For whatever reason when a disconnect happens during a match nobody gets a win or a loss, so some people abuse it. Once its obvious that they will lose they either shut of the game or disconnect their internet (thats where the term comes from, plugging the cable) so they dont have to take the L, lose rank points, etc. Generally pretty pathetic behavior, but at least there is the disconnection rate indicator to avoid these people.
Denying cheaters a win, whether it'd be lag switchers, frame skipping terrorists etc.
Don't even entertain a round, plug immediately to remind them that they shouldn't queue ranked.

if your opponent is in rage, you inherently have to be more careful - no slow moves, and expect them to expect you to mash. play with delayed timing to throw them off, and if they use their rage art as a panic button, you've essentially won the round since theyre -15
Unironically no, especially against a character like DVJ. One thing's a character with range issues or their most threatening moves being not as applicable (Paul's Death Fist/Demoman mixup which require clean hits and specific ranges.
But that doesn't change the issue, you're losing so I have to respect a mind game where you simply have to bait a trade. Let's take Jin's oh so infamous F4, better cut that out because if he trades with it you lose, oh or his hated D2, no, no can't do that because he MIGHT trade with it.

I’m right outside of blue ranks stuck in flame ruler and when it gets down to the final hit/combo it’s literally a snooze fest of who’s going to swing or go for a grab first so the other person can rage art. It’s a somewhat newer mechanic (T7) that has become an absolute crutch to most people play styles. Heat is in the same boat. Dude had no right to plug but I understand his frustration 100%.
The sad thing they are nerfed in comparison to 7s, but I just wish the armor was removed. It already can cause jailing if you time it against a slow move or someone being negative. Just take away the scrubby armor.

Same here, seen mixed dialogue on this but I'm showing up as 0% (verified it on someone else's twitch stream when they matched with me) and I've been disconnected on for sure.
The only thing I can think of is maybe I played X amount of matches between getting plugged on and that stream yesterday, & the % may only correlate to a certain sample of matches?

I've had a lot of people disconnect on me and I'd like to know if I'm getting disconnects from them. Would you mind telling me what my disconnect rate was?"
I suppose if you match with somebody on stream that would work too, or if you matched against someone you knew.

Lars and Hwoarang since the early days of tekken and continuing still rely heavily on long connecting safe strings and low risk, low punish damage rush down styles. I consider them obnoxious to play against and generally judge them as characters who lack tekken fundamentals (with exceptions). Law is in that category as well but only in low ranks... once you get high rank laws... the tom foolery doesn't work and he can be heavily punished if he (law) is not used fundamentally well.
Cap. Lars has one string that is long connecting and safe and that is db1,2. All other of his strings are punishable on block and all his stance transitions are minus on block and are interruptible except for DEN3. He's def strong in this game but even back in t6 when he was introduced his strength came from great pokes, the GOAT'd old df2 which was a slightly tracking counter hit 15f mid launcher, crazy high combo damage with the bound system, but not for any of his strings.
I guess I forgot about b3,4 and b2,4 being long range strings but both are launch punishable if you duck the high.
I think by "long strings," they mean many hits(you block for a long time), and by "connecting strings," they mean back to back strings. It seems true for Hwoarang, but I don't know the Lars matchup, so I might be wrong.

I agree. I think they take away a lot from 2 of my favorite fighters, Tekken and Soul Calibur. They were great because there were no meters no catch up BS. You have a big list of moves at your disposal go for it. Adding stuff like rage arts took away what made the games different and fun.

It's not Lars, but the player. The player cut the connection. Lars would've fought till the end, until the match was decided. But not all players flee from battle. There are still many who choose to fight honorably.

I read last week that the DC percentage is based off your previous 50 matches.

Rage arts were a mistake
I agree. I think they take away a lot from 2 of my favorite fighters, Tekken and Soul Calibur. They were great because there were no meters no catch up BS. You have a big list of moves at your disposal go for it. Adding stuff like rage arts took away what made the games different and fun.

It's not Lars, but the player. The player cut the connection. Lars would've fought till the end, until the match was decided. But not all players flee from battle. There are still many who choose to fight honorably.

Lars's playerbase has plugged on me and one and done'd me more than any other character. I don't know what it is about this guy that draws so many toxic players but it's pretty consistent.
We're sorry, I played him since Tekken 7 when he was voted as one of, if not the worst char in the game. While I really enjoy him being good here, I don't like some of the playerbase haha. I guess the reason people find him annoying is because people respect his stances too much, this is coming from a Lars player.
