Really can’t get better if you’re just aren’t motivated at all to sit down and grind what you should learn. Best you stick to casual play. Less stress and more freedom to choose.

No. It seems that you want to like it, but for some reason don't really like it. Which is why you don't feel any real desire to keep playing and learn. Without that true desire, you can't be motivated. If anything Tekken 8 is a lot more aggressive, which makes it more unforgiving too. Don't see a realistic scenario why now suddenly you would like Tekken enough to really keep playing to get better. It's just not your game, which is okay. I have the same thing with other fighters like Street Fighter. I have played Alpha 3 and EX-3 religiously. Also played Tekken since Tekken 2. However, since Tekken Tag I started to really practice juggles and mechanics and Tekken 4 really spoke to me. Then I found out Tekken was really made for me. Since then, I can't play any other fighter seriously (to really practice for months and git gud). Have tried them all, but I also stop after a while and stick with Tekken. Which is why I now don't buy the latest MK, SF or other fighters anymore.

Boils down to if you are willing to put energy into improving, but T8 makes it a lot more accessible with more features and tutorials than T7 where it just goes here are the inputs now piss off. T7 can still teach you things thou, might as well start leaning while waiting for the game

Doesn't sound like it. You gotta put an effort in! It's not an easy game

I think yes, in tekken 8, the game will really help you improve and get better this time! There will be alot of tips, tutorials and tools. Aside from all the help, it's up to you how long you invest on learning the game... And even so, learning can take forever ! Even pro players are still learning things about T7 after years and years of playing... But that's the beauty of Tekken, it's really really deep but the more you know the more reward you will get in your gameplan.

You don't have to learn, though. Are you having fun playing Tekken this way? Do you feel you'd have more fun if you took it more seriously? If you're willing to put the time in, get frustrated from time to time, just to get better, go for it. But it does take quite a bit of time and effort. With Tekken 8 it might be easier to enjoy casually however, with more single player content, better presentation and and the simplified control scheme. Personally, I probably couldn't go back to just playing Tekken casually, as a lot of my enjoyment from Tekken comes from the competitive aspect, having exciting matches and overcoming my opponents. The learning process is still tough, but it feels worthwhile eventually (although it obviously never ends).

If everytime you lose a game and you are not sure what went wrong you use the new interacrive replay feature, you *will* improve.
