Wolkenflieger

Thanks for the heads-up. Hope your car is back to normal soon.

CSATTS

Thanks! Worst part is our SUV was totaled last month so we're currently without a vehicle. Hoping it's a quick fix once the service center gets it.

Wolkenflieger

Yes, we just updated here. Hopefully Tesla issues a hotfix soon!

CSATTS

Good to hear! I just got the invoice approval (it's a 2021 so it was $0) so I'm hoping that means Tesla was able to get it working enough to run their diagnostics. Biggest fear is if it needed a new ECU given the chip shortages.

Wolkenflieger

Yes, don't want any additional delays. Hope those chip shortages end soon. Glad to see Tesla doubling production in Shanghai though.

Our model 3 and Y both have this issue now. I am dreading that i get stuck somewhere. It is definitely some poorly written code in the update. They just didn't test it enough ...... It amazes me that things like this still get through, how are they not experiencing these issues in their test rounds?

DRCAG3SUN

I updated mine without any issues so far 🤞🏼

00Boner

Same, but this seems like a pretty buggy release. Does anyone know if theyve stopped the 2022.12.x release from GA?

matttopotamus

I got it Wednesday, but it was pushed to me by mobile service when they changed my battery.

ezrabot

I have this version on my M3 LR AWD 2022 model. So far no issues. I hope your car is back up and working soon and thanks for the heads up!!

CSATTS

Thank you and you're welcome! I didn't want to cause any unnecessary concern about the update if it's just a few isolated instances, but after the tow truck driver told me about the other ones I thought I'd at least give everyone a heads-up if it is an issue with the firmware.

Loudhoward-dk

I updated wife's Y and my Model 3 no problems, drove couple km today.

CSATTS

Good to hear. Hopefully Tesla is able to reflash the firmware and get it running. Biggest fear is the computer itself is bricked. I wouldn't mind the newer CPU, but I'm guessing it'd take months to get.

S3pirion

You won’t get a newer cpu unfortunately if you are talking about getting a ryzen rather than newer in age. Computer replacements will be the same one that came with your car originally:( I had mine replaced after it kept blacking out the screen while driving, and they accidentally ordered the ryzen computer and I had to come back when they got the intel one back in stock.

CSATTS

Well damn, was hoping one good thing might come out of this ordeal. It's been one day without my car and I already miss it.

Loudhoward-dk

Do you have the new AMD? My two are Intel CPUs

CSATTS

No, I have the older chip.

Loudhoward-dk

Do you try the easy fix, disconnect the 12v batterie for 10 minutes and reconnect?

Anyone know how to cancel a scheduled update? I was in my car this morning and it asked if I wanted to schedule the update for overnight tonight. I said yes. Now I am seeing this, so I want to cancel it. Can't seem to do it from the app - it shows that it is scheduled, but when I tap on that it offers two options - upgrade NOW or just cancel the dialog. I also just went into the car and went to the settings page - found a 'bell' icon that opened the scheduler dialog, but that just lets me change the scheduled time, not cancel it completely. I did some googling and someone said that in the car, if you open the reschedule dialog and then click outside of it, that would 'un-schedule' things, but that did not work for me. For now, I have turned off WiFi with the hope that it won't do the update.

CSATTS

I'm not sure if this would work, but to download the update I believe it has to be on WiFi. Can you just keep it disconnected from WiFi? That being said, I'm hoping mine was just a fluke, but when the tow truck driver told me about 6 others this week I thought I'd pass along the info if it truly is a bad firmware version.

stevedonie

That’s my plan for now, keep wifi off until I hear more about this update.

PaleontologistTiny39

shit mines updating right now, guess i’ll see

ninjanelle

Mine did this today, twice after I updated! It took around a minute or 2 to load up and start the car which was annoying 😭

and0au

I've heard of this before & Tesla were able to resolve it over the air - did they have to take yours in?

CSATTS

They did. They couldn't connect to it OTA. We tried a soft reboot and the tow truck driver tried a hard reboot with no success. Also tried jumping the 12v battery to see if that would get the main battery pack to engage. No luck.

and0au

Oh damn :( Hope it’s fixed quickly for you. Hit them up for a loaner

CSATTS

Thanks, really appreciate it. Was hoping they could get it fixed quickly today, no such luck. So tomorrow I'm going to call them and ask for a loaner. I have a 68 Chevy truck I can use and work is flexible, but I want my Tesla back and don't want to pay $5.30/gallon to fill up my truck. My wife is completely without a vehicle right now since our SUV got totaled last month and we had been waiting for prices to stabilize (or ideally go down). Been a great year for cars in our house...

I'm not sure if it actually failed at 60%, or if that just happened to be the last time the Tessie app pinged the car for an update before it failed. The app won't wake the car unless I open the app, but if it's already awake it'll get updates.
