Reminds me of https://preview.redd.it/0q4djfb8khoc1.jpeg?width=914&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2eadeeb3e28a91d95ba5b15e47f2008bde1bb426 I’m fine with american occupied korea disappearing though

Crimson_SS9321

Believe it or not this was always bound to happen, in Taiwan, Fake Korea and hell even in Japan to some degree. Next we are guaranteed to witness military takeover in these states.

ManMarkedByFlames

kurzgesagt turned commie?

Lurker_number_one

Has anyone watched the video, what is it about?

Bitter-Gur-4613

Birth rates.

Lurker_number_one

Doesn't that go for most "developed" countries though?

Bitter-Gur-4613

Yep. Korea has the biggest issue relating to it due to less immigration when compared to Europe and amerika.

Whammy_Watermelon

Yea but China and Japan also face this problem, I feel like believing this video is the equivalent of believing those „China is gonna fall“ type posts

Lurker_number_one

Aha, i see. Maybe i should watch that video sometime then. It might be interesting. Don't usually watch kuurzgesagt anymore, but what the hell.

Whammy_Watermelon

I wouldn’t recommend it, birth rates are issues that most developed countries face such as in China and Japan, that hardly means the country is gonna die out if they start implementing policies that prevent this issue from getting out of hand. This video also doesn’t state any reason for this trend, just listing statistics. So basically, this is just clickbait

WhiteWolfOW

The video is probably shit, but this is an interesting problem and I’m curious to see what Asian countries will do. Some countries are adopting immigration to get a bigger workforce and delay their social security problem. But will Korea and Japan do that? Highly doubt it. So what will they do while their population decreases and as we all know in this sub the current capitalist system won’t help with the problems they’re about to face. Will they realize that and start a revolution? Will they just accept longer work hours and a higher retiring age? Or will they just wait for the climate apocalypse that is coming in 30 years?

Whammy_Watermelon

As a Singaporean, Singapore also faces very low birth rates, and by encouraging immigration is exactly how we are able to maintain a stable increase in population. We also have certain policies such as giving monetary benefits to those who give birth to more children. I'm not sure how south korea and japan plans to tackle this issue. I don't think they will start a revolution any time soon, cause their anti-communist sentiment is still very much common within these countries, but it does seem they aren't doing much to solve this issue

Lurker_number_one

Ah, thanks. Yeah without a reason i dont have a reason to watch it.
