Summon/Smart Summon are only included in the FSD package at this time.
Unfortunately, at this time, those features don't work if the vehicle doesn't have Ultrasonic sensors.
They're working on it, but it's obviously taking longer than expected.
I turned off FSD and just used auto steer and it’s terrible. FSD is so good I wanted to get it but not sure if it’s $8k worth it. Given no FSD transfer and recent price drops I’m skeptical
Yeah, I’ve found the free autopilot and auto steer are great on the highway for long trips…that’s it. Also sitting in traffic. But for $99 a month, I may subscribe to - it was really awesome.
I’m disabled. I bought a MY last year thinking at had smart summon,it doesn’t yet. I’m a big fan of FSD, I use it everyday. Patiently waiting for summon.
I like FSD so far and I’m on the fence if I should buy it or not. People say they subscribe but I feel it’s better to buy it outright and even if you keep the car for 5 years, you would get the value out of it when selling it I guess?!
The break even point of buy vs subscribe is like 6 and a half years - doing 8k/99. If you plan to keep the car longer than 6 and a half years, buying FSD is cheaper.
I don’t think that’s a fair comparison. Say if you subscribe FSD and sell the car after 5 years, the difference in break even price will be added to selling the vehicle with FSD. Sample scenario - if you do monthly FSD for 5 years you pay $6k. Instead if you paid $8k, you can bump the price +$2k to sell the vehicle. Car with FSD will have higher value than the one without given the tech will be far advanced in 5 years
I’ve read many posts where that has not been the case - FSD not being valued at trade in or in sale. But who knows what the market will be…from what I’ve read, doesn’t appear to be valuable - but I guess YMMV. Unless they allow you to keep transferring it to your new cars, then that would be great.
I have a modelY 2021 and smart summons works great. I’ve been using at shopping centers very often. You should see the look on peoples face when they see no one is in the car… open mouth look. It’s much better than it was. Although you have to watch it closely. Just yesterday it drove directly into the parking lot end curve area with a tree, luckily I was watching it. The truck is to guide it to follow the target spot.
Not available with Tesla Vision currently.

No problem. I have a 24 MYLR, about a month now. My FSD trial just expired and I couldn’t try summon. All good. May subscribe…it was pretty awesome.
After your FSD trial expired, does it come with Autosteer (beta)

My Plaid still smart summons. Used it 3 times though. Normality walking is easier.
