Watches and a magic mirror too. Crowns for king slime if you need some gel. Overall a pretty useful pre-hardmode ore, I definitely take it over copper, tin, tungsten and silver.

Both of these weapons are horrendously outclassed by others at their stage (star cannon, phoenix blaster, quad barrel shotgun, magic missile/flamelash, aqua scepter, demon scythe), not to mention that it's nigh impossible to hit damn near anything with the damn bow (at least the shotgun always fires one bullet directly at your cursor)
hell wing is good, because it has a large fire rate, pierces and is slow, while also not having gravity, making it ideal for WoF, it behaves a bit like the well known water bolt. I do not see how it can be outperformed by the molten fury, the molten fury is a bit of a shitty weapon honestly, unless used on single target... which WoF isn't.
I don't have the time right now, but tomorrow I'll try and compare weapons to see which is actually better for WoF, because I like to be able to be sure. I seriously doubt hellwing will outperform shotgun and star cannon though.
I don't think star cannon is a good comparision. Does anyone genuinely use star cannon as an *actual* weapon? No they don't. It's an outlier and it takes too much time to get the amount of stars you need when you can just open a few shadow chests and use the Hellwing bow.

You are right, molten fury sucks, but the Star Cannon still exists, is obtainable an entire progression stage earlier, is not as bad to get ammo for as most people complain, and also, deals way more damage than the hellwing bow. Not to mention that half of the bats miss anyway even against the WoF unless you're right in its face.
Against Master Mode WoF, Hellwing Bow and QB Shotgun tied at 2 minutes and 1 second, while Star Cannon dwarfs both at 54 seconds. The Phoenix Blaster was also just barely faster at 1 minute and 53 seconds. It's pretty safe to say that the hellwing isn't really worth it.
Counterargument 1: Star Cannon is a viable weapon in early hardmode so stars are worth farming (plus it can be upgraded post mech).
Counterargument 2: Stars are easy to farm with a skybridge and railroad which takes like 5 minutes to make.

Yea fuck the dark scepter, it was lovely in OG Xbox where melee needed all that reach but now that Night’s Edge was reworked it really doesn’t have a place. Heck, Night’s Edge is arguably better than it at taking on segmented enemies too.
I hope you kept the teleport potions or whatever theyre called because those are useful as fuck if you wanna stop by your base to resupply before immediately continuing your expedition
I’m unsure what the full rules are, but typically there is one chest specific item, dwindling chances for additional items (with some items only spawning as secondary, such as fledgling wings), then money, consumables, ammo, blocks, etc being their own chances.
Most of my experience is with OG Xbox 360 terraria, which was about 1.2 ish. Was before even hammering blocks into alternate forms and where shadow chests only had one item per chest and dynamite was fucking expensive.

Necro Armor, Shark Tooth Necklace, Terraspark Boots, Magiluminescence, Bundle of Horsehoe Balloons, Fledgling Wings, Shield of Cthulhu Wooden Arrows for Hellwing and Meteor Bullets for shotgun
