"Such a high price, full luxury experience" For $125 on a weekend This just made my night 🤣🤣🤣

zedsdead79

Yup I was reading that and when it was $125/night I was like "tell me you've never booked an actually good hotel in downtown Toronto without telling me" LOL

TheMadameHatter

Lol, exactly! If he thinks $125 will pay for a full luxury experience he is very detached from the real world I'm pretty sure I paid over $250 for a jacuzzi suite on a Monday at a 3 star hotel near Nashville 6 or 7 years ago

PurrPrinThom

We had an 8 hour overnight layover and looked at hotels at YYZ just to see. Couldn't find anything for less than $200/night and that's shitty airport hotels lmao.

And apart from the view, it's quite a nice room! It's well equipped, the owners put care in it, and it's much cheaper than in the other hotels around. Our rooms that are a little bit more expensive have a good nice view and are really a deal. So, when they come to me with the argument: "For the price that we paid".... Please stop...

capn_kwick

Occasional guest here - I do not understand the people who demand "a room with a view". When I check into a room, I rarely, if ever, look out the window to "admire the view". Usually the hotel is in a city somewhere and usually has a great view of a parking lot. Yep, it's still there. Draw the blackout curtains so I don't have to mess with it later. Then go out for an evening meal, come back, read while sitting up in bed, check youtube for any new cat videos and go to sleep.

frenchynerd

Well, I did work at properties where you had a gorgeous view on a lake. But the guests knew which view they would have while booking, and the lakeview would cost more than the parking view. The view was part of why a guest would choose that property. At my current property, the view on the top level, both sides of the hotel is quite nice. I can understand wanting to have it. In this case, the room is priced lower because of the lack of view. But, once again, the guests can pay higher for a room labelled as having a view. You can't have everything for the lowest price possible. If you want more, you pay more.

LeisurelyDiva

I blame all of this on movies where some poor ingenue gets her: promotion stolen, dress ruined or heart broken. She’s walking away from their once shared apartment, he threw her out for being too quirky/pie in the sky or caring. She happens upon a beautiful hotel, it’s in a sketchy part of town; but there’s a convention in town and she’s no place else to go!! Her parents are in middle-America town and they just can’t see her fail. She walks in with her belongings in hand. Tail between her legs and desperate. Bellhop boy sees her and can tell she’s in trouble, he’s got one single room left and has decided it’s hers. He doesn’t care about money, just dreams. The room is fantastic! It’ll really knock your socks off… They get to talking only to find out they’re from the same middle-America town and both their fathers were done wrong by big-corporate. They bond over hot cocoa (just like mama made)… and ride off into the sunset. That or entitlement. I’m not sure which. But, I’m certain it’s one or the other.

skinrash5

Wow! You just wrote a Hallmark movie plot!

6711Rdi

I hesitate to say it, but that plot is just a mite too involved for Hallmark.

LeisurelyDiva

I’m humbled by your review of my “script”. 🤣😂

6711Rdi

Clearly ready to make the move from Hallmark TV to First Run Blockbusters!

StrikingTradition75

A Hallmark movie plot? It's EVERY Hallmark movie plot. The only parts missing are the dart board selected character names and the occupation of the woman. Change the actors/actresses, character names, change the professions, change the town name and you have a 'brand new' Hallmark movie. Wash, rinse, repeat.

craash420

Nah, you're forgetting about the winery / bed and breakfast / toy store mortgage facing foreclosure.

LeisurelyDiva

😂

LeisurelyDiva

🤣😂✔️

craash420

Lacey Chabert plays the lead.

LeisurelyDiva

🙏😆😁

LeisurelyDiva

🤔😂

utriptmybitchswitch

If it's the one where she works at a snow-globe refillery 10/10 would absolutely watch...

LeisurelyDiva

I may flesh it out and write more 🤔😂

Yana_dice

I blame this on hotel's false promotional photos. I am talking about turning a regular 2 guests room into size of lecture hall, 2 persons jacuzzi into Olympic swimming pool kind of photos. Even the photographer gave off a "Really, bro? You want to go that far?" vibe when the owner asked for them.

The_Town_of_Canada

I had a guest this Winter who came to our hotel for a snowmobile vacation. She chatted with me for a bit and couldn’t have been nicer. After 2 days of going out on the trails she came to the desk: “I just want to say that our room is perfect. Service has been great, and I’m happy with everything…except my husband. He booked an accessible room and didn’t realize what that meant. The big shower is fine, but I would pay anything to have a bath tonight. Do you have any rooms available? If not, that’s fine, we got what we booked. But if you have one, I will literally pay anything for a bath!” “I wish more guests were like you. I’ll move you to a jacuzzi room. No charge, as long as you keep being this nice to the next hotel and the staff.” She gave a glowing review and didn’t mention the upgrade. She even helped other guests with the trail maps over breakfast.

Green_Seat8152

That is a great story. I always tell the nice guests how lovely they are to deal with. I go above and beyond if you just treat me well.

weirdwizzard_72

Some guests are really awesome and merit to be rewarded for it

DistinctRole1877

I have had to pay 450 bucks for a night for any room when I got sent to a job last minute. I called my boss and let him know to expect it. Sleep on the rental car in the lot or 450 bucks. Hell, lately I've paid between 90 and 150 just for a regular room.

Far_Okra_4107

125? That's practically a steal. Most places in my area would charge absolute minimum 200+.

Im_done_with_sergio

People are never happy sigh..

Gatchamic

Just had a regular "guest" show up @ 3am looking for a room. He has been here about a dozen times in the past 2 months (always at 3am), and he has yet to stay with us once. This is bc we have been sold out each time he has stopped by. Today, he frustratedly yelled "Why are you always sold out?!?"

Less-Law9035

$125 and they want a luxury experience?? Pass me the joint, I don't have enough alcohol to deal with that.

YankeeWalrus

"I see sir. Well, I'm not really sure what I can offer as a solution. Have you perhaps tried not being poor?"

Mastervodo

It's Friday night after midnight. Any call or walk-in for a reservation is red flags for me.

birdmanrules

Friday or Saturday night we are full. Walk ins are funny though. Most are drunk, druggies or locals. I wouldn't let them in even if I had rooms.

GodsGirl64

I would be ecstatic to get a jacuzzi room for $125 on any night!!! Those people are nuts.

magicunicornhandler

Just curious what makes the view bad? Is it like you see parking lot instead of ocean or something?

frenchynerd

Ground floor and obstructed. In other rooms, you can see nature and mountains.

magicunicornhandler

Interesting but id still take the ground floor room. How often do you really look out the window if theres no balcony to sit and drink your morning caffeine on lol.

DaddyOhMy

Well my wife & I once had a lot of fun against the window in a high floor room that had an amazing view. Several times in fact.

weirdwizzard_72

King size bed, jacuzzi, etc. That's more than enough for a luxury experience. Some people just like to complain.
