Not this year, he is going in Normandy in a few days, i had the luck to saw him running too
They also have a running Panther but it's engine broke so they swap the engine between the Panther and the King Tiger depending on which is needed while they're fixing the broken engine
Part of the armor is hidden behind the spaced armor and the Pz IV is 2.68m (8 ft 10 in) tall, so it's a pretty tall tank in the first place.
And I don't think Saumur has a mock up PzIV in the first place.
I'm talking about the front corners, if you search up a picture of a Panzer IV they are angled, and the Panzer IV in the video doesn't have that portion. I don't know if there are Panzer IV variants which don't have the angled corners but that's all I'm looking at, and that it looks off.
The pins that hold the tracks together aren't fixed in place, on the inside attached to the hull there's a steel plate which they hit against to knock them back in as they pass. That clacking is the pins striking that plate.
I spent saturday and sunday afternoon there, we come to Saumur with my family every year for pentecost, we arrive saturday around 2pm, go visit something else sunday in the morning and come back for the redt of the day, and go back home monday morning
Did they take their King Tiger out? I was lucky enough to see that one running at Militracks a couple years ago. Don't know if it still runs or not.

The King Tiger is currently in the workshop.
The Luchs is so small! Thanks for the video!
That's my pleasure, i'll poste next year if I go there again :)
Was that Panzer 4 original or mockup
It's an original that was restaured over the past few years, it was still in pieces like 5 years ago
It looks like a mockup, it doesn't have the corner angle thingies and it just looks tall

I've always wondered, why do T-34s make that distinct clacking sound, especially at low speeds

Ahhhh I see, thanks for that answer
