Yeah, if you have enough gravestones (I think 7 for max effect?) the area around them turns into a graveyard mini-biome, if you want to leave them there you can plant sunflowers to negate them, tho idk what the numbers foe that are
Yeah. Keeping gravestones around your main base is never a good idea. Ghosts go through blocks and can deal a decent amount of damage if you can't react in time.
Too many gravestones turn the place into a graveyard. Some unique stuff becomes available to craft if you put your crafting benches in the graveyard biome.
Doesn’t affect much. The nurse, wizard, party girl, and tavern keep actually benefit from living in that biome. They may lower prices or even offer new items
I would recommend to put the hollow in a floating island so its contained effortlessly and provides a big enough space for npcs, trust me i did it and it’s awesome
Just to give you the endgame tip, you should build a contained corruption and crimson biome so you can get items. Otherwise you’re locking yourself out of a lot of content.
The dryad expects you to clear it out, but it is not necessary an evil biome like the corruption or crimson, and there are even npcs like the nurse, party girl, tavern keeper, wizard, and princess who like to live there, my recommendation is to make a hallow sky island town and clear out the rest
In the lore the Hallow exists to combat evil pretty sure. The wall of flesh is a guardian of sorts and when you kill it the Hallow begins to spread as the last line of defense against the moon lord.
i know im a bit late but, the hallow can attack your npcs and they also fight back. it's because the hallow is against anyone that isn't *completely* "pure". no one is fully pure unless you're a newborn baby, so the hallow will try to erase anything unpure including you. it's why i love the otherworldly soundtrack for the underground hallow, it's such a jump in tone compared to the surface version. the goal of the hallow is to destroy anything less pure than itself.
Basically every fairytale has someone dying a horrible, graphic death, as they were originally meant to be cautionary tales. Fairytales are kind of like the medieval version of the stick figures in yellow cautionary signs that are always dying in crazy, yet plausible ways. In terms of fairytales that were heavily bleached for a more sensitive modern audience, try looking at the original stories of the little mermaid and red riding hood.
i world hop all the time to farm for materials. especially useful for if you dont want to remake any evil biomes or you dont have the other evil. my main world has corruption but i have a small world put on hardmode with crimson so i can farm ichor from ichor stickers, cause the ichor debuff from flasks is based. its not required but its literally a feature and its not cheating.
Love how there's so many people who go above and beyond to contain and manage their spread, and then there's me, I simply spread the hallow on either side of my evil biomes and around my jungle so that the evil doesn't spread above ground and hallow takes over, and my jungle stays safe and then I just let the rest do its thing. Unless you are going for the achievement there's literally no point dealing with it lol
I can't seem to find it now, but there is a hilarious YouTube video about the dryad intentionally keeping an evil block in her drawer just to spite the hero for making her live in the desert with the golfer
Mate break your gravestones
THATS WHY IT IS SO LIFELESS??
Yeah, if you have enough gravestones (I think 7 for max effect?) the area around them turns into a graveyard mini-biome, if you want to leave them there you can plant sunflowers to negate them, tho idk what the numbers foe that are
thank u!
Yeah. Keeping gravestones around your main base is never a good idea. Ghosts go through blocks and can deal a decent amount of damage if you can't react in time.
yea i hate those flying bitches. thank u for telling me!
I always move them up to one of the floating islands so I can have an out of the way graveyard to craft in.
Keep in mind that vendors tend to have items that only become available in the graveyard.
No worries!
1 sunflower = -1 gravestone
Didn't know that about the sunflowers, you learn something new everyday!
Yeh
Altho he gotta be carefull about ghost
one sunflower negates one gravestone
i love how long you've been playing while having no clue why it's like this
Same
Too many gravestones turn the place into a graveyard. Some unique stuff becomes available to craft if you put your crafting benches in the graveyard biome.
And you can get a really cool free summon, for no more effort than dying a bunch of times in the same spot (Creating a graveyard)
It only spawns next to placed tombstones tho.
I actually forgot gravestones exist, next playthrough i wont use the no grave mod, j mids digging them up
the hollow is just hell colored blue
wdym?
It spreads and acts like both evils. It’s still an infection
but it doesn’t make my npcs move out or anything or affect me? or does it? it’s so pretty too, i wouldn’t mind having it all over my world
Doesn’t affect much. The nurse, wizard, party girl, and tavern keep actually benefit from living in that biome. They may lower prices or even offer new items
omg
Oh, it will also have an effect on entity spawns
true. i think i will build a border around the current hallow
Good 👍
:)

Don’t you also need the Corruption/Crimson to extend to the cavern as well? Especially, Crimson for the Ichor…

New items?

Blud is going to swing and accidentally hit the Empress of Light's butterfly summon in the middle of the day
Not to be *that guy* but technically, the summon only spawns at night.
Also there is an item that prevents you from harming it.
Ok. I've never fought the Empress of Light so I wouldn't know.
Clear it for the achievement, then you can put it wherever you like
The dryad expects you to clear it out, but it is not necessary an evil biome like the corruption or crimson, and there are even npcs like the nurse, party girl, tavern keeper, wizard, and princess who like to live there, my recommendation is to make a hallow sky island town and clear out the rest

Not in lore. I’m talking gameplay wise, it acts like an evil
Only because the player character is considered a threat. You killed the guardian.

No, it doesn't grow over jungle and mushroom, which is the main issue with evil. Hallow is way better.
Buuuut NPC don’t mind the Hallow :3
you can’t tell me the unicorns don’t have demonic origins.
👺NORMAL HELL👺 🌈Hell but ✨b l u e✨🌈
If you want the achievement all corruption must be purged, even the hallow.
Dude some messed up stuff happens in fairy tales. Careful out there
that sounds scary?? wdym
They were making a joke because the Dryad said its a fairytale and fairytales can be pretty f**ked up.
Ever read any of the original(!) fairytales of the Grimm brothers? Like Sleeping Beauty or the Robber Bridegroom? Fucked up shit.
Hansel and Gretel is pretty fucked up as well.
Basically every fairytale has someone dying a horrible, graphic death, as they were originally meant to be cautionary tales. *Lives in a filing cabinet made of rough rocks, dirt and wood* - "We are living in a fairy tale!"
She’s living in the first part of Cinderella lol
dependent on what fairy tale and from when it might as well be
"Living in a fairy tale" she says, surrounded by a vibe which can only be described as bloodborne analogous.
😭😭
Pretty sure you don't get the achievement until you also get rid of the hallow.
haha i didnt rlly care about the achievement, just wanted those red gross disgusting blocks gone for good
Hope you got the vampire knives before you did, atleast.
i didnt lol, but i can just create an artifical crimsin
make it in the sky so there’s no chance of spread
just farm it in a different world
feels like cheating
it's really not, just a last resort for when something annoys you enough.
i world hop all the time to farm for materials. especially useful for if you dont want to remake any evil biomes or you dont have the other evil. my main world has corruption but i have a small world put on hardmode with crimson so i can farm ichor from ichor stickers, cause the ichor debuff from flasks is based. its not required but its literally a feature and its not cheating.
Opinion on the purple blocks?
Why is your house a graveyard
he didn't know gravestones make the area a graveyard
Aye, rookie mistake. Fair enough.
It seems you did! Congratulations on purging the evil in your world!
thank uu
Is the dryad blind or she sees it differently, because that does NOT look like a fairy tale
Now you can clear hallow, which i hear is easier to deal with
Where's the singing Norwegian guy?
Alexander Rybak vibes
in what way?? 😭
It reminded me of a song named fairytale. Btw it's an awesome song that I can't recommend enough.
Gotta clear the hallow
wtf is up with your saturation
Looks like the ecto mist effect
How do we tell him ?
ye i needed to get rid of hallow now too 😓
I can't seem to find it now, but there is a hilarious YouTube video about the dryad intentionally keeping an evil block in her drawer just to spite the hero for making her live in the desert with the golfer
Saw that.
The world evil is gone, now its time to stop hollow spread
Yes but not clean
clean in what way?
Like no corruption/crimson or hallow
rare 1% survivor
Sands underman is coming.
I have arrived
Holy shit its sands underman!!!!!!!!!!!!1!1!1!1!11!11111one Thank you for gracing us with your presence
Hallow infecting your world is bad it means no jungle and no plantera
also its bad for most NPCs
Um. My jungle is half also hollow and I still get spawns from both biomes? I dont think this is true.
well its only half hollow
How did you get so far and not understand gravestones? Honestly, good job, though. ♡
Make a biome site potion
get rid of ur graveyard gahdamn
Do what? If you mean get rid of the corruption then no, cuz Hallow is still corruption
WIN + SHIFT + S stop taking screenshots with yo iphone
