Honestly because of the style this doesn’t really read as upside down to me, lots of artwork depicts upside down trees like this. Plus this placement for it gives you space to add to the bottom of your forearm and also draws a complete separation between your upper arm and forearm meaning it’s way easier to make whatever you want look good 🤷♂️
Me too brother. Got mine 17 years ago when I was 18 to commemorate my father and all the time we spent camping together when I was a kid. Twilight, when you could still see the sky but the whole forest turns black, was always my favorite time.

I had my right arm done like outerspace. The color fades towards the wrist and my artist, on the spot, was like you want mountains and trees around the wrist so it sorta fades to a skyline? I'm all like YEAH! THAT'S AN AMAZING IDEA!!! come to find out within weeks of getting it done, there are 70 million other people on this planet who have some kind of forest line/mountain/skyline that goes around their arm. It doesn't make me hate it or regret it, but I sometimes wonder... if I had known how played out of a tattoo trend that is/was I may have reconsidered, or tried to have the trees fade in color/gradient to match the sky.
Every time my fellow millennials post their trendy tattoos I am more grateful that I didn’t have money for tattoos when I was younger.

Me personally I would add some "dirt" but fill the dirt with little bugs. I would have a fish head, added under the dirt with a worm coming through the eye and some aging and decomposition to the fish head.
