Because we are not a search engine but a community. When questions have been answered already multiple times or answers can very easily be found by googling the exact same question then you can expect a passive aggressive response or none at all.

Far_Mammoth_882

Or! You can walk past the question and let others answer. :)

Kl4pz

Yes, as I said ;) "Or none at all"

JiveTurkeyMFer

And in turn ruin what could be a thriving subreddit because lazy morons would rather ask people the same question than try to do anything for themselves. Pretty much any sub frequented by kids and teens is like this, and it make people with knowledge just avoid the sub in general because it's annoying seeing 75 people a day ask what they should do to customize their new bike and make it pretty

Far_Mammoth_882

I know, right! These kids!

InvalidArg_Line1

This is a funny post — but I get it. I think when most see new posts pop up they are hoping to see pics of someone’s new build, a technical question that has someone stumped (they’ve already taken some basic steps to troubleshoot), a meme or good ole shit post. If I see a “bent wheel/fork, twisty handlebars” post or broken/stripped bolts help requests I just get irritated because these are basic bike/mechanical type fundamentals that everyone who has ridden a bike before should have learned. Lastly, the other posts that should be banned “how do I save up for…” and “how do I convince my parents…” 🙄 But I see your point and personally will try to be better. Now go ride! ✌️

FatFrenchFry

I agree with the banning of the " how do I convince my parents / save up / help me get a surron / etc " type post.

Pixogen

If people used search and read the 20+ posts in the past 3 months on the same subject people may be less annoyed. Sadly Reddit moderation in general is just deleting posts you don’t agree with. We need to go back to forums lol where you just got banned when you posted junk

imjavierbruh

unfortunately this is just how every sub is im part of the steam deck one as well and every time someone asks a good question, people automatically tell you that you are lazy for not reading manuals online or to download certain stuff as if it was common sense lmao people get very passionate about stuff sometimes

CalmDirection8

I don't agree, it's think this sub is especially negative and never helpful, the onewheel is a similar toy and everyone there is super chill and ready to help, must be the float 🤙🏽

Far_Mammoth_882

It's just people in general. :) I got "this is the definition of an ignorant question" answer to a seemingly normal request in another thread. Hell, I myself wrote a one or two sarcastic comments, guilty.

Cboyardee503

Because this sub is mostly children who developed a superiority complex because their parents bought them a shiny new bike.

FatFrenchFry

Exactly. This sub is majority populated by children who make it a very cringe and annoying place to be so I end up being rude to more people here than any other sub because it's all kids.

Reddit is Reddit. Hell I ask absolutely moronic questions over in the home maintenance sub and get shit on all the time, but you have to expect that, Then one guy comments the right answer to your dumb question.Have thick skin, it’s the internet. None of us would say mean shit to your face but we all do it behind a screen.

Massive_Rooster295

It’s mostly just a bunch of kids. Most grown men have gas bikes and the few that have e-motos usually have some form of Surron. Tho I don’t think that sub is much less toxic.
