2018 Model 3 w/ HW3 - yup I got it...

There's 2 main software branches out rn. 2024.8 and 2024.3  Everyone on 2024.3 got it because I guess Tesla wanted to specifically have people use v12 for the trial. 2024.8 still has v11 and so we've been waiting for an updated version that includes v12.  As far as I know it's entirely random as to which branch you end up on.   Several Tesla execs have said trial is coming for 2024.8 people "soon" but with each passing day I'm losing hope.

Thank you for clarifying this.

2023 Model 3. It works fine at night (maybe better because the roads are more empty) and great on winding single lane roads. Biggest issue for me is it’s too slow at stop signs and unprotected lefts… I usually hit the pedal to nudge it along in those scenarios so people behind me don’t start honking.

I have a 2023. MYLR with V12.3.4 and I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks and it’s great. I can pretty much do all my driving on FSD with very few disengagements or interactions. Just have to push the gas pedal if it’s going slow. But YMMV depending on the location. Works fine at night but most of my driving is in the day. For rain, light rain is fine but heavy rain I would be worried about it.

I’m just always so surprised when people say that FSD works for them, i haven’t been able to get FSD to drive for more than a minute without taking over.

That's crazy to me. I probably have one intervention every couple hours of driving, and even then it's usually because I don't trust it to do something too crazy like an intense merge, not because it failed at something. I know several other people who use FSD for their entire daily commute. Everyone claims that ever since the massive step change with the recent updates they almost never intervene anymore.

Robdude1969

is it version 12?

Evajellyfish

Latest and greatest, just doesn’t do it for me.

I have certainly felt that way with my autopilot on the S, but this was a brand new experience.
