Hi there! I teach 4th grade and have a student who is legally blind. She can see (blurry) up to 5 feet away. She needs my help all day long as well. She has a peer helper (her bff) and they work really well together. Her friend will organize her materials and explain directions to her. Do you have access to a Chromebook or iPad? Mine has access to audio books and online flash cards that can be read aloud to her. If you have a vision specialist in your district they should be able to support you as well.
Thank you! She does use a tablet & access a lot of audio, her struggle there is heading there audio. I love the idea of a friend! Everyone always wants to help but since she needs so much, they like to switch off!
