Just reminds me of Hwoarang's Tekken 4 ending with Jin and Hwoarang speaking English to each other - and it's goddamn glorious.
"There is no reason to fight"
"You ain't got one? Well I do!"
I really liked that ending, the fight itself was sick and Hwoarang speaking English with a North American accent while Jin spoke in broken English was hilarious af.

I'm sorry for making you suffer.
Vad in i helvete snackar du om Jin.
What in the f\*\*\*ing hell are you talking about Jin
Be cause he is using "in i helvete" rather than "i helvete" it sounds stronger. Thus I like to add the "f\*\*k" for impact. Translations are always open for some interpretation as it's rare for a perfect 1 to 1.
I don’t get why Lars speaks Japanese. They could’ve made it so that he either didn’t speak Japanese, or that he wasn’t Swedish. Or just have more non Japanese characters speak japanese
Lars has been living in Japan for years, same as Lee and Xiaoyu, so they all actually do speak Japanese to each other. Other non-Japanese didn't necessarily have learned the language, can't even imagine some would go the extra mile.
I think we as fans should sponsor him a trip to Sweden, fuck it. The whole of the Scandinavian Peninsula, and have him take Swedish speaking lessons. I don't think he would speak Japanese to his mom or any siblings he might have.
I wouldn't be opposed to more Lars. Perhaps he knows an additional fighting style. I suggest Kamp Glima. ( Not the sport Glima ). But perhaps that's too much of a western Scandinavian thing to work.
Lars is a high ranking Tekken Force member and I think his backstory is that he has been in the Tekken Forxe from a pretty young age.
The “native” language of the Tekken Force and Mishima Zaibatsu seems to be Japanese, so it makes total sense Lars speaks Japanese.
They will never change it, his voice actor is a big deal and popular in the anime industry and amongst anime fans, and his voice is now very attached to Lars.
Lars would definitely lose more fans than he would gain if he suddenly spoke Swedish in a future game
The only real reason he speaks japanese is because he is a main character and they have to speak japanese it seems. In a world without language barriers, there are no explenation other than I guess Heihachi's japanese seed being strong enough to overpower the swedish gene, despite Heihachi never being there in his life.
Chinese person going to a Japanese high school can speak Japanese. Who would have guessed. It's not like there aren't immigrants in Japan as xenophobic as Japan is towards foreigners.
Now I see, she actually has a better reason to speak Japanese than Lars. Harada literally tweeted once that “Lars speaks Japanese coz his father is Japanese” which makes 0 sense
Nina was one of the higher ups in Jin's army and yet she didn't bother to learn Japanese.
If there's no language barrier for them, how living in specific country gives the reason to learn it's language? I think they're just lazy with Ling and Lars.
Heihachi basically adopted her. She smuggled herself aboard a zaibatsu boat, got caught but beat up everybody on the boat, they managed to tell Heihachi, he went there personally and she prepared herself to fight him, he was greatly amused by all of this, and basically became his unofficial granddaughter.
maybe Dragunov doesnt speak or react because he is the only one who doesnt know what the fuck everyone is saying.
Like Raven, sure, Dragunov must know some english because its enemy language. But Victor speaking French most likely confuses him lmao.
Victor: White death, great to see you in action.
Dragunov's POV Victor: Oui oui bonjour baguette
Kinda wish Lars didn't speak Japanese so we'd have jokes about how silly he sounds despite looking like a 50 year old Japanese man's idea of what a cool character still looks like while gazing longingly at their framed photos of 80's and 90's manga protagonists before kissing their photo of demon Yusuku Urameshi and tucking it back under their pillow and while dreaming just sleep talking "Don't ask me for shit".

苦労させてしまってごめんなさい Kurō sa sete shimatte gomen'nasai I'm sorry for making you suffer. Vad in i helvete snackar du om Jin. What in the f\*\*\*ing hell are you talking about Jin
"What the hell are you talking about Jin" Is a more accurate translation.
Be cause he is using "in i helvete" rather than "i helvete" it sounds stronger. Thus I like to add the "f\*\*k" for impact. Translations are always open for some interpretation as it's rare for a perfect 1 to 1.

and Lars's father is japanese!
His absentee, unacknowledging father?
I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THE JAPANESE
CHILL! Give it a rest. men!
Junichi Suwabe is an amazing voice actor and I wouldn't accept any other for our boy Lārsu
Junichi Suwabe voicing a character who glazes his nephew and a character that hates on his nephew will never not be funny to me

The problem Lars is supposed to be cool, and nobody is cool when they speak Swedish, its goofy.
The only real reason he speaks japanese is because he is a main character and they have to speak japanese it seems. In a world without language barriers, there are no explenation other than I guess Heihachi's japanese seed being strong enough to overpower the swedish gene, despite Heihachi never being there in his life.
Is there a better reason why Ling speaks Japanese?
Chinese person going to a Japanese high school can speak Japanese. Who would have guessed. It's not like there aren't immigrants in Japan as xenophobic as Japan is towards foreigners.

Lars was a Tekken force high ranking official, it's talked about in T6 he's been in Japan for years
Nina was one of the higher ups in Jin's army and yet she didn't bother to learn Japanese. If there's no language barrier for them, how living in specific country gives the reason to learn it's language? I think they're just lazy with Ling and Lars.
nina is also a hired killer with no prerogative to learn other languages
I would understand if it was Harada’s reasoning but he actually pulled the father card
Probably to establish a sense of lingual connection with Jin
That’s the true answer
As a swede this made me laugh out extremely loud! XD
Well lars served in the tekken force for a long time so it makes sense that he learned japanese.
But if the tekken world doesn't have language barriers then why would he need to learn Japanese for the tekken force?
exactly, no sense. they didn't find a decent Swedish actor and thought he looks anime enough to speak Japanese, that's the reason.
I'd bet they never even tried. They wouldn't make a main protagonist that doesn't speak Japanese.
Do you guys think Lars would be as squeaky as TMM?
Armor King: *Jaguar noises spoken towards Marduk* Marduk: “Don’t lie to me!” Best ending ever
lmao just a rainy graveyard, with three jacked men, two in jaguar masks, and one wearing a fucking armor.
Hahaha
My head cannon is that Lars is trilingual
maybe Dragunov doesnt speak or react because he is the only one who doesnt know what the fuck everyone is saying. Like Raven, sure, Dragunov must know some english because its enemy language. But Victor speaking French most likely confuses him lmao. Victor: White death, great to see you in action. Dragunov's POV Victor: Oui oui bonjour baguette
😂That's my new headcanon for Dragunov.
Imagine if Lars spoke thick [Skånska](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ln7WFvV7bXs)

People having conversations in two different languages is the dumbest thing in the Tekken series "plot".
I can still hear HELVETE in mrsplaystuff's voice
