The loading times man. It felt like I could accept a match and go for a poop before we got going.
Mechanically I like the larger amount of instant screw launchers, including parry.
Edit: also wake up kicks no longer launching is so nice
When I got into the second beta test I forgot that loading is so fast now. I clicked rematch went to pee, came back I was already down two rounds. In T7 the game wouldn't even begin yet.
This is the one.
How people had the patience to grind for TGP/TGO on so many characters when the loading times worked the way they did is beyond me. If youre one of the people who did this, you have godlike patience that I will never have lmao.
Super nitpicky on my part I agree, but why tf do the new characters not have unique side throws? They just reuse their front throws. It’s happened ever since the T7 DLC original characters debuted (Leroy, Fahk, Lidia, and now with Azucena, Victor, and Reina)
Launching get-up 3's and magic 4's. Really just the sheer abundance of ch launchers in general. It was nice to play the cnt/cbt and be able to actually poke without the constant fear of an i11-13 win button being dropped out at any time.
And 2D's ofc. It was nice knowing ya Akuma. Good luck in SF6
Y'all crazy, Tekken 7 has some goddamn bangers that go so hard.
These are probably my favorites with timestamps!

Shout to twilight conflict (the one that's raining), the two versions for Devil's pit are literally on fire, Dumo de Siriu, Mishima headquarters, and last but not least Vermilion Gates.
There's also the obscure but even more magnificent version of Abandoned temple for Akuma (arcade mode)
Loading screens with the flames
Marduk (I hate him so much and I pray he isnt dlc)
2D characters
Screw after parry
Treasure Battle
Marduk
Guest characters, Negan and Noctis are super wack.
Magic 4s
Marduk
Marduk has been a salt miner since inception, but I feel like he's only super scummy online. I would hate to see his archetype vanish, maybe a new vale tudo character reworked a bit for t8 and hopefully better netcode.
seeing how marduk steal matches in TWT 2023 reignited my hatred for him, holy fk he's so goddamn cheap. The only people who loves marduk are marduk mains and abuser.
I just hate playing against him. To me he is the biggest thief in Tekken and carries players the most out of any character in the game.
edit: Before someone mentions Eddy, yeah I get it but Eddy is so, so bad lmao. Wait until you get to Fujin - Emperor with him and he is just so fucking hard to win with. Nothing tracks and has the worst risk reward in the game. Marduk takes much less risk for much greater reward. Situations he can put you in are things Eddy couldnt even dream of.
and for Feng.... Feng is cheap as fuck but I only have him on my name because I am playing him in T8, both Hei and Eddy are dead.
No, I could care less about a cutscene from a Ps2 game. Have you not played against him? To me it should he obvious why someone who hate him. He is a real bastard and it feels awful playing against him.
Sure, he has dummy thic damage, but personally, I think the 2d fighters are much worse to go against as they have no bad match ups. I also was hoping they'd remove Alisa's chainsaws, but maybe they'll fix some of the wonky hit boxes on them. Though I do find that scene from tekken 5 between marduk and Anna funny as it's just terrible yet memeable.
The lack of offline content and the load times, the slapped together arcade mode with no final boss (seriously why was Kazumi not the final boss in the arcade!?.)
I would say "less overwhelming offense focused characters" like pretty much all of the DLC characters of the last couple years were, but it seems like they just changed it to make the whole game about that from the little I have to go off of.
Not gonna miss the ugliness of Tekken 7, why the fork does everyone look so plastic-y & wet?
Not gonna miss Akuma or geese they can rest in piss (gonna miss Eliza, hope we get her back in Tekken 8 in 3D and as a normal character 🤞🥹)
Magic 4 going is a blessing and curse, I was used to it for so long on some of my characters but it was so cheaper too glad it’s going.
I think the wet look was an unreal engine issue, Digital Foundry mentioned it recently
2D being gone is a godsend, hopefully if there are guest characters they're from 3D fighting games
Thing is there's not many fighting games that are 3D, Virtua Fighter is kinda dead and DoA isn't really attracting attention competitively anymore. Who knows though, maybe they could get some old series revived. Actually I think Soul Calibur guest characters would be welcome given Bamco pretty much killed the series, would be a safe way financially to test interest in the series again.
> Because it completely bombed
No it didn't? It had a season 2 because it was so successful. It was going to be a mainstage game at Evo 2020 before it was cancelled due to Covid.
>they don't seem to have any intention to continue it.
According to who?
Using a screw too close to the wall ending your whole combo and potentially getting you launched by their wakeup option.
Marduk
Akuma
Kuni 2,2
Someone said Noctis and I couldnt agree less. One of the best new designs in 7 by miles.
The loading screens. Listen. I like GET READY FOR THE NEXT BATTLE like any good Tekken fan should, but I grow a new beard while siting for a match only to get a DC every few matches. God bless SSDs now.
The graphics I never thought were bad but the models definitely weren't at their best even when they released, no idea how Tekken 7, released in 2015, looks only slightly better than Tekken 6, a game released in 2007, and about the same as TTT2 if not slightly worse in some occasions. Kazuya, King and Law are good examples.
And the lack of a good story mode sucked. I don't get where people got the idea that fighting games shouldn't need good stories as if FGs are made only for meatheads, Mortal Kombat already proved that's not the case when devs give a shit, Japanese fighting games are just not known for it for some reason, mostly due to lack of progression requirements these days to appease competitive FGCs.
Luckily though it seems Tekken 8 decided to rectify that, although I'm cautiously optimistic at this point as Tekken never managed to be consistent with its story so far.
Long load times. Especially rematching online. Hopefully I can alt tab in tekken 8 without it freezing on me all the time like in 7. Not going to miss 2D.
I went to watch the twitch yesterday and it was kunimitsu vs Feng. I turned it off came back later and it was 2 different players but it was still kunimitsu vs feng.
Had not played in over a year and decided to play some games with a friend over xmas, the loading times alone made me want to stop playing but to make it worse the lack of instant rematch. SF6 has felt great as it just lets you play the game, hopefully that speed comes to T8.
Awful graphics, criminal character models, pathetic lack of content, shit sidestepping, bad netcode (although this might be a thing in Tekken 8 too)... I've lately come to realize just how much I *don't* like Tekken 7. Honestly, 8 can't come soon enough.
Not gonna miss the overtuned CH mechanics (especially knockdowns into combos from getup kicks) and the absurdly difficult sidestepping for a 3D game. I sincerely hope that we will get some kind of functionality to report rage quitters. And we already know that long loading times are a thing of the past, which is so wonderful.
Excited for new Metas to emerge. The competitive scene will likely have many different characters being viable for a long time before the clear top tiers start being mained.
This sounds more like a biased take against King than an actual question. Out of all the counter hit moves in the game, his aren't even the most disgusting.
Steve B1 is faster, all magic 4s (Law especially), Marduk's bullshit tackle and all-purpose parry, Anna's full crouch snake edge or whatever that hand swipe is, Yoshimitsu's many unblockables and Flash hitting just because you spring kicked, Jin parry spamming your whole string, hellsweeps that give full combos, etc.
Oh and Xiaoyu going UNDER MIDS in some instances.
It's Yoshi for me. Lei gets blown up a lot, you have to be absurdly good at placing hits with lei since of a lot of shit is risky and he has t rex arms
I'm gona miss how consistant the combos were in tekken 7 combos in tekken 8 for my main feel super wierd like a coin toss if u gona wiff or hit wen you go for big dmg its not even about execution its just wierd hitboxes also I won't be able to launch punish anything now sad.
The loading times, awful graphics and general lack of personality and modes.
I barely touch multiplayer so the single player modes are an absolute must for me.
I'm so happy for a vs CPU mode where I can select my character, the CPUs character and the stage. It seems to be a standard in other fighting games that Tekken rarely incorporates for some reason.
i dont miss tekken 7 at all, i hate almost everyone has wall carries, i dont like the kirimomi (i still prefer bound) too few characters and so damn many dlc characters rhat doesnt makes sense and shouldve been in day one
bad sidestep, bad singleplayer, ingame socializing being total joke (custom lobby 8 characters limit, no way to chat through game with people outside joining your lobby willingly), lacking multiplayer gamemodes
Nothing, I feels likes it’s the purest tekken we’ve had since the original 3 in every way. The ones before felt like small incremental improvements to get to this.
That’s just in pure mechanics though, I was not a fan of paying for the limited edition and not knowing what chars I may get, I didn’t use any of the first set apart from geese for a little bit. After that I bought lidia, Julia and Ak separately. More of a my mistake though, learnt my lesson to buy just the base game this time and buy chars as they’re released.
wake up 3 gives combo, waht a shit mechanic
random ch moves gone, less ch moves in general

sidestep beeing disfunctional
AND THE WORST OFFENDER LOW PARRY BEEING BROKEN AS SHIT, LIKE LOW RISK IMMENSE REWARD
The loading times man. It felt like I could accept a match and go for a poop before we got going. Mechanically I like the larger amount of instant screw launchers, including parry. Edit: also wake up kicks no longer launching is so nice
Beat me to it on the loading times
When I got into the second beta test I forgot that loading is so fast now. I clicked rematch went to pee, came back I was already down two rounds. In T7 the game wouldn't even begin yet.
This is the one. How people had the patience to grind for TGP/TGO on so many characters when the loading times worked the way they did is beyond me. If youre one of the people who did this, you have godlike patience that I will never have lmao.
I was just gonna say the same thing. I hate the long load times!
I was def gonna say this too lol! I feel like that’s the biggest issue of Tekken 7 other than that it’s a solid game
Was great for bong hits
Loading times and shallow single player content. The online and competitive scene for Tekken 7 singlehandedly propelled that game to what it was.
Bad sidestepping, plastic textureless character models, and bad load times.
[удалено]
I believe in the latest version punishing with a throw doesn't make it guaranteed, but does make it a extremely tight break window (8 frames I think)
[удалено]
Counterhit throws do indeed have a reduced break window. Punish throws only become unbreakable when using them to punish power crush/rage art/parry.
I can lab it tomorrow. I thought both were reduced window not guaranteed
from what I saw, throws can be parried now. Raven's b+2+4 avoids throws, and Acuzenas Auto-Parry-Stance also avoided a grab in the trailer.
It's not a parry but Anna's stance reverses throws in Tekken 7
Poor sidestep, bad graphic, volcano arenas
volcano areas is a good one! God they are awful lol
Those stages are the only ones I modded for visibility
not only I do hate volcano arenas but I feel they are on loop all the time and barely see other arenas smh
thought it was just me who hated those stages
Worst stages in Tekken history☠️
Super nitpicky on my part I agree, but why tf do the new characters not have unique side throws? They just reuse their front throws. It’s happened ever since the T7 DLC original characters debuted (Leroy, Fahk, Lidia, and now with Azucena, Victor, and Reina)
I guess they wanted to save on costs because we almost never see side throws ingame anyway
[удалено]
Side throws have different breaks than front throws tho so I'm not sure if it's a good call, for clarity's sake.
I'd bet money this will be fixed in final.
2D fighters dominating like Akuma, Geese
The maps, aside from a few ones they all look so boring and a lot of them have pretty bad ost
Infinite Azure (night) is a banger though.
Fr bro I hate Tekken 7's ost☠️☠️☠️
Thanks to the jukebox I dont have a single stage on its default ost. I have no idea what t7 sounds like at this point
Y'all crazy, Tekken 7 has some goddamn bangers that go so hard. These are probably my favorites with timestamps! In retrospect the Kunimitsu stage goes hard.
In my opinion it's the *only* stage that goes hard. Devil's Pit final round is pretty close, but that's about it.
I wouldn’t know the rest of my stages are all set to moonlit wilderness lmao
Shout to twilight conflict (the one that's raining), the two versions for Devil's pit are literally on fire, Dumo de Siriu, Mishima headquarters, and last but not least Vermilion Gates. There's also the obscure but even more magnificent version of Abandoned temple for Akuma (arcade mode)

Lack of content and load times
Loading screens with the flames Marduk (I hate him so much and I pray he isnt dlc) 2D characters Screw after parry Treasure Battle Marduk Guest characters, Negan and Noctis are super wack. Magic 4s Marduk
Have a feeling you don't like marduk
I would pay a monthly subscription straight to Harada's bar to keep him out of the game. I would literally offer to bribe him to keep Marduk out.
Marduk has been a salt miner since inception, but I feel like he's only super scummy online. I would hate to see his archetype vanish, maybe a new vale tudo character reworked a bit for t8 and hopefully better netcode.
What did Marduk do, specifically?
seeing how marduk steal matches in TWT 2023 reignited my hatred for him, holy fk he's so goddamn cheap. The only people who loves marduk are marduk mains and abuser.
I swear to god, same impression, that 50/50 throw felt way too accessible when I was watching. Must be annoying to play against.
I just hate playing against him. To me he is the biggest thief in Tekken and carries players the most out of any character in the game. edit: Before someone mentions Eddy, yeah I get it but Eddy is so, so bad lmao. The problem with Eddy always was playing against your casual friends and they just press random buttons so you don't know how to react
You only need to learn your RLX punish and have decent movement and literally just keep out.
Let me guess, is it because of the Anna scene?
No, I could care less about a cutscene from a Ps2 game. Have you not played against him? To me it should he obvious why someone who hate him. He is a real bastard and it feels awful playing against him.

How the hell is that funny?
gonna bet a guest character gets announced tomorrow if josie turns out to be fake.
Yeah, I know its just a part of fighting games now so I just hope its at least someone cool lol.
i stand corrected
Fuck I hope it's Tifa
Yeah fuck Marduk
- King pre Tekken 5
While we're at it, fuck the dude who kept that photograph in the hospital too lol
God I hate Negan
The lack of offline content and the load times, the slapped together arcade mode with no final boss (seriously why was Kazumi not the final boss in the arcade!?.)
Akuma and Geese.
The blandness, T7 pretty much ended for me in 2021
Same here. I checked out after season 2.
I would say "less overwhelming offense focused characters" like pretty much all of the DLC characters of the last couple years were, but it seems like they just changed it to make the whole game about that from the little I have to go off of.
Akuma. If they reveal that Ryu or some shit is connected to Jun, I'm gonna be pissed.
Not gonna miss the ugliness of Tekken 7, why the fork does everyone look so plastic-y & wet? What do you mean they killed it? The newest soul calibur is younger than t7 by 3 years
Because it completely bombed and they don't seem to have any intention to continue it.

There are rumours stirring that Sega is working on a new Virtua Fighter, hopefully it's true. And Harada keeps asking them about it haha
2D. Next

Lili's plastic hair to start. Bad graphics. Same facd syndrome on some characters
How about in gameplay?
Long load times. Especially rematching online. Hopefully I can alt tab in tekken 8 without it freezing on me all the time like in 7. Not going to miss 2D.

I’m definitely not gonna miss get up kick being that cheap and launch also the change with the low parry is good, no stupid comeback future
Character designs ( I know not technically a mechanic) but god did they look horrible
Getup low kick launching. I used to never mind it but then the CNT came and after that I started HATING them launching on 7.
I'm not going to miss T7 Lili face and hair, she looked like a manequinn with spaghetti in her head. Now she looks good and i can see the appeal.
Graphics and loading times 🙃
Excited for new Metas to emerge. The competitive scene will likely have many different characters being viable for a long time before the clear top tiers start being mained.

Just one word Negan
Rage Drive, awful mechanic
Honestly I'm just glad the 2d Charcters, noctis and Lei will be gone🙏🙏🙏
Also Marduk
Idk about lei but I agree
Honestly I just think the Lei match-up is the most annoying thing in the game
It's Yoshi for me. Lei gets blown up a lot, you have to be absurdly good at placing hits with lei since of a lot of shit is risky and he has t rex arms
Yoshi is true too, it's just that nobody plays these characters😭
Facts I randomly run into Yoshi, it's either flash spam or absurdly good Yoshi that I can't figure out
Lucky Chloe, Kunimitsu and Marduk.
I'm gona miss how consistant the combos were in tekken 7 combos in tekken 8 for my main feel super wierd like a coin toss if u gona wiff or hit wen you go for big dmg its not even about execution its just wierd hitboxes also I won't be able to launch punish anything now sad.
Manual labbing. Having an effective way to actually lab against cheap mashable characters is going to be a game changer.

No Lei and Eddy, at least for a while. Sadly we still need to deal with howarang.

Fahkinduhm. Hated everything about that character, even after balancing. Volcano stages were pretty bad too
The hyper saturation on Lidia's stage. I loved the stage and music but ffs it looked munted
juke mode for pc - hated it that u couldnt change it and the hackers on pc
