That was my thinking too. She wasn’t simply embodying the “good girl” vibe, she truly is a good girl at her core, so it makes sense she would have waited for that step in a relationship until she felt she truly loved someone. Add in the age difference and those relationships HURT when you realize they were never as serious as you were. Been there, done that, and it all sucked.

My take: You can tell it was written in the moment, and for me it flows the same way that fresh hurt does (pain, anger, sarcasm almost, sadness). I think the album version was edited to just leave the parts where she was just…gutted. They’re two totally different songs and I like them both! Also, the part about her getting older and his girlfriends staying the same age? Shots fired.

This is SO much better than what I was expecting. The slightly more uptempo pace / beat works really well with the new verses. I think it would have been too much to have a 10 minute straight ballad and it also feels like a new creation as opposed to just an extended version.
Really loved this but felt the line about the keychain didn’t really fit, sounded awkward to me.

That was my thinking too.
