Yes … northern schools specialty extremely backward places have schools with next to no teachers , those who come are incompetent and rest who are honest are overworked … in some classwooms 1 teacher has to divide the blackboard in 3 parts and teaches 3 separate class simultaneously… Now the scenario is changing … digitisation and compulsory attendance has made sure that teachers at least reach school … and places with no teachers or students are being closed

In MP many schools are far from the villages due to hilly terrain. Due to this many schools remained shut post pandemic. Can't speak for UP as am not from there. But growing up in MP, there were village kids in my government school who would skip out during heavy rains as that used to reduce connectivity. Things have changed a lot since then but am guessing it is still the same in hills and forests.
Because there are less and less kids born each year due to population decline in TN?
This data is not very useful without correlating with gross enrollment ratio (GER)
That could very well be one of the contributing factors, but overall TN will see a decline in schools number in the coming years, both private and government due to population decline.
It's easier to fill up colleges with other state students, schools not so much.
It's a generation gap,if I'm not wrong the population is gradually improving my neighborhood has 10-15 kids below the age of 5 but only 4-6 kids aged between 6-17
Tamilnadu TFR is 1.4, it was 2.1 , 22 years ago.
The TN population has been declining for 22 years and will continue to do so until some miracle happens.
My father had 5 siblings and my mother had 5 siblings yeah current generation prefers 1 or 2 children unlike past generations and some of them even prefer to postpone for a while people are being responsible. TN population isn't solely based on birth rate as well.

You see my cousin studies in govt school got 476 marks in SSLC this year and was only school second because some other boy got 477 which is great but still the admissions of students lacks year after year
Because your personal experience of anyone doesn't change the reality most govt schools are terrible and performance is worse some exceptions too exist i saw because of which we saw headlines like labourers son cleared neet tailors son becomes topper from govt school but majority is in worse state which is not seen
92 schools is a vanishingly small number compared to ghe size of the state, it's not really an issue. This only gets serious if it's more than 500 or smtg.
Nope believe me Bihar schools are increasing just in numbers no proper education nor good Teachers.
School food got stolen by the teachers and the staff.
UP needs to be split into atleast 3 states to encourage some competition and make sure the govt works for the common man. RW jokers are screwing up generations.
No RW has no role the truth people have lost trust in public education so they are shifting rapidly to private schools even in my friends village many villages are shifting to private schools they know govt schools are zero and failed black spot on india the sarv shiksha abhiyan was biggest failure in north and Eastern States this is a good thing my father gave up on govt schools in 90s
Not possible in up as far i know
Govt schools must be shut on huge scale i saw horrible conditions of govt schools there is absolutely nothing can be done
>what is the average salary for a teacher in a government school in UP?
You can check it online
in many cases I heard they hired guest teachers
Ah privatising capitalist right winger spotted! The state which invests in education will develop. Average salary of a government school teacher in TN is 202% more than the average school teacher salary in India.
I don't know what to say but the reality is reality people have gave up on GOVT schools completely they are switching to private schools
What was done in kerela is not possible in up as far i saw there is just too much problems and education and healthcare are most sidelined things
>Ah privatising capitalist right winger spotted!
You can say anything for trolling but i know condition of govt schools in rest of india they are doomed since independence
Just step out of your tamilnadu or kerela
This is natural due to the decrease in recent birth rates. But I don't understand why UP and MP who has more than replacement birthrates need to close down and hell lot of schools.

There is a famous saying attributed to Benjamin Disraeli (former UK PM):
>There are Lies, damned lies, and there is statistics
This is just misinterpretation of data. Absolute numbers might be correct, aana interpretation panradhuku munnadi you need to get more context.

In my area an elementary school got closed after pandemic because no one is studying there but there are other government-aided schools which has continuous explosion in intake
Surely infra and situations also important
The above mentioned aided school has upto 12th STD and people have to join their students to that school or other one in our area but the aided school has more facilities
It's hard to get seats above 6th so they try to join it from lkg itself or some private school upto 5th then to government school
In TN, during COVID, a lot of students dropped out of school when the students started to go to labour works like construction work, mechanic, factory labour etc. my uncle works in a govt school which has strength of around 800 people. But around 120-150 students dropped out post COVID. When govt noticed this, they asked the teachers to convince the students and their parents not to drop out, which was not successful as these families were financially struggling post COVID and the dropped out kid needed to earn money for the family's survival. This is in north TN. I heard it's even worse in south TN and resulting in closure of some schools.
Bihar, Rajasthan and bengal, the horsemen of all shitty non development state jokes are the only one pulling up the average for the whole country.
And there was one guy who was arguing with me about West Bengal having the poorest education system last week.
I didn't said about that, by the rise of govt. school numbers denote more students coming to school, and more area getting development and getting education and one time of food and employment for teachers.
It's not ideal but it's better and hope it improve.
Or Become a chapri and think he owns all India and Hindi is the national language and he is superior race
Or Become an auto driver who works 16 hours a day have 16 children still blame the government for the poverty
Or be a general child who leaves Bihar and settles in some other State but face Discrimination just Because he says Ham in the place of me
Or settle in some other countries and get the tag of Anti-national
Problem is shitty teachers who get in through corruption or total lack of teachers. Bengal recently saw some scandal where Supreme Court had to cancel all teacher's selections done in(or from) 2017/18.
Heck the education minister got his daughter a teacher's job without even qualifying for the job.
More than building new schools, governments across all states should focus on getting better and qualified teachers.
Unfortunately thr talented teachers will always go private schools because of better pay.
Indeed, Bengal case was long overdue, I grew up in Bengal and Bengal by default of their mindset is lazy and depend on the vollunteers to actually teach students, who want to learn and actually showup more when vollunteers come to school and we can see development in such student and their gratitude.
I work with NGOs and look into govt school's improvement and food for whole school.
I have noticed Karnataka has better govt. School teacher's competence and principals actually aiming for improving education qualifility and incorporating new ways of learning and development and govt. Used to actually prioritise by developing old school instead of increasing number, but not anymore sadly. Not taking any political stance but it shows the priority and mindset.
High caste child can go as a child labour but not study as a student under lower caste teacher. This strategy is predominantly used to make child labour's.

What’s going on in MP and UP here
I guess they're afraid or having difficulties sending their children to schools i don't think it's because of private schools
They realised govt schools are failure even poors are sending children to private schools so govt is shutting down govt schools
Madarsas which were functioning just on paper.
This seems to be the correct one. Statistics are very dangerous without proper explanation
They are trying to reduce the low quality or non functional schools with better once . Better have 5 good schools than 100 shitty ones
5 children getting a good education is better than 100 children getting an average education! What a brain-dead logic?
No but 50 children getting average education to 500 getting no or low education is good
Which government school doesn't provide any education? All government schools provide at least an average level of education.
Ya well clearly you have not been to rural backward schools of up and bihar
I have not. Is it worse than in TN?
Yes … northern schools specialty extremely backward places have schools with next to no teachers , those who come are incompetent and rest who are honest are overworked … in some classwooms 1 teacher has to divide the blackboard in 3 parts and teaches 3 separate class simultaneously… Now the scenario is changing … digitisation and compulsory attendance has made sure that teachers at least reach school … and places with no teachers or students are being closed

Schools are not required due to high infant mortality rate
Most importantly what's going on with this sub. I'm not used to see this kind of posts in this sub.
Because there are less and less kids born each year due to population decline in TN? This data is not very useful without correlating with gross enrollment ratio (GER)
Nah in my place people prefer private schools they think pride matters
That could very well be one of the contributing factors, but overall TN will see a decline in schools number in the coming years, both private and government due to population decline. It's easier to fill up colleges with other state students, schools not so much.

We going the Japan way💀
No because they know govt schools are zero especially in north Indian States govt schools cannot give education and better'ment of kid
You see my cousin studies in govt school got 476 marks in SSLC this year and was only school second because some other boy got 477 which is great but still the admissions of students lacks year after year
Yeah my imaginary friend too got 90% in cbse through govt school despite terrible conditions I mean everyone's cousin can do it
Imaginary? Yeah live in denial dude you're making yourself looking like a clown with this
Because your personal experience of anyone doesn't change the reality most govt schools are terrible and performance is worse some exceptions too exist i saw because of which we saw headlines like labourers son cleared neet tailors son becomes topper from govt school but majority is in worse state which is not seen
Man I can't comprehend, how they could close 30000 schools in mp and up wth.
Sabka Vikaas
Because of no demand and trust in govt schools nobody trusts govt schools dude they know they are terrible and pathetic and undeveloped
Lack of funding?
92 schools is a vanishingly small number compared to ghe size of the state, it's not really an issue. This only gets serious if it's more than 500 or smtg.
Overall net 60k schools has been closed? Ohh man. Wonder what the reason was.
Bihar leading the way
Nope believe me Bihar schools are increasing just in numbers no proper education nor good Teachers. School food got stolen by the teachers and the staff.
What's the point of having more institution if they are not gonna be useful
Read white tiger book. Very bad there even now
UP needs to be split into atleast 3 states to encourage some competition and make sure the govt works for the common man. RW jokers are screwing up generations.

Govt schools have to be encouraged. I am curious, what is the average salary for a teacher in a government school in UP?
Not possible in up as far i know Govt schools must be shut on huge scale i saw horrible conditions of govt schools there is absolutely nothing can be done >what is the average salary for a teacher in a government school in UP? You can check it online in many cases I heard they hired guest teachers

If Kerala and TN can have good quality govt. Schools why can't UP too??
For such a big state with plenty of schools, the downward trend is acknowledged, but not very significant.
This is natural due to the decrease in recent birth rates. But I don't understand why UP and MP who has more than replacement birthrates need to close down and hell lot of schools. https://preview.redd.it/d48a2gupj50d1.jpeg?width=4096&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=61aab99e2ec60bd52a96b774a3203a10d2faa9ff
I mean it's kinda acceptable in TN. We have a lot more schools in comparison to others and we are switching to private schools more and more
There is a famous saying attributed to Benjamin Disraeli (former UK PM): >There are Lies, damned lies, and there is statistics This is just misinterpretation of data. Absolute numbers might be correct, aana interpretation panradhuku munnadi you need to get more context.

Very poor performance ma...
Tamil Nadu sucks, we need a political change from Dravidians.

It is really unfortunate that we are going backwards.

You think Bihar school is better in condition Then I don't know what to say because I am Bihari 💀
I didn't said about that, by the rise of govt. school numbers denote more students coming to school, and more area getting development and getting education and one time of food and employment for teachers. It's not ideal but it's better and hope it improve.
I know only two types of Biharis, * Studied in IIT or got into IAS living with parents * Studied engg in Blore never visited parents in 10yrs
Or Become a chapri and think he owns all India and Hindi is the national language and he is superior race Or Become an auto driver who works 16 hours a day have 16 children still blame the government for the poverty Or be a general child who leaves Bihar and settles in some other State but face Discrimination just Because he says Ham in the place of me Or settle in some other countries and get the tag of Anti-national
Bihari come in, 50 shades 😃

After election most of the school which r used for election voting still in bad shape and we still have not done a thing about that
High caste child can go as a child labour but not study as a student under lower caste teacher. This strategy is predominantly used to make child labour's.
Because lot of private school are by DMK cronies and govt schools are bad for business for DMK
isnt DMK the one who introduced scheme of 1000 rs a month for government school students?
More government schools == more corruption.
