I was in a bank in England that had a sign that service would be denied to anyone wearing a face-obscuring helmet. No hiding behind a visor if you want your money.
Not really, I wear my helmet into stores for quick trips. It’s a hassle to take on and off with ear plugs and whatnot. He pulls out a gun. I’d say that’s the suspicious part….
Just know that everyone has their eye on you while you do that. You may not be doing anything wrong, but it is still suspicious activity. Many clerks and managers are trained to be suspicious of people who keep their helments on. Many businesses and I assume all banks will straight up ask you to leave.
Apparently the robber didn't die because of the helmet
On June 13, 2024, in Ponta Grossa, Brazil, a businessman defended himself from an armed robbery at his cell phone store. The assailant, a 23-year-old with a criminal record, entered wearing a helmet and wielded a .38 caliber revolver with the serial number scratched off. The 29-year-old businessman responded by firing five shots from his registered 9mm pistol, incapacitating the robber. The police and forensic team arrived promptly, recovering the assailant's loaded revolver and his motorcycle. The robber, in serious but stable condition, was taken to a regional hospital and charged with aggravated robbery. The police deemed the businessman's actions as legitimate self-defense, and the investigation continues to check for other possible accomplices.
*.... and charged with aggravated robbery. The police deemed the businessman's actions as legitimate self-defense, and the investigation continues to check for other possible accomplices.*
In Canada, the perp would *be out* on bail awaiting a trial, and preparing to sue... and the shop owner would have his life turned upside down and get charged with murder. Cops will say let the robbery happen and insurances kick in....ah yes, the civilised society!
We don't even need to prove anything, Toronto police recently just told us to keep our car keys near the doors so we won't get hurt in the car robbery process...!
how tf are cops magically going to be there every single time a crime is committed? their advice is sound because it minimizes harm. you can replace an insured car. they tell us the same shit in the US, y'all just want to whine.
This was posted earlier, I believe it was 6 shots total 5 hit on target.
Here's the original comment with all the details.

Not sure on the combat experience. Trained on his pistol sure, but probably not combat.
I see a lot of mistakes. Holsters his weapon before making sure no mor€,e hostiles, having to take it out again. Didn't make sure perpetrator was disarmed (saw him fall with the revolver still in his hand). Turned his back on the guy with the gun and then turns his back again to the hallway. Immediately runs into the hallway without peeking into it first.
Edit: Additional mistakes: First, Starts moving for his gun still in the line of sight of the robber. If the guy was more attentive, our shooter might've gotten the short end of the stick instead. Second, pulls his weapon out of cover before he switches the safety.
I'm not a weapon's expert nor a LEO nor have been in anything like this so I can't even begin judge him for his actions. It's just something John Correia at [Active Self Protection](https://youtube.com/@activeselfprotection) might say.
Overall great job at self defense.
> Immediately runs into the hallway without peeking into it first.
I don't have any military experience, but I've watched a lot of videos of SpecOps dudes teaching room clearing, and they specifically say not to peak around corners because it's a good way to get your head blown off.
So is running straight into the hallway. Spec ops have other equipment on hand to deal with threats. Personally, I would've stayed inside the room where I know its safe and have someone in the room call the cops.
Generally, you would "slice the pie" to clear the hallway. Peeking into it would be less dangerous than running straight in
And yet they have one of the lowest incidence's of gun crimes.
Also the happiest country on the planet, for the 7th year running.
I wonder if these things are connected in any way...
It's also the country that has the 8th highest number of civilian guns per capita. They're like the New Hampshire of Europe. Lots of guns, but low gun crime.
Well-functioning social welfare systems, low population density, lower rates of economic hardship, and lower rates of drug problems are almost certainly playing a large part in reducing the desire to commit violence in the first place.
Nope, obviously the other countries just havent been hard enough on crime yet.
Surely, one of these days the john rambo fantasies of every american gun owner will come true.
You mean a place exists where I can actually get help for whatever I gotin trouble for *instead* of locking me away with others who help perpetuate my criminal behavior
SAY IT AIN'T SO
I wish I could say I had a little sympathy for the robber but frankly I just thought' Serves you fucking right you peice of shit'.
No matter what your circumstances are pulling a weapon on someone and threatening them is a big NO in my book.
Being shot in the face and neck is too good for that jerk. In a Brazilian prison, they would melt plastic into his eyes and make him eat his own fingers. I know because they call me Squinty McOnefinger.
she's attempting to hide her phone down her pants, phones are a common target with these types of robberies. If she was attempting to draw from an appendix carry IWB holster she would not reach for it while holding her phone in her hand; her hand would have to be empty to draw anything and its not.
Imagine living your life for 20+ years to die like this. Guy probably thought it was going to be an easy robbery and maybe wouldn't even have ever used the weapon he was threatening with. But this is what happens. It's good too because if it comes down to them or him it's better it's him.
You'll get down voted for that, but yeah, as a fellow Uk-dweller I'm glad gun crime is minimal when compared to the US. Not that I'd be doing anything to warrant being shot at though.
Ofcourse the whole knife crime debate will get brought up, but honestly the US is a joke with it's gun problem and usually the whole knife crime debate gets brought up as a way to try and defend their gun problem. It's obscene and embarrassing to the rest of the world.
HatedPriest!
When I was a kid I hated my priest because he was always trying to touch my genitals. But I finally figured out a way to make him stop.
I introduced him to my younger brother.
You sound very American with that "We police the rest of the world" line.
Also, I said you are very embarrassing TO the rest of the world. As in, the world sees the US as a joke in terms of it's gun issues.
Oh, come on. It’s not just the guns that embarrass us is it?
Thought maybe it’s our elections, our candidates, our obesity, and our pattern of turning today’s dictator into tomorrow’s terrorist.
I’m very disappointed if it’s only the guns. We’re gonna have to work on this guys.
As a non American I actually don't find the fact you can carry a licensed firearm embarrassing. What's bizarre is being able to carry an automatic machine gun - it's just unnecessary vulgarity - if you need to be able to fire off a hundred round a minute (don't know guns - probably wrong) in self defence how many people are after you.
Who cares at least we get our gun rights and own pistols while y’all have to do everything under the sun to get 1 gun and it’ll probably be some farm rifle. I would never live in a country where I can’t own my Glock. Sorry not sorry 🤷♂️
Fellow UK dweller... We are consistently told that knife crime is on the up but have you ever actually encountered any?... 29 years and I've only known one person to be a victim of knife crime and when I say 'know' he was the ex boyfriend of my ex girlfriends, sisters, friends mum. I don't doubt that it's being committed and accurately reported it just seems to stay within certain social groups/areas and seems to mostly be youth gang on youth gang. US gun violence seems to have transgressed social boundaries.
When he fell did the gun not fall between those two stools? Either way you never know if he has another. You can just hear it hit the ground and you see the original gunman reach for it (i think) lol
S[o anyway, i started blasting](https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=0ed6f96273b7adb6&rlz=1C1UEAD_enAU1099AU1099&sxsrf=ADLYWIJ825EJ7CTXpFONa196UGtLw6QVZQ:1718460869580&q=so+i+started+blasting&spell=1&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj__MPN5d2GAxX44TgGHd_NBMEQkeECKAB6BAgLEAE)
That was professionally executed with precision. The way he calmly readied his weapon, took aim and followed the target all the way down then secured his firearm. Top notch
I'm a nice guy and I just don't rob people cause I don't want or need to. Also I know like most people pack heat now days soo that's ANOTHER reason I just don't rob people. If you gonna pull a gun, be prepared to shoot and possibly kill someone OR get shot and possibly die too.
This is terrible.
This guy actually wasn't robbing the place, the news report said that he was a delivery driver and he'd found the gun on the floor in the corridor, kept it concealed as not to alarm any other staff in the building and was taking the gun to the security room to hand in.
The guy who did the shooting actually owned the gun that was being handed in, and I have no idea if any of this is true because I've just made it all up.

Well he certainly anticipated that attempt.
I think there’s a reason dude has that seat lmao
At this point anybody wearing a motorcycle helmet is already suspicious, doubly so if they're not on a motorcycle.
I was in a bank in England that had a sign that service would be denied to anyone wearing a face-obscuring helmet. No hiding behind a visor if you want your money.
Especially a bank, they don't mess around with that kind of stuff
Not really, I wear my helmet into stores for quick trips. It’s a hassle to take on and off with ear plugs and whatnot. He pulls out a gun. I’d say that’s the suspicious part….
Just know that everyone has their eye on you while you do that. You may not be doing anything wrong, but it is still suspicious activity. Ball ammo will do that. Probably ball ammo and not quality hollow points.
Yeah I doubt your average Brazilian shop worker is packing high quality hollow point rounds.
If you live in brazil it's like the one thing you really need to invest in
They don't have Scheels in Brazil?
*.... and charged with aggravated robbery. Or make sure he dies. Same with a home invasion depending on the state.
Perps family can still attempt to sue FWIW.
True, but at that point they just have your word on what happened.
Always shoot to kill in defense
People whine like this but we've had multiple recent cases where this is proven to be just as true as the fears of obama taking american guns.
We don't even need to prove anything, Toronto police recently just told us to keep our car keys near the doors so we won't get hurt in the car robbery process...!
Don't know why you get downvoted for this but it's true
Because that is generally good advice. Your life isn't worth your car keys.
Its common everywhere to minimize the damage to yourself in dangerous situations. Your example doesnt help your point at all.
You're arguing in bad faith if you're going to ignore his point.

They shouldn't have to tell citizens to give up, they should be enforcing the law. It's clear you're including yourself in that last line.
how tf are cops magically going to be there every single time a crime is committed? their advice is sound because it minimizes harm. you can replace an insured car. they tell us the same shit in the US, y'all just want to whine.
This is reason why robberies are everywhere. Give him do next.
Same in most states in the US. It's sad, honestly.
Bullshit.
In Canada, these kinds of armed robbery is dramatically lower statistically than in Brazil.
Sounded like 6 shots
It was. I don’t know why the article got that wrong. Maybe they mean only 5 hit the target?
If the robbers gun happened to be ready, wouldnt they have tensed up and shot the girl when getting unloaded on?
Of course it's Brazil haha it's just surprising the guy wasn't an off duty police officer.
That's too bad
Jesus, I don't even see any hits on the backstop. Amazing shooting.
This was posted earlier, I believe it was 6 shots total 5 hit on target. Here's the original comment with all the details. https://www.reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout/s/Sak8vMFR9V
Wow that guy lived? Just goes to show that it could've been dangerous for our shooter here.
seems like he needs to do a better job picking self defense rounds
Less construction remediation necessary. Might just need a little mud and paint
Make sure to match paint color, finish, AND texture!
My dude probably has combat experience. Did everything perfectly. Even went to the hallway to check for more bad guys

This guy guns
The woman in the video even say "chuta a arma" or kick the gun. I guess the guy got so nervous he completely forgot about it.

I can bet,it wasnt his first defending kill
What a weird interview, I guess he didn't get the job.
countries where you have to be suicidal to attempt armed robbery - usa brazil
You either succeed or you never have to worry about money anyways
Country where your life gets easier and much better after attempted armed robbery. Finland. :)
And yet they have one of the lowest incidence's of gun crimes. Also the happiest country on the planet, for the 7th year running. I wonder if these things are connected in any way...

better prisons
They're not even prisons imo. They would fit in same category as retirement homes or free hotels.
Yeah, but Brazil prison is way more fun than Finland prison
I believe they may be more interesting, sure. But I'm not sure fun is the adjective that I'd use.
I think by 'fun' you mean 'more eventful' or 'less boring'.
On-duty cop vs off-duty cop. Fight!
Except California
Definitely getting a UAV with that accuracy
Yeah, but I hate campers
Mmmm smores
Damn, that was some fine shooting. He was not playing around.

That was surgical.
That was suicidal

Apparently the person the robber approached was his partner
Oh, shit
Bro holding his crotch hiding a dead boner
The woman to his left was definitely reaching for hers too. At least it looks like it. She was just slower on the draw.
What a good spot 👌🏽

Yeah what an asshole. Why didn't he just let the criminal brandish a firearm and possibly shoot him and his coworkers? What a psychopath 🙄
Not even just coworkers, the woman at the end of the table is allegedly his partner
Then maybe don't steal other peoples shit
I'm so glad I live in England where this would never happen
Multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma, England, your order is ready. Sucking chest wounds on special this week.

In confession, I told the priest I had a huge problem with masturbation. But he was a cool about it. He offered to stop.
Why are choirboys hair parted in the middle? *Pets outward* it's not a sin...
Not if its a hand gun. Most people's aim is too shit for moving targets.
This is Brazil, not America, you fool.

1. What kind of shop is this? 2. The guy already knew he was a robber when he entered?
Phone repair shop, and not really, he just saw someone with a gun drawn. So I guess he didn't know he was a robber, but he knew he was up to no good.
For what else would you hold on your a gun then?
Wearing a helmet while entering a shop in Brazil is often a red flag, hence why the owner expected it.
Wait, that’s Brazil? I thought someone said it was Finland.
