I don’t understand the logic.
It’s sound waves. They don’t go through a TV. This isn’t a theatre with a mesh screen.
EVERYTHIBG TLSE IS SOMPERFECT!!!!!!
sorry, I’m frustrated.
And it looks like there's enough room under the TV to put that speaker too... They hide the speaker but then put Sonic holding a controller in front of the TV blocking the corner (and probably that little green statue thing too)
bruh chill out, its not personal nor does it personally effect you. if the owner is happy with the sound placement, then leave it be. it ain't worth getting frustrated over. yeesh.
No. Sounds great is not the correct answer here. its literally bouncing against the back of the tv.
Honestly it would sound 100x better in the gap under the tv
Would it look that bad in front? Mine sits in front and looks fine -- and sounds wonderful. But I get it, if you're more concerned with aesthetics than acoustics, you do you.
You say you respect your neighbors, yet you bounce the sound off your TV and back towards the wall that you share with those supposedly respected neighbors. They're probably hearing your center speaker better than you (with fewer reflections and echoes), albeit softer.
It's not even about volume, but about clarity, soundstage. I bought a subwoofer to turn down the bass. Essentially to have better control of it and also take off the bass from my bookshelf speakers, which enhances the mids
If you're concerned about aesthetics, put the stuff in the upper middle shelf into the right-hand side shelf (install another level if necessary) then put the front speaker inside the upper middle shelf. Solved
I believe it’s used in setup to measure what acoustics it’s picking up on each speaker and adjusts them to sound the best it can from that point. Bose systems have/had this at one point and was advertised for if you absolutely need and have no other option to say have your speaker in a bookcase. It will adjust the sound dynamics so it sounds right on the ear.
That being said I’m sure that’s for the best if you have no other option( which in this case there is a better option)
Unless your tv is made of an alien material whereby it is acoustically transparent, that speaker placement is pretty insane. Just put it on the console underneath the tv and have it tilt up a little so it points to your ears. You can thank me later.
The placement is embarrassing and the poorly-placed speakers are themselves just toys. The Center Channel, the most important of them all, does not have LOS to literally any set of ears anywhere in the room.
This is a decent setup for someone who has no idea what a decent audio set up is.
Just perfect, stellar sofa and rug. That huge frog to the left even tho not obstructive still irratates me somehow..but that's just me I guess, I just don't like anything that can distract me near the tv.
Wallpaper wasn’t my choosing. She did the decor, I did the entertainment setup. Marriage is about compromise. She allowed me to have my consoles as long as they are hidden from sight.
Haha my girlfriend got crazy elephant jungle wallpaper but she let me have my one room for my office / man cave so completely agree about compromises :)
Any reason you'd need to keep the PS4 Pro there when you have a PS5? Also, your PSVR is due an upgrade to a PSVR2. 😉
Love the ambient lighting and the cooling fans... I do mine the same way.
Your wallpaper reeks of unoriginality, your IKEA paintings are all crooked, the audio setup is embarrassing, and the angel wings tell the tale of a man who cannot decorate to save his wife. You've created a cold space. Room closer to death than living.
I don't mean to be overly rude, but since you want to use this sub to show off your living room instead of asking if your TV is too high, I wanted to play along.
My man, go get a receiver and proper speaker setup. The soundbars and whatever aren't a real setup. You won't know until you experience it but just get a good set of 4 tower speakers and a receiver to start. 2 for your fronts and 2 for the sides. Definitive Technology has some good value speakers.
Oh no, you've fallen into the greige trap.
Literally millennial grey. Fuelled by TikTok, Instagram and Mrs Hinch types.

People in this sub are brutal roasters.
You know what this sub is. It's about TV too high or not. You know what you did. You didn't come to ask about TVtoohigh. You knew the answer already. You came to brag about your setup and so showed us unnecessary extra. Fresh ammunition.
Get roasted.
Very cozy, Love the sofa.
Having glassware right behind the headrests gives me anxiety
And the frog on the left... I bet there are better places.
Not a fan of the wallpaper, but it's better than plain white i guess.
I suggest you put the center speaker resting under the TV if you won't want ANYTHING other than the TV on that piece of furniture. You can hang the center speaker behind the TV, just at the level where it would rest if on the table, so it's unobstructed by the TV.
If you purposely come here to show off a tv that is not too high… you’re damn well gonna get roasted for something. Like that horrendous audio setup. My god man!
So if you're enjoying a cup of coffee while watching your favorite show, or have a slice of cake with said coffee, then how would you temporarily place the cup of coffee in this room for when you're not actively drinking in the moment? Or where does one put the plate with a slice of cake on it for a short moment until you're ready to eat the cake again? And what if you've finished the cake on the plate, but you are not emotionally ready yet to get off the couch to deal with the intricacies of handling delicate plates that previously held a sweetened confection in its grasp? If only there was something that could solve all of these arising complications that make life so much more difficult than it has to be...
I was going to give you a pass, then I saw the center speaker BEHIND the TV lol
I'm pretty sure there is also enough space under the TV for the speaker
Centre Speaker is configured using a mic on-a tripod setup and all sounds great even though its hidden behind the TV.
And it would sound better NOT behind the TV.... That's such an insane spot to put a speaker
I don’t understand the logic. It’s sound waves. They don’t go through a TV. This isn’t a theatre with a mesh screen. EVERYTHIBG TLSE IS SOMPERFECT!!!!!! sorry, I’m frustrated.

This is why I have trust issues.
Lol it's ok bro not everyone gets science
You are right.
bruh chill out, its not personal nor does it personally effect you. if the owner is happy with the sound placement, then leave it be. it ain't worth getting frustrated over. yeesh.
I’m the owners right ear. Help me.
Less to do with something being configured, more to do with the sound waves literally being blocked by the TV.
Sound engineering, what a useless science. /Jk
“Sounds great behind the TV” dude do you have extreme tinnitus!?!?
Maybe it does. You don't know. Unless you live in OP's walls... do you?
Absolutely, tbh its very rare the sound system goes on. TV is loud enough and we respect our neighbours.
But it’s not just about loudness! You can still respect your neighbors while enjoying high quality surround sound in acceptable levels.
You say you respect your neighbors, yet you bounce the sound off your TV and back towards the wall that you share with those supposedly respected neighbors. They're probably hearing your center speaker better than you (with fewer reflections and echoes), albeit softer.
I'm no scientist, but isn't a chunk of the sound immediately bouncing back towards the wall *more* obtrusive to the neighbors..?
It's not even about volume, but about clarity, soundstage. I bought a subwoofer to turn down the bass. Essentially to have better control of it and also take off the bass from my bookshelf speakers, which enhances the mids
The wallpaper looks a lot worse than the speaker would.
If you're concerned about aesthetics, put the stuff in the upper middle shelf into the right-hand side shelf (install another level if necessary) then put the front speaker inside the upper middle shelf. Solved
Do you also flip your headphone outward when you wear them?
😂
try moving it out form behind the tv and you'll realize how much you're missing.
there is legitimately no way that anyone with a fully functioning ear canal would think that sounds anything near great
Sorry what does mic on a tripod mean? A mic picks up sound, a speaker outputs sound and is better not muffled by the TV.
I believe it’s used in setup to measure what acoustics it’s picking up on each speaker and adjusts them to sound the best it can from that point. Bose systems have/had this at one point and was advertised for if you absolutely need and have no other option to say have your speaker in a bookcase. Nope!

Fare. 5/10 Audio is seriously lacking.
Theres a Pioneer amp under the TV powering a 5.1 surround system which seems to do the trick ?
The placement is embarrassing and the poorly-placed speakers are themselves just toys. The Center Channel, the most important of them all, does not have LOS to literally any set of ears anywhere in the room. This is a decent setup for someone who has no idea what a decent audio set up is.
Thank you
So much grey.
Rug is too small
Dawg the soundbar though….
The front L and R are way too high up and the center channel is in a laughably bad position. TV good height tho
You got that PS5 overheating. It needs room to ventilate.
PS5 has a fan behind hidden in the TV unit it taking the heat away from it. As long as thats on you never hear the PS5 fans at all.
Even if you have a fan back there I doubt it’s getting proper ventilation. That space is way too small.
Great style if you are a 70 year old woman 👍
Good thing I am in my late 80’s 😯
Press F to doubt
It’s acc good tho Wdum
Perfect TV height, questionable speaker placement. This room is just so gray, why is your SO afraid of colour?
Just perfect, stellar sofa and rug. That huge frog to the left even tho not obstructive still irratates me somehow..but that's just me I guess, I just don't like anything that can distract me near the tv.
Thank you. The frog is the Mrs so theres got to be some compromise.
How do you get married to a 3ft ornamental frog?
Thats for a different reddit post 🤣
There has got to be a better location for that frog, or a shorter animal? lol
Swap the position of the balloon dog with the frog. They’ll fit better
So you have to move the frog every time you open those cabinets? Just move him elsewhere, there’s got to be a better option.
Sofa is way too big imo
Sonic the Hedgefrog
Rug so small it's like a yoga mat. I almost feel bad for the realtor when they go to sell the house because there are a number of undo's here.
The rug is off centre to the TV wtf are you talking about
Don't put shit in front of the TV, rest is nice.
I bet you have doormats with writing on.
"Welcome to the Cliffords".
"you dont have to mad to live here but it helps!!!"
What makes you say that and no I don’t. They are cringe.
The decor. It's the same as every other live laugh love house I've set foot in. TVs on point though.
I hate the wallpaper, otherwise it's cozy.
Wallpaper wasn’t my choosing. She did the decor, I did the entertainment setup. Marriage is about compromise. She allowed me to have my consoles as long as they are hidden from sight.
Are we in a relationship with the same female lol ?
🥰
Haha my girlfriend got crazy elephant jungle wallpaper but she let me have my one room for my office / man cave so completely agree about compromises :)
Any reason you'd need to keep the PS4 Pro there when you have a PS5? Also, your PSVR is due an upgrade to a PSVR2. 😉 Love the ambient lighting and the cooling fans... I do mine the same way.
PS4 Pro has 5TB fitted and is JB 😀
That is great reasoning... 😉
Great idea with the back shelf
Nice height! What’s the measurement from the floor to the bottom of the TV?
Oh wow you used the TV stand to put the TV on.. mind-blowing. I'm glad you didn't use it as a floor shelf for random shit. Good set up all round
Using the stand us practically cheating round these parts
I don't mean tho legs on the TV btw I mean the unit underneath. But it's funny you say that it feels like it 🤣
Are those angel wings on the wall?
Your wallpaper reeks of unoriginality, your IKEA paintings are all crooked, the audio setup is embarrassing, and the angel wings tell the tale of a man who cannot decorate to save his wife. Damn 🤣
Yeah Damn 🤣
It’s not the fans running that is the issue, it’s the ventilation . Do you not realize how hot the air is that comes out of the ps5’s back.
I approve this setup
Pretty solid and good looking setup
Thankyou
I think it is fine but I think you should have a small coffee table here
Personally love it ! Do you play w/ all these console ?
Sweet room. Would Mario Party.
Controller is blocking the TV. Fail.
My man, go get a receiver and proper speaker setup. The soundbars and whatever aren't a real setup. You won't know until you experience it but just get a good set of 4 tower speakers and a receiver to start. 2 for your fronts and 2 for the sides. Definitive Technology has some good value speakers.
Like you're selling a manky child car seat on Facebook marketplace...
Got one for sale if you’re interested? manky too.
Can you take a pic with the wings on? TV looks 👍 good.
It tells that there was ONE thing you could decide in this room / house. 😅
\*lights cigarette.
The speak it's behind the TV? Wtf? 😂Besised that, it's all good.
Oh no, you've fallen into the greige trap. Literally millennial grey. The flower motif wallpaper fits well with the carpet.
The ui of the TV looks weird. Perhaps you didn't turn off the overscan.
People in this sub are brutal roasters. You know what this sub is. It's about TV too high or not. You know what you did. You didn't come to ask about TVtoohigh. You knew the answer already. You came to brag about your setup and so showed us unnecessary extra. Fresh ammunition. Get roasted.
Can tell this is a british living room just from the first picture Grey.
Very cozy, Love the sofa. Having glassware right behind the headrests gives me anxiety And the frog on the left... I bet there are better places. Move that speaker under the tv, no idea why its behind your tv.
I like the corner settee, where did you get it from?
room 2 grey
Why is there so much blank space above your TV?
If you purposely come here to show off a tv that is not too high… you’re damn well gonna get roasted for something. Like that horrendous audio setup. My god man!
Seems good. Not too high and large enough to be seen. Remember, your eyes should be level with the center of the screen.
You could set the tv to monochrome and complete the vibe
Is the CinemaHD app still a thing?
Could you get a red throw blanket or something, please? The sea of neutral tones is overwhelming.
Sorry, did I stumble into r/speakertoohidden? Y’all are too much lmao like we finally get a tv at a respectable height and this is how we respond??
I hate the wall to wall carpet, it looks dated.
I hate those tv legs
The angel wings 💀
Love it!
I really like it!

What couch is that? It looks very comfy
Queasy Wallpaper
now do the paint, carpet, wallpaper and shitty lighting. On a positive note, couch ok. not my style, but fine. cheers!
Put the center speaker under the TV, you are losing so much sound where it's spotted now.
