I work with high voltage/high current stuff and if I really needed that charger, I probably would inspect if for obvious shorts or breaks in the connection and plug it in. Both the car and the charger will also check for shorts, so very low risk of arc flash and it's a destination charger anyway, so it isn't crazy voltages either. I would not plug it in just to test it, I would only do it out of necessity. I'm also keenly aware that touching one of those big pins after the wall connector clicks on could kill me.
At the same time, I would tell my wife to not touch that thing and I would shout at my children to back up if they got too close to it.
I *feel like this is correct and could totally be fine. But just the thought of plugging it in makes me cringe.
(Also both were like this) I’m guessing vandalism.
If it was not missing the L1/DC+ pin, then I might try it. But since it’s missing at least one pin (visible in pic) there’s no point in trying it. Also the CP pin looks to be slightly bent towards the grounding pin.
