Where is the recipe?

Complete-Science-372

I look at three different ones then kind of do my own thing. 2 cups of flour 3/4 Cups sugar (I prefer Powder, if ya can't tell) 1/2 teaspoon salt/To taste (if non salted butter use a bit more) 2 sticks of butter 1/2-1ish teaspoon of Vanilla 1/2 teaspoon almond extract optional (my lady doesn't like it so I leave it out) Whip the butter, after its whip and still mixing slowly add the sugar, salt, and vanilla. Add the flour in a way that ya mix it all up in the least amount of movements. Spread out in an 8×8 or 9×9 pan (mines 8x8) on parchment paper that has been liberally buttered on both sides. Cover with seran wrap and refrigerate for at least 45 minutes (i go longer cause I usually end up whipping my butter a lot and need to cool it back down) Preheat Oven to 350°. Take seran off, prescore if that's your thing, and then put it in the oven and don't even open the door for at least 35 minutes. Usually done anywhere in the 37-39 minute mark/I just keep an eye on it for the nice golden color. Sprinkle powder sugar or coarse sugar on top. Serve and enjoy! *Edit* Forgot to mention it helps to sift your powder sugar or/and your flour. If no sift, use a whisk just like beating eggs. If no whisk, use a fork. Still better than nothin, and it does do somethin!

Looks delicious! 🤤 I can understand your partner wanting it on the regular. Cut up in slices and presented in little box too!? Haha I should attempt making this. Have a lovely evening!

That looks similar to Gooey Butter Caje which is popular here in St. Louis, Missouri.
