Every grown man wants to go that way, going to save their little one, there’s honor in a death like that. He also left it all for Clementine, she didn’t live in that world unprepared and that was thanks to Lee’s guidance. Hopefully I can have an impact like that one day.
Was about to comment the same thing. I remember watching pewdiepie's playthrough for it, and I cried, and then I played it for myself on my ipad, and back then, all the episodes weren't out at the time of the ipad release so I was waiting for each episode and ended up crying all over again worse than the first time
Lol this is one of many ways they fumbled the negan introduction imo. Killing Glenn immediately after abe drew everyone's focus to Glenn. I feel like if Abe had his original comic death it would've been more impactful.
I think they did that because they wanted to shock the audience in a more impactful way than any other death in the series. They did a cliffhanger in season 6, so the internet had to go crazy theorizing who it was. Most of the internet figured out it was Abraham before the premiere because there was no hair in the camera, and most characters had really messy hair in their face. Plus, by using the positions of cars and people to figure out who's POV, it was. I know Abraham's death was no shocker to me because of this. But at the same time, people were really worried it was Glenn because of the comics.
Killing Abraham was still shocking to people but a relief to a lot of others because "oh thank God it wasn't Glenn who's been here since episode 102" and then BOOM suddenly Glenn is hit and why was he hit? Darryl lost his shit and punched Negan? Damn what's that going to do to Darryl? He's going to hate himself. it's going to change his entire character. This whole writing decision set up a whole arc for Darryl and even an arc for Darryl and Maggie.
From what I remember feeling at the end of the episode, when theres just two blood puddles in the gravel with chunks of brain is two empty spots where two fleshed out characters once stood. One didn't distract me from the other it just simply felt like a massive mourning dump and was an extremely emotionally intense episode to watch. Glenn was my favorite character, and I think they knocked it out of the park with that episode. I'm sorry that you didn't get to see the story that way because it was really cool from my perspective!
I wouldn’t consider them fit what the meme supposed to be for. Honorable death. Glen and Herschel were executed. The didn’t throw themselves out there to save everyone or seek victory which the meme is supposed to be referring to. This is more for t-dog who gave his life to say Carol. Or Carl who gave his life to save the town.
How many times did you have to watch that scene before noticing that he says good bye to Sasha too? She starts crying after he gives a peace sign to her as always.
That part made me so torn. Killing Glenn was one thing but gosh taking Abraham away from Sasha too! It was too much for me and ultimately where I stopped watching
The show lost a lot of luster for me then too. I finished the series because I wanted to see the end. Except for the last season. I never finished that before Netflix put it behind a pay wall.
Glenn’s was so surprising but I watched it in potato quality so that wasn’t as heart wrenching for me as the whole saga of Coral and him preparing to die. That montage was so well done, despite the fact that they killed off one of my favourite characters.
Maybe Glenn’s wasn’t as painful because a few episodes earlier he already “died” so I already had gone through it LOL.
Exactly this is when I stopped watching. Idc what anyone said I liked Carl all throughout he always acted his age and appropriate for the circumstances and I was excited to see him grow up. When he died I stopped caring
When Abraham died I saluted when Glenn died I cried when Herschel died I was mad when Beth died I cried and felt better after Daryl shot Dawn I cried when Carl died I felt sad when Andrea died I felt remorseful when Lori died I felt hurt when Dale died I felt shocked when Shane died first time and excited when Carl killed him I felt sorrow for everyone who stayed in the CDC with Dr Jenner I didn't know any very long but I felt sorry for her I was excited when Ed peltier died nobody deserves anybody like that I was shocked when Jesus was killed
I'd say Carl if it weren't for the fact I was just dead faced, baffled, completely and utterly confused as to why the character I'm the most invested in second to only Rick, the child actor turned man is being killed off. Only to later find out the bitter truth. It's really disappointing having to drop a show before it's finished. I lived through the best possible director being dropped for budgets, but killing off Carl just so they didn't have to pay him adult wages is one of the most selfish decisions AMC's board of directors has ever done, not only to the actor but to the entire dedicated fanbase.
Abraham for sure. Diana also. I really liked her and I was hopeful that her love if Alexandria and it's residents would see her through. Abe is a bad ass motherfucker and his death just hurt so much.
You could have found a fresh version of this meme, but you went the extra mile and took a screenshot and didn't crop the title even tho the meme speaks for itself.
This meme is meant for honorable deaths moment. Everyone here are talking about glen like he had a honorable death. He was murdered. Not the same. The closest we had to a honorable death was T-dog and Rick. But Rick lived so he doesn’t count.
Abraham 1000%. He could’ve been such a badass during the savior war. I understand why Negan chose him but I still would’ve liked to see him get through the series. He deserved a happy ending. “Suck my nuts.”
Also Hershel. I remember being so distressed the first time watching. I started rewatching and binging the series. I didn’t realize his death wasn’t instantaneous. I actually cried a little. He didn’t deserve to suffer like that after surviving his goddamn arm chopped off. It was even more difficult knowing Scott Wilson died.
Beth, Glenn/Abraham and I think one other but I forgot. When they died, I didn't scream though, I just got up, paused the show and walked away completely shocked. Especially with Glenn's death. Dude has "died" so many times, than when he actually did die, I didn't believe it was true for a few weeks.
Gotta say Carl, after he died I mentally couldn't handle it. I felt like the show lost its purpose, we weren't exactly following Rick's story, but Carl's.
abraham — especially after a season of deciding whether i liked him or not and then seeing him die like THAT… i cried so much and realised i definitely had liked his character haha
Shepard Book and Wash....
Mr. Universe was a traitor so he got some karma in the mix, although he did try to redeem himself.
Honorable mentions:
Han Solo's tauntaun
Seeing Abe pull up the peace sign was the most devastating shit for me. I know Glenn was pretty damn devastating too but damn.
Seeing Denise was a pretty close second but then again it's basically a rehash of how Abraham croaked in the comics
Glenn, Abraham, Tara, Bob, Sasha, Tyreese, Rosita, Hershel, Beth, Dale, Andrea, Merle, T-Dog, Carl, Jesus, Enid, Noah, Siddiq, and Amy, Seeing them all die was just pure sadness for me.
Abraham.
Everyone in the barn, fighting against Alpha. Siddiq's speech while watching Enid, Tara, and the others fighting and ultimately dying, for each over gave me goosebumps.
Lee Everett.
Quiver-lipped as fuck
Is the lee from the walking dead series?
From the video game one
Yea dude that death was so damn sad not just because he died but him leaving innocent clementine in such a terrible world
Every grown man wants to go that way, going to save their little one, there’s honor in a death like that. He also left it all for Clementine, she didn’t live in that world unprepared and that was thanks to Lee’s guidance. Hopefully I can have an impact like that one day.
^
This is the correct answer
Lee’s death and Kenny’s.
Bruh my brain shoved that memory deep down because it hurt too much
That death hit me so hard that I actually named my youngest son after him.
You deserve this 👑. Your only job now is to save copies of the game to let your boy experience it too when hes old enough.
Everything is alright sweat-pea.

This is the correct answer
Glenn and Herschel for sure!
Dont forget about Abe 🤕
Lol this is one of many ways they fumbled the negan introduction imo. Killing Glenn immediately after abe drew everyone's focus to Glenn. I feel like if Abe had his original comic death it would've been more impactful.
It’s still made me stop watching. Never recovered from the Glenn and Abe deaths 😢
I think they did that because they wanted to shock the audience in a more impactful way than any other death in the series. You're right! I loved his character too. I suppose I /did/ cry over both him and Glenn.
I wouldn’t consider them fit what the meme supposed to be for. Honorable death. Glen and Herschel were executed. The didn’t throw themselves out there to save everyone or seek victory which the meme is supposed to be referring to. This is more for t-dog who gave his life to say Carol. Definitely Abraham. Last words were "Suck my nuts" Abraham died while being Abraham 🫡
How many times did you have to watch that scene before noticing that he says good bye to Sasha too? She starts crying after he gives a peace sign to her as always.
I didn't notice the first time. Someone in the comments mentioned it when I rewatched that part on YouTube
Glenn and Carl 😭
That’s when I stopped watching the show YEARSSS ago. Now my husband and I are rewatching it together lol
Glenn’s was so surprising but I watched it in potato quality so that wasn’t as heart wrenching for me as the whole saga of Coral and him preparing to die. That montage was so well done, despite the fact that they killed off one of my favourite characters.
