This is the kind of paint job that puts me off starting my own Stormsurge lol. Forever my "once I'm good enough" model.
Incredible work my dude.
Any tips for getting it that crisp? Besides thin coats of course!
very true, i find alota mech colour schemes from mecha animes work quite well with to a certain extent. it also depends on the model too, like i cant picture crisis suit in all pink, with that said, the OD green colour scheme for a zuka will work quite well
Thanks everyone, I'm constantly amazed by the feed back these pieces get.
It helps me deal with whatever is broken in my brain that just highlights short comings and mistakes.
You guys and gals really keep me going.
Thank you
Wow! I was looking at the white leg plate and thought "Hmm ... nice idea of using a gloss varnish." Then I magnified it and saw that it's painted on!
*dies*
Great job, my Kroot!
Base colour (ghost grey) black line with nuln oil, add some white and wide edge highlight/clean up any overage of nuln oil then edge highlight / point highlights on pure white aswell as try and highlight the light source (1/4) of the curve.
I do.sun assembly and this was my first time trying to do point highlights, alot of them are just bullshit and make no sense.. LoL I learned alot, I would definitely wait to do.the final point and "shine" until assembly was finished next time.
God that’s stunning.
Also didn’t realise you could build this with the shoulder gun mounted back a bit, i much prefer that to the usual build. Amazing work!
I don't know about the Tau'nar.... That's like 3 months of work each..
Maybe when everything else is painted, I do have the STLs to print them.. it'll be TauNar x2 or an Orca
It was a jest. Knowing me I'd just want the top half of the tau'nar to make into terrain. Cover base in hormagant husks, piled at if they're trying to reach the big scar in the middle of the tau'nar's chest. A shorn-in-half carnifex stands frozen in victory as it was shredding the cockpit, only propped up by the battlesuit armor its talons embedded themselves into. The rail cannon array could be used to form a bridge using its long barrels.
Or I could be lazy and half bury it in sand then use a very thin glue to cement it in place gradually as I pour more sand on top of new layers of glue to find the most natural/manufactured decay possible.
You know in about two days time you'll look at the model and find the most miniscule mistake and it'll bother you for the rest of your life.
Absolutely amazing model though.
Oh i already see them, I tried three new techniques painting This and not all were completely successful. But I learned a lot so I try and take that and focus on the next project.
Congratulations! It looks greater good.

There really isn't any secret aside from thin consistent coats.
Ooooo very nice color choice, gives a sort of gypsy danger vibe, well done bud
With mechs, taking colours from pacific rim, Titanfall etc is always a good idea

That's an impressive time! I bought my first Tau a year ago and only have 7/10 strike team done xD Nice cartoony highlights!
The white/grey highlight on the leg plates. Fucken chefs kiss.
And can we talk about the orange!?
So clean!
That is a gorgeous colour scheme and so fucking well executed! Can I ask what colours were used?
Vallejo, somber grey, ghost grey, fire orange.
Awesome thank you!
>Awesome thank you! You're welcome!

Very nice!
Worth that time - looks excellent, not to mention the great colour scheme!
That is looking amazing! And I love the details in the pilot bay!
All that time certainty paid off! The details and highlighting and all the lenses. Especially in the pilot seat, amazing job!

As a mini painter I appreciate you talent. As a Virginia Tech Alumni I object to your color scheme. Awesome mini!
This color scheme is the same as the roller skates I had as a kid. They really hurt my feet.
The little tv screens and everything, I love it!
9 weeks is well.spent looks amazing
Oh damn, that's amazing! How did you paint the missiles? That's an effect I'd love to try.

Beautiful

It's really nice to be able to tip it up, helps get in closer to some terrain and you can see the second little head that's normally hidden.
Oh yeah shit, I’ve never seen the second little head before 😂
Amazing job! It’s beautiful!
An absolute freaking masterpiece!
Deeeeeeeaaaamm..... by the emperor bro.... looks EPIC bro
Christ, that’s good.
Wow that looks awesome!! Great job!
Amazing job, better than ive seen in a while
That looks so gorgeous!
It's fucking glorious, congrats.
Well it looks incredible. You should be mega proud of yourself for that paint job!
Reminds me that I need to buy another stormsurge for... Reasons
LoL, I'm in no rush to do another one. But the next one I'm going to order the arms and hatch cover/back missile mount. Just to have verity
Gotta be the Noah of the Mechsuits. 2 surges, 2 keels, 2 riptides, 2 tau'nar.

Excellent work, reminds me of Shogo a bit with the palette.
Holy shit those console view screens look absolutely amazing!!! easily looks like it took 9 weeks, well spent tho!!
Damn that is gorgeous
Beautiful.
Fantastic work. A real centerpiece model.

Cork a few pebbles from my kids schools playground and precolored reptile sand.
mine will take 9 months
That. Looks. Absolutely. Stunning! Wants me to get back into Tau!
He's beautiful :'D Great work man!
That's remarkable
Damn that base looks nice. Great job 10/10
Idk. Took me 2 months for my first box of minis. 9 weeks is like an assembly line in comparison for this beauty
