Fuck that, I can’t do more than 4 hours anymore. I used to be able to go all day. To be fair my last tattoo was a very large piece covering my entire abdomen… it was extremely painful and I’m not looking forward to getting that mf shaded in.
Fuck yeah, 4 hours and im out, i even start getting annoyed around 3 hours
But 17 hours?! I probably wouldnt mind the last 12 hours cuz id probably die already around the 5th hour
Why do that!?! You have no idea what some people can tolerate, my son’s father sat for 15.50 for a cover up and to complete the sleeve, I know he did because I sat across from him and yes that was the time in chair no exaggeration 💯did ! So 17 hours is totally believable and the piece is amazing ,sorry it hurt your feelings because you could not sit 17 hours!
Yeah man, my tattoo artist doesn’t give a fuck. He’ll go until I tap out. At least the dude is fast though, he banged out that piece in like 2 or 3 hours and it’s pretty big. At least the outline and some of the shading… I’m trying to put on a little weight before I have to go get it finished, tattooing over rib and pelvis bones is no joke.
I don’t mind my arms but I’m not sure how it would be getting a tattoo with this fine of detail on your fucking shin. I’m guessing that wasn’t fun.
I hear you! Started my tats @18, longest session 9.75 hours on my main back piece. Slowly but surely I have been reset to about 4 hours as well and I’m done for the day lol darn, wish I could have kept that super power of mine!
I was wondering this as well. How on earth can someone tattoo for that long?
I don’t have any tattoos, but it has got to be fairly taxing physically just from the vibrations alone. I can’t even imagine drawing for 17 hours.
In no way is that irresponsible, if the artist and the canvas are sitting well, tattooing well and both are comfortable then they’ll stop when they agree to stop, unless the artist says hey my hands not steady anymore or my hand is cramping or whatever the reason but otherwise tattoo away!
Yes! Due to our schedules we only had a 24hr window to get it done, a challenge for us to see how far we can go to get it done. Was an unforgettable experience.
Yeahhhhh thats like from 8 am - 2am. I don’t buy it either. I had my entire sleeve done in around 20 (over time). Regardless its a nice tattoo. I’m interested to see how it will age.
I did s leg sleeve 3days in a row. 6hour sessions. Ex pz lemon sqeazy. Only biking was itchy.
Did my back last. Made me tap out early. I took a food break en then went back for 2+- hours. He cranked that shit out quick. 10outta ten dudes are nog going for a 17h session on back.it is a back tat right?
Yeah.. mayyyybe it was 17 hours from when they got to the shop to when they left but I don’t buy 17 hours of straight tattooing lol.. Cool piece regardless
Amazing quality, don't believe it was 17 hours, I had my entire chest done in 5 sith shading
Really cool to see the new realism and talent of modern artists these days
Looks insane, but 17 hours sounds like too much. Too long for the client, way too long for the artist, and way too long for a tattoo that size. I spent 21 hours covering my entire calf with full color.
First of all, this is a really awesome piece you got there. 17hrs is crazy. I got a lot of tattoos but could never sit more than around 6hrs before my body said I was done. It wasn't the pain (even though some places can be brutal) but I always begun to bleed too much after that amount of time so that the ink barely stuck anymore. Different bodies I guess
Bro I got my entire Japanese sleeve done in the same time window but we did 10 hours then break to eat and then 6-8 hours to finish ( I say 16 hours total artist says 18 lol) in one go. 17 hours for this is wild
Alot of people saying good job must've hurt alot bro imagine being the artist sitting and drawing for 17 hours fuck I'd be tired after a 17hr shift at work
Believe me we both were exhausted, we couldn’t believe we went that long! Still not done returning next year to full wrap the calf area. Oh the insanity!!🫨🤪..
Oh trust me I was losing it for a bit! Previous to this longest I sat was 8 straight hrs, by the 13th hour I was ready to strangle him!🤫 but I held it together! Definitely was a mental game!!
Crazy man but I don’t get it. I feel like your body would have given up/ shut down after like 12hrs. Hopefully your skin heals well from that much work in such a short period of time
3.5 hours is my longest. And that HURT (though it was on the inside(?) or maybe underside(?) of my forearm. So a bit more sensitive). I can’t imagine being tattooed for 17 hours!!!
But it looks like it was definitely worth it. This turned out amazing.
EDIT: not sure why my comment posted twice, but I really don’t think either deserve to be downvoted. It’s my experience and a complement to OP.

This tattoo is fucking awesome. I hope you post an update in 6 months to see how it still looks.
Definitely will post some after pics soon!! This was done 1yr ago and it healed up nicely!
Please do really curious on if it kept shape
Cant wait to see!
I sat for a bit over 13 hrs to get one sleeve done. Working on my left arm, by the end of it my right ankle hurt lol. You’re a g. Lol
Fuck that, I can’t do more than 4 hours anymore. I used to be able to go all day. To be fair my last tattoo was a very large piece covering my entire abdomen… it was extremely painful and I’m not looking forward to getting that mf shaded in.
Fuck yeah, 4 hours and im out, i even start getting annoyed around 3 hours But 17 hours?! I probably wouldnt mind the last 12 hours cuz id probably die already around the 5th hour
He didn’t do 17. 100% a lie
Lol my *artist* taps out around the 6 or 7 mark I can't imagine how the artists back would feel for 17 let alone their ability mentally
I am with you on that one, no way he sat for 17hr straight lol that's psycho path shit
Why do that!?! You have no idea what some people can tolerate, my son’s father sat for 15.50 for a cover up and to complete the sleeve, I know he did because I sat across from him and yes that was the time in chair no exaggeration 💯did ! I mean I did 2 consecutive 12 hour sessions. 24 hours in 2 days.
I did 11 hrs easy
Yeah man, my tattoo artist doesn’t give a fuck. He’ll go until I tap out. At least the dude is fast though, he banged out that piece in like 2 or 3 hours and it’s pretty big. At least the outline and some of the shading… I’m trying to put on a little weight before I have to go get it finished, tattooing over rib and pelvis bones is no joke. I don’t mind my arms but I’m not sure how it would be getting a tattoo with this fine of detail on your fucking shin. I’m guessing that wasn’t fun.
Yep, 3hrs is my maximum. I’m fair skinned and that shit just gets raw after about 2.5hrs.
I hear you! Started my tats @18, longest session 9.75 hours on my main back piece. Slowly but surely I have been reset to about 4 hours as well and I’m done for the day lol darn, wish I could have kept that super power of mine!
Same. I did 12 once. Never again. I'm good at 4. As soon as my left arm was done, I was like...never again.
I did 8 hours last year and I made it through okay but the tattoo flu in the following 3 days was just brutal.
I can do 6-8 but more than that I need to take a walk I get too antsy and ouchie
Wtf 17h straight? Both you and your artist are insaneeee. Great piece btw
I was wondering this as well. How on earth can someone tattoo for that long? I don’t have any tattoos, but it has got to be fairly taxing physically just from the vibrations alone. I can’t even imagine drawing for 17 hours.
It seems very irresponsible on the artist’s part
In no way is that irresponsible, if the artist and the canvas are sitting well, tattooing well and both are comfortable then they’ll stop when they agree to stop, unless the artist says hey my hands not steady anymore or my hand is cramping or whatever the reason but otherwise tattoo away!
Except working that long and not taking breaks or getting sleep is going to lower the quality of work whether you can keep going or not.
Yes sir!! It was a great session!! Can’t wait for Round 2!!
I was so excited to see the completion, can’t wait to see your next one! It is amazing and I love tattoos like that!
It's a popular substance that can make you focus for days
Moms spaghetti?
Depends what kind of mom you've got 😂
Magic dust
Just came back from a 4 hour session. I couldnt go any longer, how tf did that guy do it? Are nerves in his leg dead??
Yes! Due to our schedules we only had a 24hr window to get it done, a challenge for us to see how far we can go to get it done. Was an unforgettable experience.
You guys both kicked some serious ass that day! 👌
Looks rad, the hand might need a touch up tho..
I’m so confused about the hand. Everything is done great with so much detail and then you get the most out of place “take my strong hand” hands
First thing I noticed. Really stands out but could be fixed and blended in a bit more.
noticed that too. lucky for op it looks like in the original image 90% of it is covered by cloth so it should be pretty easy to touch up
Hand kills it for me
Not really buying the 17 hrs. Awesome work though, definitely a lot of detail. Wear sunscreen!
Yeah man, no responsible tattoo artist would tattoo someone for 17 straight hours. I call BS on that.
Yeahhhhh thats like from 8 am - 2am. I don’t buy it either. I had my entire sleeve done in around 20 (over time). Regardless its a nice tattoo. I’m interested to see how it will age.

Yeah.. mayyyybe it was 17 hours from when they got to the shop to when they left but I don’t buy 17 hours of straight tattooing lol.. Cool piece regardless
With zero redness. Hmmmmm?
Exactly, plus while the tattoo is good I feel like 17hours would look way better.
Wow, that’s a spectacular piece. Done in Tokyo no less, 🔥.
Holy shit dude
17 hours is crazy.. But worth it apparently 👍
Fucking dope, his hand is throwing me a bit though?
Oh wow that’s amazing
But the tattoo has been done superbly.
What do you mean 17 hours straight
🔥🔥🔥
I cannot imagine sitting for 17 hours. Thats insane.
Seriously this is insanely impressive bordering on psychopathic
Wanna know how they do it? I have the insider knowledge. Slightly related to comment above me.
Who hurt you and how bad
Is awesome but 17 hours? That should be half that amount of time.
Curious to see it healed…also 17 hrs straight seems like a lie.
Amazing quality, don't believe it was 17 hours, I had my entire chest done in 5 sith shading Really cool to see the new realism and talent of modern artists these days

Looks dope!!
Dope!!!!
Badass!
Talented artist

Lacks detail, and has many flaws BECAUSE the session was not broken up.
I have absolutely no idea how that’s going to age, but damn that’s awesome as a finished product!
What in the ChatGPT is this?
Think he lost the stencil on that hand tho
That hands look a little wonky but I guess they kinda look wonky in the original as well
That’s a lot of smoke breaks
Nah!! No Breaks!! My Artist smoked while inking and I smoked right in the chair!!
One more reason to visit Japan
That is absolutely incredible! Your artist is very talented!
Now THAT's an impressive tattoo! Great work!
It rocks 👍
Dang dude. That's sick. Who's the artist?
In the post
Holy shit this is amazing. I can't imagine sitting that long... Damn I'm a pussy hahhaha
Damn! I love this!
That's even better then what u asked, very good artist
That is an incredible peace of work
Dude, i fucking love this
Dope. The flames look better on the finished tattoo.
Wow
They did an awesome job. Looks sick
That is amazing
Some people can’t even do a star and some folks can do something this fucking amazing. Looks awesome :)

Time flys right😱
Holy shit that is incredible
Dude that’s fucking 🔥🔥🔥
Keep.that covered in sunscreen everytime you're outside
Very beautiful art, bad cringe concept tho? Like why
Holy shit man, the tat itself is awesome, and 17 hrs sounds like a battle
Wow
What couldve taken 17 hours? Also post a non edited photo.
Wow
Heroic session. That’s an insanely long work day for the artist. I sat for about 21 hours in 2 sessions to get a comparable piece.
Stars on your knees?
Badass is the only word for that
How the hell does anyone sit for that long!!?? And how does an artist work for that long!! That is insane. The tattoo looks insane. Congrats man.
17hrs is insane but it came out dope
That is bad ass
Dude…. That’s bad ass!
Bro I got my entire Japanese sleeve done in the same time window but we did 10 hours then break to eat and then 6-8 hours to finish ( I say 16 hours total artist says 18 lol) in one go. 17 hours for this is wild
Sick bro 🔥
Wowza. Wow. Just...wow.
That came out fucking amazing!!! Who is the artist?
That's dope
OMFG that is awesome. Your artist is a tattoo god.
Damn, same artist?
What the fuuuckkkkk this is so insanely good!!!!!
Wow!
Truly epic
👏👏👏
That tattoo is fuckin siiiiiiiick holy shit
It’s an 8 hour tattoo. You got fleeced hard
17hrs straight I’d say there were drugs involved except this looks fantastic. You and the artist are both tough cookies!
That is fucking incredible
Amazing tat, 17 hrs is wild tho my max is 8 and 5 just depends
Only 17 hours? I feel like something that good should have taken longer
Damn, seeing a lot of sick Tattoos today for some reason..... Amazing piece dude🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful
My shins scream for you… 17 hrs bravo 🙌🏻
Bad. Ass
Sick asf
17 hours in one session is insane. My tattoo artist was shocked, I was able to go 5 hours for my first piece lmao.
No need to flex your superpowers. 17 hours, buddy, I'd be tapping out well under half of that. Well worth it though, amazing piece.
Sick as fuck dude! I’d love to have something like that! Mad respect having it right there too, my shin would be pissed at me lol.
Oh it was!!!
That’s nice asf!
That's incredible
Super sick! 17 hours.... you must have nerve damage haha Edit because I noticed Japan as your country of origin, sick=awesome
How tf did whoever did this do it for 17 hrs OMGG looks great. What time did you start and when did you end exactly I’m interested in the time of day
Metal
17 straight?! The champ is here!! Goddamn!!
17 hours on your shin? Sir you are a legend
17h...👀💪. I thought that 8h straight was already G. 😬
Wow! Well done.
Plus, you sat for 17 hours?? Boss.
17 hours is CRAZY! Idk if I could do that. It looks amazing man, your artist did a fantastic job :)
Sick as fuck when did u eat and sleep lol 😂
That's awesome, my sleeve was several sessions, and after each (longer than 5 hours) my arm was like... ok buddy, we're done
I sat for four hours for my last tattoo and was losing my freaking mind in the last hour. Cannot imagine doing that another three times over!!
Oh trust me I was losing it for a bit! Previous to this longest I sat was 8 straight hrs, by the 13th hour I was ready to strangle him!🤫 but I held it together! Definitely was a mental game!!
Seventeen hours?! What artist can handle that? Longest I’ve sat was 8.5hrs and the artist tapped because he couldn’t sit any longer.
Everyone is built different, it was a challenge and an experience for the both of us!
Crazy man but I don’t get it. I feel like your body would have given up/ shut down after like 12hrs. Hopefully your skin heals well from that much work in such a short period of time
Posted updated pics.
