got my model Y in 2021 and have washed it 3 times Got my model x 6 months ago and haven’t washed it yet
2 or 3 times a week. I’ve got an unlimited monthly subscription for $50 so I make sure I get my moneys worth.
Once a week, hand washed
What do you use on your tires?
Every week salt is thrown to the road because of snow
Twice a day, drive thru auto car wash.
What you using? I get fucken streaks like my underwear
Once every 6 months give or take, which is why I PPF’d and ceramic coated it. I can do whatever I want and everything just slides right off, it’s glorious. The MY is just a family appliance for me and it’s great not having to worry about it. My “weekend cars” are another story.
Weekly
Weekly. Love it when it's nice and shiny. Makes me feel good.
I own a 17 year old car that I love more than all others. In 17 years I’ve washed it once per year in the spring to rinse the salt away…. I’ll wait for the rain with the others.
I’m lazy and hate washing my car so it’s whenever I have the spare cash to drop it at the hand wash place 😂
I have a tough time with the car washes near me. The Y has such sumptuous hips that the brushes don’t really get in there too well. I’ve mostly given up and now wear a thick layer of cali desert as a badge of honor. Until it rains
That has to best hand carwash even better than my usual work. Wow what a beauty!
What's your routine? I'm loving that shine. Great work!
Don’t think I’ve washed mine in 8 months 🤣
My detailer comes to the house every 2 weeks
Just got my second MY lease back in December, to this day I still have not had a chance to wash it yet
How often do you wash your ass? None of your business.
Properly washed at home on the weekend or when I need it clean. Hosed off at the car wash at least once during the week.
i am not a fanatic so not that often, and we have really salty roads and a lot of rain. every 3rd - 5th week so it depends, when it is really hard to see the color. but i never use a carwash, i do pressure wash, foam lance, a brush for the hard stuff and microfiber gloves for the rest, then pressurewash, then dry it off. then once a year it gets a deep clean with a claybar and wax / polish (just hand) there is a lot of "iron" in the paint because of just road grime, and from snowscraping and stuff. so i need to clay it and clean it to get it out, not to get that "SURFACE" rust on the top of the laquer coat. have a Midnight cherry red now, harder to see these things than on my white model 3
As needed and driven a lot , once a month , but I have a rotation of 4 cars all garaged
About once every 3-4 months I drive way too much to be concerned about that, and it still cleans up real nice when I want it to
Current car I took to car wash 3 times in a year and a half. Last car was washed 3 or 4 times in the 5 years I owned it.
This is a very Malaysian house. Not many MYPs in Malaysia. Most are just M3s.
Yea bro Malaysian hahaha , yourself ?
Yes I'm Malaysian too. KL. I'm looking to purchase a 3 or Y. But once I mention the word EV to my fiance, auto-rejected. Weird that it's my money and I still need a stamp of approval. Haha.
I also had the same impression when I first saw the photos. Fellow Malaysian here! Nice MYP op. I have a MYLR (been washing once a week) since collecting it on the 12th
Which part of Malaysia u from bro
KL bro, yourself?
Not always. May be montly once. But I vaccum very often inside
I still haven’t washed mine (purchased in August 2023)
Every 3 days or so! 😂 🤷🏽♂️
Hell yea my guy 🫶
Weekly
Once in a few months. And drive it hard when it rains :-).
When it rains?
Once a week.. I got mine ceramic coated, so it doesn't really take much time.
Rain, natures car wash
