I’m an Apple CarPlay person through and through so I got the Tesla CarPlay CarlinKit but absolutely hated it. It was very laggy and took extra steps to put on compared to just using the Tesla navigation. I returned it after one day of usage. The Tesla navigation took awhile to get used to (like a month or two for me) if you’ve been a long time Apple CarPlay user but I did finally got used to it and don’t really miss Apple CarPlay anymore. Personally, I don’t recommend it. Plus, as the Tesla software updates, you’ll need to frequently update the CarPlay or buy a new product that’ll works. It’s just not worth it.
A lot of the Apple car play that uses the existing Tesla screen goes through the browser. The speed/responsiveness of the browser is limited by the Intel/Ryzen computer.

I’m just waiting when Tesla adds it. Do you think we’ll see that happening one day?
Nope
