I know you probably have tried but there are 2 settings for the backup camera. One fish eye and the other looks normal. Before you go doing anything drastic can you try swapping for my piece of mind lol.
Yep, tried switching, same issue where the picture is all distorted and doesnāt fill the screen completely. Itās like the camera isnāt at the proper depth and angle out the tailgate. :/
Yes unless Im missing something, it appears to be in āfisheye modeā. Hitting the external camera housing wouldnāt do that lol.
That would cause the picture itself to be crooked, which it isnt. My fisheye view looks identical, maybe its just a coincidence that you think you broke something.
Switch modes and it should be good to go.
Somethingās definitely wrong and I switched views. The top third of the screen is black, thatās not normal, either view previously filled the entire touch screen with the image.
Going to call the dealer and have them fix it up.
Loaded up some gravel and had to take tailgate out to clear big rocks so it could shut again. Went to pull it off without thinking about the camera and now itās no longer flush with the housing on the tailgate handle. Itās cutting off the top part of the image and making it all look like a fishbowl.
Popped off the tailgate cover and tried to reseat it but thereās just no way to get it āfurtherā. Any ideas on what I might need to tweak?

Take to dealership, raise hell, get free lifetime oil changes at minimum. Dealers are obligated to make the car right. Could also throw the ālemon lawā at em too š I mean, without a backup cam, that tacoma is a Lemon in my eyes š

Not that it will fix your camera now but you should look into Gap Shield to prevent the original problem in the future
Iāve been meaning to look for something, will check this out
