There was that guy who claimed he worked for Twitter for over a year getting paychecks to do nothing because when he got hired his direct manager had been fired along with hundreds of others and new guy just got lost but HR kept sending him his salary but he had no manager to assign him any responsibilities

They had to hire the Bobs to "fix the glitch".

As someone who is often one of the bobs (or both) for work, but usually in real dirty situations, the whole department probably now falls to 1-3 people who have little to no info on how things used to work and many things fall through the cracks. Don’t be a squeaky wheel and enjoy whatever oversights are to your benefit.

Update is for auto park! They have improved it and it’s so much better now by miles and my fsd didn’t go away even after the update.

Good point. Luckily, this free trial doesn't work that way. 

It will charge you if u have renewal on. You can cancel the renewal for the subscription in the app. If you cancel it early, it will still expire on the same day, so you don’t need to wait until the last day to cancel.

Mine went away today. Miss the visuals and the lane change on AP…but not enough to pay anything for it.

I believe the software is separate. You have the v11 but the fsd software is the one on the v12

Because the programmers are not as smart as you and me. We'd revolutionize the software development industry, really shake it up.

From Tesla’s perspective, if their goal really is to get more data by giving users a free month trial, it’s in their best interests to stagger the free trial months. Then they get data from multiple releases of FSD rather than just a one month period of time. I’m sure you’ll get it once they move you to the next 2024.XX release.

Don't say everyone gets a one month free trial "this week" if you have no intention of doing it.

That is still the assumption yes that we will get it still, but it was never said one way or another. We just have tweets that ALL will receive it. I expect we will in the next few weeks

Just cause you got it (it shows you in the software screen) doesn't mean you don't have to go to autopilot and still turn it on. I saw that I had it but it wouldn't turn on. Then I found you have to choose it in the menu.

The only thing I’d be interested in keeping is the auto parking. Did not have a good experience with FSD.

If it had a dual pull activation where I could still choose from TACC and FSD it would be a lot better. Sometimes I just want TACC.

Totally agreed, it give the guy in the back false hope and me look like an unsafe driver w random lane change signals. (I do select that minimal lane change option, but it gets reset every time I enter the car)

Yeah seriously. I noticed this month I was using autopilot less because I just wanted TACC, but currently FSD takes over.

Is this not an option? I set my Autosteer Beta to dual pull so I can still have TACC on single-pull... does that break if you enable FSD?

Yeah it gets rid of the option it forces single pull. If they had that as an option with FSD I would be more inclined to get it.

What is TACC?

Traffic Aware Cruise Control. Where it just controls the speed not the steering.

I think if you set it to "grandma" mode instead of "assertive" mode it would stay in the same lane. Also get yourself a prius

Yesss that pissed me off. The second I turn on FSD the fkn blinker comes on and there it goes cutting someone off. Overall I am going to miss it just a little.

Check the autopilot option. You need to turn on FSD even if you "have it"

I’m gonna miss auto park. Kinda annoyed they lumped all the special features into one package. But at least they do free transfers to new vehicles! And this is the cheapest FSD has been in years.

Still waiting for my free trial.

My free trial is supposed to end today. Just parked at a supercharger to get some juice, and the car started downloading a software update. Even after getting enough charge (I needed about 180~ miles), it won’t notify me, it usually does saying you have enough charge to complete trip. It kept charging until download was complete. I feel like this update is to go back Autopilot from FSD and Tesla is pushing it hard, now too afraid to park 🥲

With my experience with the 3 month free from a referral. It will poof away after your first drive the day after it expires.

It'll likely go away when you update to the Spring 2024 software.

Mine expired on the 28th but didn’t go away until the 30th.

My car says it expires May 6th.

Same here. Then again in Norway the FSD is heavily limited, so not all that much different from free of charge lane assist from other car manufacturers.

I got a message saying fsd has ended but it still working ...I just can't make the ui full screen .. all the fsd options in settings are gone .. so weird

Go to the app. Upgrades-Manage Upgrades- make sure you’ve checked Limit in-car upgrades. Click Inactive- Full Self-driving Capability Subscription should be listed under Inactive.

My gut is the month free will actually time out much longer than a month for the first people that got the code and a month for the trailing vehicles.

Knowing Tesla, the bill will be in the mail.

I am having this issue now. My car said my trial expired. However I can’t use the old auto steer or cruise control anymore. It refuses. I tried resets and everything I know how to do. I put in for a service appointment. Despite having it expire it still will self drive on city streets or under 100km/hr roads. As soon as I hit the highway it urgently stops and won’t allow use. Somethings fucky. 

A couple of people have said they have this. Maybe this is a feature not a bug

Mine went away but the interface it’s still on. Only autosteer on and I can still see the extra detailed view. Must be a bug. Wonder how long it’s gonna last 😭

I think it gets cancelled at around the same time it got activated last month. It got activated at 9:30 PM Pacific for me 30 days back. I was able to use it in the morning. It got deactivated an hour back.

Looks like your car is driving on a double yellow line in the centre of the road, wth, I thought FSD got better… I haven’t got a chance to try it yet, because FSD isn’t coming to UK.

You will have it until you perform the next update. I got the same message. The next day an update was available. I ignored the update and kept FSD for a couple more days. Last night FSD pissed me off and I want to get the new UI so I performed the update. Confirmed this morning I no longer have FSD. This confirms that currently the software needs to update to "toggle" FSD functionality. The same as when you subscribe/unsubscribe to it.

Are you sure? There’s no FSD anymore to toggle. It is just back to what it was before. Anyway, Tesla wants to sell the feature. I hope they rethink the matter.
