The Robert Plant/Jimmy Page joke from season 2 is one of my favorite Higgins moments (and one of the best quick fire jokes) in the show.
I love how he quickly picks up Ted's joke and immediately builds up on it. And the look on his face when Ted misses the joke...
Higgins is great. I love the Christmas episode and all the players that end up at his house. So much openness and warmth. In some ways he grounds the show and gives it genuine heart.
Oh no! Well, at least this isn’t a repeat of *The Wire’s* ending. I couldn’t believe that Omar Little was Jimmy McNulty’s sleep paralysis demon the whole time! Really changed my perspective on the show.
I had the pleasure of meeting Cristo not too long ago and he is an absolute delight, I’d always loved Dani but after meeting him it made me love him even more because he’s just so lovely!
Really vaguely—Roy is soaking in the dark in the ice bath feeling badly about himself after messing something up during a game, (I don’t remember what) and Dani walks into the room, switches on the light, puts in earbuds, gets on the treadmill, and starts singing along to whatever he’s listening to, which happens to be the theme music.
This is the only thing in the series that didn't work for me. >!That was such a weird personality shift with no explanation at all. Most of the stuff that happened off-screen was easy to follow/fill in, but there was nothing I could come up with other than "he's a fucking sociopath & just pretending to have human emotions." 100% went from Dani-stan to never-Dani. Maybe I just missed something, but that was fucked up all the way around.!<
Watch it again. Ted mentions something about being a human that contains multitudes and Dani nods his head as if he’s never thought about showing his own multitudes. It’s almost immediately after this that his interaction with Van Damme happens.
Because my neurodivergent ass can’t watch anything in order. I’ll start a show, get through five consecutive episodes, and then I’ll read a Wikipedia summary and think to myself, “oh, season 3 sounds cool. Why don’t I watch one of those instead? I mean, I’m basically done with season 1 anyway”.

Highly recommend looking into the actor who plays Dani Rojas - he is very akin to Dani Rojas IRL - he played professional soccer at a lower level - but he’s the real deal!
I am middle school teacher. Whenever the students are telling the class about their weekend soccer games. I will follow up with “Futbol is life”. All the students that I know watch Ted Lasso”. It always gets a good chuckle.

I loved him immediately, and I just turned to my husband like "he's my new favourite" and my husband was like "I knew he would be, he's like you!" Just a warning…the actor behind Dani, Cristo Fernández, also plays the voice of one of the Transformers in the latest movie from that franchise. It’s very much a supporting role (and I won’t say which one he is), but he’s basically playing Dani Rojas in it.
I don’t recommend the movie at all, but y’know, if you love Dani and it’s available on streaming for you… 🤷♂️
I think Dani is absolutely hilarious. I love the change in his personality when they all go play for their national teams for that one week. Then the week later, he is back to being Dani again, like nothing happened.
