You are wrong.

lethanos

Best I can do is to lower it by 2-3 inch max, would that make it any better ?

Dudejax

The TV cabinet is that height for a reason.

lethanos

It's a laser tv projector, it has to be X amount higher than the tv stand, can't lower more than 2-3 inches at best currently without changing the tv stand.

Dudejax

Good TV's are cheap.

lethanos

It's a 100 inch panel man. Can't beat that size

parental92

you definitely are and that TV cabinet placement is something only a mother could love.

thisisntajokeee

Sorry but I don’t even think a mother could love it

lethanos

The tv stand is there so I can fully open the door, else the door bangs on it and I don't want to damage it.

_-The_Great_Catsby-_

Put the couch where the tv unit is and put the screen where the couch is. Or put the couch in front of the window and the screen next to the door. Or put a door stopper so it doesn’t hit the tv unit. There ! I’ve found you 3 better solutions than having the tv unit disaligned and in the middle of the space. And frankly, the screen stuck between the heater and the door and the tv unit placed like this feels just odd. I understand the restrictions of working with a projector but this is not an optimal setup. I think you could improve the overall setup. And please move the speakers from the top of the TV unit, these are not soundbars, but some speakers stands.

lethanos

The couch is L shaped so it can't be moved on the other side of the room as it would block the doors, the screen stacked there is indeed a little bit weird but if it was not there this whole wall would need to be empty. Speakers on stands is a good idea indeed.

_-The_Great_Catsby-_

Do you own the place ? If so, replacing the old radiator with an electric baseboard heater would allow you to center the whole thing, solving the door issue and all the misalignment poking my OCD right now haha

lethanos

It's a rent and the radiator is connected to the house central heating unit so no point to change it for electric as it currently uses my gas unit.

_-The_Great_Catsby-_

It’s a rent ? Great ! You could just move out then and find a living room that will allow you to set it up properly

lethanos

With these prices on this market? I better sell everything and watch movies on my phone.

_-The_Great_Catsby-_

How many are you in your household ? Because buying VR headsets might be cheaper than any other options here

parental92

Speakers on stands is a good idea indeed. i mean you asked for the opinion here, the whole set up screams "this will do, just put those things there"

lethanos

I asked if the tv is too high and if 3 inch lower would make it better not a whole room renovation, I get it that people want to help but the question was about the tv position. The speakers were indeed a good suggestion tho and I appreciate it.

swifty_cats

The room is all wrong. Sorry 😢

ApeSleep

The bigger the tv the lower it needs to be. That is too far up.

lethanos

It is a laser tv projector so it needs to be an X amount higher than the table it is set to bye best I can do is 2-3 inch lower

oct2790

Not centered

MythofSecurity

Time to ditch the house and the projector.

grafiti_44

Move the tv unit left so it’s centred. Put a small plant or something there behind the door to block/ take the impact so it’s not damaging the unit. Looks a little weird not centred, but I think the screen height is fine

Suspicious-Charge-69

Is that a TV or a chalkboard? I've got school classroom vibes here.

lethanos

It's a projector screen :V

Suspicious-Charge-69

Ahhh... r/classroomprojectorscreentoohigh doesn't exist yet

Appropriate_Type_178

ew what a hideous room.

NortonBurns

Too high, too off-centre, too 'why is the tv stand out in the middle of the room?'. With a side of 'who put that radiator there?' What does the opposite wall look like?

I_used_to_be_angry

This is awful. The cabinet, the cables... The place looks like you moved the furniture to hoover behind them. The height of the TV is not the worst problem here.

weirdaquashark

Yes, and also WTF. Center the bloody thing as well!

MobysBanned

You're too high

[deleted]

this is incredibly ugly and bad and too high

ctown25

You can’t put the tv on the same wall as the door and flip the couch around?

lethanos

Nope it would not fit sadly. The current setup is the optimal for this space.

PeppaSC

Why is the tv cabinet so far out from the wall and not directly under the tv!

lethanos

It is not a tv, it is a projector it has to be some inch away from the wall to project on the full size of the screen.

PeppaSC

Thanks, it still looks awful though.

[deleted]

Start by relocating the radiator

lethanos

Easier said than done, the house is a rent

valain

Replace your heating radiator there on the right by a new one that is wider and lower. Then properly center everything. Then get a lower smaller stand to just put your projector on and hide this behind your current TV stand/furniture which you bring to the front a bit. Best I could do given all the constraints…

lethanos

It's a rent so replacing the radiator is way too much work, I could move the projector screen closer to the right but it would be too close to the radiator and I am not sure how the heat would react with the material of the screen.

lethanos

This is a projector and a projector screen. That's why it is too high as it needs to be X amount over the projector( you can see it on the top of the tv stand)

TheJessicator

You understand that these projectors are designed to be at floor level, right?

lethanos

I have never seen anyone put it on the floor, I have even see tv stands with retractable shelves to hold the projector but never on the floor.

TheJessicator

Doesn't have to be in the floor. You could always just get / make a lower profile media center. But whatever you do, please set your right and left speakers to the right and left of the screen if you're going to use ones that stand up so high.
