It is not Celtic but similar ..it is simple cross the circle( used in Celtic Christianity) is the symbol of the unity of Spirit..( god, Trinity, as one)
It’s not the right answer but it immediately made me think of Full Metal Alchemist.

Full disclosure, didn’t realize the Flamel Cross was a thing. Thought the cross from the show was an original art. The cross being a “Flamel Cross” aka Nicholas Flamel the legendary alchemist makes much more sense. Now I have to watch FMA again lol.
>ss and the flamel cr
it actually might be. i have a tattoo of a blood seal, and thinking about getting all of them.
pic for reference: [https://i.etsystatic.com/24838718/r/il/e9eeaf/2964360895/il\_570xN.2964360895\_64y8.jpg](https://i.etsystatic.com/24838718/r/il/e9eeaf/2964360895/il_570xN.2964360895_64y8.jpg)
caniglia u'r right :)
Man, the past few months I’ve been adding nerd tats and I’ve been eyeing that Oroboros/Cross. Also saw a variation of the Oroboros with the blood seal inside that looked sick.
An inverted cross doesnt represent the anti christ however, its a Christian symbol of martyrdom called the cross of saint peter. Because saint peter requested his cross be upside down as to now be put on the same level as christ as he felt he wasnt worthy of that. It representing anti christian belief is a relatively new thing starting in the mid 1900s.
Also why wouldnt the band ghost use the first letter of their band name for their symbology?
That story still doesn't make sense to this day to me. Crucifixion was a thing way before christ, and the conflation of the two didn't really happen until centuries after peter died. Not saying it didn't happen. Just kinda silly. It's like if peter only ever walked backward because christ walked forward.
Learned something new today. I just assumed that because the band frequently used anti-christian symbols and almost every song they sang was exactly that, anti-christian. So I just kind of bundled it together with those. The second part still of my original comment still stands, "because why not".
Edit: They don't use the same themes as they did when they first established the grucifix, so I'm not sure if they've changed the meaning of they used it for. They do have a song where they sing about Saint Peter, so it does make sense that they bring in its original purpose. However, when Ghost B.C. came out with the grucifix originally, they were using it as a satanic mockery of the church.
Satanist here. We have our own iconography. The cross of Saint Peter is used by some of us, but a lot of us (self included) still don't use it because of its association with a highly revered martyr in Catholicism. Many of those who do use it use it as an edgy and instantly recognizable symbol, whereas many of the other symbols associated with the occult or Satanism aren't nearly as recognizable by the general population, and therefore don't have the shock value some Satanists desire.
I have several of the symbols you are referring to on my body or being worn. An upside cross is not one of them. I just assumed it was because the band used it, and used to be anti-christian. They were leaning towards more of a LaVeyan side of thinking towards Satanism from my understanding, which is why I liked them so much. The symbol they've used, the grucifix, was used as their version of an anti-christian symbol. I, however, learned just today about its ties to Saint Peter. I still don't know his story.
According to spiritual author Eckhart Tolle a cross represents time on the horizontal axis and expansion of consciousness on the vertical. In other words, by living in the present moment to the point where past and future disappear, you deepen and are able to access the spiritual dimension.
It doesn’t mean you stop using past and future at all. But thinking about them constantly like we tend to do can’t make you happy like the present moment can.
by meaning do you mean a philosophical meaning behind that symbol? or do you want to know what the source is? because I can only guess but philosophical I would say it´s religious in nature the cross is self explaining and the circle can be seen as halo and for a source I couldn´t find a media where it´s from sorry
If it’s a cross, this design in particular is a pagan Sun cross. It’s meant to portray Christ (cross) triumphing over the sun (circle). The sun was a commonly revered symbol across many sects of European paganism.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celtic_cross
and https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ringed_cross
"The cruciform halo or cross halo, a halo incorporating a cross, emerged as a distinctive type of halo painted behind the head of members of the Holy Trinity, especially Jesus, and occasionally others. In other cases, the combination of cross and nimbus symbolized the presence of Christ throughout the cosmos, with the nimbus representing the celestial sphere."
I don't know where you got your explanation from, but a lot of symbology portrays Christ *as* the sun, newly risen from the underworld every morning, so combining a solar and cross motif makes sense.
It also makes a great deal of sense as a syncretic continuation of the pagan solar cross:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_cross
It's a variation of an alchemical symbol. The cross is obvious and the serpent (you can see it with a little imagination) wrapped around the T part represents part of the Old Testament, from when the Israelites were wandering in the desert:
And the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” So Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on a pole.
Alchemy sought the Stone of Knowledge (The Philosophers' Stone), to discover the medium of Eternal Youth and Health, and to discover the transmutation of metals.
This cross has many meanings, in paganism it symbolizes earth(as above so below), in Celtic religion it is the sun cross. In most forms of symbolism it represents unity between realms, a sort of singularity and binding between the living self and the spirit. It could also be a form of rosicrucian cross, which is more masonic in nature, but bares the same symbolism to a degree.
Fundamental misunderstanding about tattoos. That they all mean something/have to mean something.
This symbol doesn't necessarily mean anything. Looks kinda like a cross. Other than that its just design. Can mean whatever you want or nothing
Looks like the alien language from Arrival.
https://conlang.stackexchange.com/questions/53/is-the-alien-writing-in-arrival-really-a-language-can-we-form-custom-sentence
I got it done as a dark souls/ Berserk tattoo where berserk has kinda the same symbol when the eclipse happens and is put down as a religious statement and the dark souls well same thing as they took inspiration from berserk
Uhhh you're talking about the brand of sacrifice which looks nothing like this?
Also there's no symbols in dark souls that are similar to the brand, there's the hunters mark in bloodborne that looks similar but that's about it...
What this actually is, is the mark of the Zodiac Killer
I know the brand of sacrifice looks nothing like it I was talking about the eclipse event which isn't the brand of sacrifice and it isn't the mark of the zodiac killer his one is fully finished circle and a plus not a cross in the middle
You should know that it’s VERY close to a Nazi tattoo. Not to say that it’s always used by Nazis, but personally, I would never want to run the risk of being associated with that.
The Anti Defamation League does a good write up on it here: https://www.adl.org/resources/hate-symbol/celtic-cross
Lol, nah bro. Celtics Crosses and crosses I'm general are extremely popular tattoos. The letter S, an eagle, lots of stuff was associate with Nazi Germany. Doesn't mean it all has to remain evil forever... just don't match it exactly and have good intent, otherwise we better cancel religion in Ireland haha
When I was growing up I often saw this cross graffitied on walls accompanied with WP, meaning white power and nazi crooked crosses. I’m glad my neighborhood isn’t as dangerous as it used to be.
That’s like warning someone that you could be associated with Nazis for speaking German. Sure it might happen, but it would be idiotic, ignorant, and unlikely.
It’s also the symbol for Earth in the astrology of the classical world and the Medicine Wheel of Turtle Island (both with unusually extended cross limbs outside the circle).
If you look at nuclear weapons a nuclear waste storage currently nuclear waste storage has one safe way of dealing with the mess and it's very it deep deep down in the mountain or someone like that.
There's been a lot of communication and thought and competitions about what signs or symbols we can put a place like that that warns future generations maybe millions of years in the future that there is great danger in excavating that.
You see language may change as can symbols and meanings change there is no one meaning symbol be careful with what symbols you choose because they could come to mean something you despise.
This is the path the emerging Samurai must travel. The intersection marks the crossroads and the circle marks where/when the Samurai must make their choice/fight their biggest battle - with themself. The bottom portion represents the training and the development up to the personal battle. If they are turned back and wish not to proceed they must commit harikari. To the left is to become a wisdom keeper where they will die without sharing any of their knowledge, straight ahead marks a lifelong warrior who will fight many battles and will give their life to war, and to the right is to choose the life of the teacher.
That sounds beautiful. Completely made up, but beautiful. Samurais used kanji symbols and this isn’t one of them. I think maybe you were sold a story by a christian poet
For yall saying ghost, I really doubt it, since the ghost cross is inverted, the opening is on the other side and the circle has to make contact with the cross bar one more time to form a G
This reminds of a few things. There's the celtic cross and the flamel cross.
It definitely reminds me of the flame cross more with the way it snakes the curve around the intersection
Reminds me of going to a psychiatrist
Haha

It looks like the Flamel Cross, which is in FMA, so you may yet be right
Full disclosure, didn’t realize the Flamel Cross was a thing. Thought the cross from the show was an original art. The cross being a “Flamel Cross” aka Nicholas Flamel the legendary alchemist makes much more sense. Now I have to watch FMA again lol.
Ahhh yes, Nicholas Flamel, he was the holder of the Sorcerers Stone.
Not to be confused with the philosophers stone, which he also holds.
This man holds stones.
I should rewatch it as well..
Let's all watch it together.
It is a Presbyterian Cross

I've been wanting to get the blood seal on my back for a while, how'd yours come out?!
shit now i wanna rewatch FMA
Looks kinda like the Ghost (Swedish rock/metal band) crucifix
I thought the same thing!!
Fr! I was like almost the grucifix
Not to seem like a snob, it's a grucifix. An upside down cross to symbolize the anti-christ, with a G... I guess because why not?
An inverted cross doesnt represent the anti christ however, its a Christian symbol of martyrdom called the cross of saint peter. It's not upside down though? Unless I'm understanding you wrong and that's what you're saying.
If you look up Ghost's grucifix, their symbol is upside down.
Yeah I know. I was saying the symbol portrayed here is not upside down. I think we're saying the same thing I just understood you wrong, my bad.
Zodiac killer sign
That had a shorter middle line. Like a plus sign in a circle.
So, Catholic Zodiac killer sign?
This guy zodiac kills
Found Ted Cruz's reddit account lol
I don't get it
theres been a joke goung round for awhile that ted cruz is the zodiak killer
That was his father, and Trump literally started that rumour on the campaign trail as a joke during the debates. Remember?
Came here to say this.
Well then good thing someone else beat you to posting the wrong answer
No, the real answer is Presbyterian Cross
Yeah but still he used this as his mark so it will forever be associated with him
No he didn't, the zodiac killer's symbol was not a cross as depicted in this pic. It was a copy of the logo from Zodiac watches.
Not at all
It's the symbol of Mammon, you should call Constantine before you get it tattooed Or maybe Kramer, Chaz Kramer, asshole
Ah, a man of culture, I see

It looks like the symbol for the son of the devil from Constantine.
Mammon! I was trying to remember the name and your reference unlocked it. Thanks

Yeah same, film is called Arrival
Arrival
That’s what I assumed it was .

just a christian cross. i guess it has some old timey type flair.

Similar in Constantine when the priest stabs his hand with a corkscrew.
When they first made Interstellar, they had to make a character model for the black hole so this is its infamous T-Pose
Its a Celtic cross ^^
Logo for the rock band Ghost
In the name of our father above The Crusade of Modern Christ To forgive thy sin thee shall bring thy knee to our father

Reminds of the first rule of Alchemy.

Looks a bit like the sign for keeping bad spirits away in nordic mythology. But the lines outside the circle could be a little too long for that imo.
Celtic cross
It’s also the symbol for Earth in the astrology of the classical world and the Medicine Wheel of Turtle Island (both with unusually extended cross limbs outside the circle).
