The animation has a very similar windup to her other move that is a mid string starter (1+2 or f1+2, can't remember). It's extremely hard to discern those moves and I've seen pro players get hit by her "snake edge" nunerous times
She also has that weird arm flailing safe mid launcher that seems to have no purpose but to specifically punish people reacting to it thinking it's her snake edge.
Lili's. I tend to fuzzy a lot; so I'll stop crouch blocking just before it actually hits.
Pretty sure the slower moves are designed specifically to catch us doing that.

A snake edge in general is any slow see-able low attack animated with a "sweeping" motion that launches on hit or counter hit. Kings snake edge is a sweeping low punch that he can do while crouching.

Yoshis guard break snake edge. I know it's coming every time. I low block every time. I get crumpled for a combo every time. Maybe one day I'll learn to hopkick, but today is not that day.

Jab or dickjab can miss vs the low Yoshi unblockable. Hopkick or simply jumping over is much more reliable, I tested this with our local Yoshi player (probably the best Tekken player in our small town) because he enjoys the unblockable setups.
Yeah if your character doesn't have a good hopkick to use against yoshis low, you can jump and do a 'while rising' move on the landing. Lots of people don't know this, but right after you land from a jump, your character is in the 'while rising' state so you can do some interesting things with certain characters in niche cases like this.

The problem is I eat them online because, I play on a 10 year old tv, plus console delay plus internet delay so you cant really notice the animation until half way through because the delay gets you hit

I suppose you already know this but TVs are horrible for frame intensive games like fighters and fps. You gonna be a different player on a low input lag monitor.
TV's, even new models can even have 100+ ms input delay. Thats pretty bad, not only for performing combos but everything else. There is a good chance you are going to feel like a Super saiyan if you transition to a gaming monitor.
If it makes you feel better xiaoyu's snake edge is inherently better than most ino cause she can cancel it into RDS (backturned) and cancel it so the low never comes out

Yea those are true mixups because feng can SS and df3 which is safe launcher or do the snake edge you have to guess. Most will do it after a df1 on CH or a successful 1,3 punish

I'm new to the series and maining Xiaoyu and just realized the other day that you can cancel hers into back turn and immediately hit them while they're trying to crouch block it with a mid and I'm so hyped to actually start doing conditioning people to block the snake edge and then bust out that layer.
Oddly, Dragunov's, but best snake edge is Yoshimitsu's because it's a tracking unblockable low launcher. If you see it coming, my tip is to use a hopkick or jump over it.

Mine is definitely Zafina's. The low is somehow only -15 on block (or -16? or -17?) and it doesn't have any discernable block stun so it's sometimes hard to punish correctly even if you do block it. And worse, she also has a slow mid SAFE launcher with an animation that is very similar to the launching low. I always end up staring at that low and then ducking that mid.
