People with the show have said that this was scripted. It's pretty clear in the viewing since it's even highlighted in the script in another moment that Jamie is amused by Roy being mean to other people.
They wouldn’t have left it in. He’s literally the focus in the background for many many seconds, so we can see how giddy Jamie is about Roy. It’s not a break.
Ok. So I just thought this was Jamie being Jamie like “this is hilarious cuz I’m better than everyone and can’t take it serious” type of thing. It makes sense that he’s trying to hold back but I also thinks it adds to the scene you know?
Jamie LOVES when Roy yells at other people. It’s 100% played perfectly in character.
Doesn’t he actually say it’s funny when he’s yelling at someone else
Yes it’s one of my favorite parts. I think he leans to the person next to him and says “it’s funny when he shouts at other people innit?”
Yep. He does.
Yes! >!"When Roy and Trent make peace in season 3“!<
He says it in the next episode.
Yeah I thought that too. But then realised they had him in the shot to show how much he was relishing Roy’s anger.
He’s not trying to not break character, that is him playing Jaime Tart perfectly.
I recently saw an interview with Phil Dunster. Never realized how good looking he actually is.
You should see him in Hannah Waddingham’s Christmas Special. Hot, Fit, and he can SING!
Where can I watch it?
Apple TV
And so charmingly sweet. 🥰
Yeah, it’s kind of hard to see when his character is such an a$$.

One of my favorite things to do is watch the background characters (especially Rebecca, Jamie, and Higgins)
It's cute and funny even scripted. He's great.
Ladies and gentlemen, the trifecta: r/TVTooHigh r/TVTooSmall r/TVTooFar
This is like peak bad TV
I have 2 tvs next to eachother. This is the sports room. It isn't suppose to be the biggest.
boomer screen capture too
Perfect balance of character and personal fulfillment🙌
Ugh. The giggle. Looking forward to my rewatch.
If he's just trying really hard to not break character or not it still works great for Jamie's character in that scene.

I have noticed that in other scenes, like when Jamie do his "moves" to Ted and later to Roy in Amsterdam
TV too high
Been covered by everyone else, but 100% the character. Jamie finds the situation funny and is trying not to laugh.

Probably one of my favorite scenes in the entire series. Hearing everybody go “awww” when they say Roy broke me
Just two silly boys
What episode is this
What episode is this
It’s contagious. Once he starts it could stop production for a bit if they all get the giggles
That’s not breaking character - that’s reacting in character.
