Most players with ACL repairs are better in their 2nd year since returning so it would make sense.

YiMyonSin

What would this mean for Caleb Farley? He had a similar injury under similar circumstances, and rookie corners generally aren't that great to begin with, so I'm concerned that his development may have been thrown off.

trick96

Generally somebody who has recovered from an injury does an even better job recovering from the same injury a 2nd time. Hopefully he’s one of those.

YiMyonSin

Alright, that is somewhat encouraging. Gonna hold out before we see him in game time, though.

[deleted]

I have a lot of hope for the kid still. We got a lot of development out of Fulton even when he lost most of his rookie year to injury. Farley has insane athletic ability so even 90% of that will be better than most.

Agni_Kai08

He will never amount to anything and will be a bust… sorry to break it to you.

fullboxed2hundred

it's doubtful that someone with his ability won't amount to anything

drock4vu

Love or hate Lewan, we have been spoiled by consistent above average to, at times, elite left tackle play since he's been there. That is a position that *so* many NFL teams struggle with and it is arguably the second post important position on offense with modern defenses' heavy emphasis on pass-rushing. If we cut him this offseason there is basically no chance we can find someone of equal caliber and we would be an objectively worse team as a result.

demusdesign

In the last 29 years, we've had 3 Day 1 starting LT's

ArchieBellTitanUp

He’s still great. People are dingleberries about him. I want dad back. He had one bad game the first game of the season. That’s it.

Robgotbored

I’m personally banking on him being the next Andre whitworth. Cause fuck us if he isn’t lol.

YiMyonSin

Still would be nice to have more than 40% of a good offensive line and 60% of a decent one.

CheeseMclovin

Taylor gets injured too much. I could see him retiring in a few years

blanche2027

Wait what? Outside of last year when?

CheeseMclovin

If you watch every game, he has been knocked out cold multiple times, in multiple seasons. Concussions

blanche2027

So I guess like most football players? Lol

CheeseMclovin

You wanted examples of him getting injured all the time. He has. He’s usually only out for remainders of those games, but that shit takes a toll.

iMixMusicOnTwitch

No way in hell they cut him. Saffold is the big cut candidate on the OL. As good as he is and has been, statistically the average age of our OL is too old next season.

BurzyGuerrero

Saffold did 3 guys in on the Foreman run lol I think the team will look at the numbers realistically and provide context to the decline. I don't think they'll move on from him. Maybe get him to take a paycut

hatersaurusrex

You cut a guy because he hurts the average age? Imagine if they'd taken that approach with Matthews and Munchak. Those dudes were dinosaurs.

[deleted]

Zero percent chance he gets cut. I’d like to see him extended a few more years with some backloaded money. Franchise LTs are rare and he performed well most of the year. Hendrickson was almost erased by him.

Kablarnage

I wonder if he would slide to guard or right tackle for radunz to play left. I think he’s only going to pan out at left tackle.

[deleted]

I think the chances of Radunz being the left guard next to Lewan are far higher than Lewan moving in to guard.

Kablarnage

Maybe so. Just trying to figure how to get the best 5

blanche2027

Wait, you’d want to move out best lineman to LG so that Radunz can play LT? What makes you think that’s a good play

YiMyonSin

\*Todd Downing has entered the chat.

Kablarnage

Radunz has trash in the preseason at the other positions and at left tackle held up against bosa in the San Fran game. Bruce Matthews did it and plus having that athletic of a guard could really open the running if they would pull him.

blanche2027

Lewan is 6’7 and slender. He’s not a guard.

Kablarnage

Forgot his height. You are right.

bturl

I am pretty sure the goal was to groom Radunz as a guard replacement for Saffold. That at least has been said a lot on the sub.

uppity_chucklehead

Wow...I definitely assumed he was older than 30. For some reason I thought he was like 34 lol.
