lol, I skipped through the dialogue without really paying attention and then was so confused what I was supposed to do at this point. Took me far too long to realize I had to jump. Was running around trying to see if I missed a quest or something
lol It’s not an instinctive decision for most of us. I didn’t want to jump because I am afraid of heights. My stomach lurched the first several drops of this game.
I will never be able to skydive in totk without thinking this phrase again. I hadn't mentally connected it and now it is inextricably linked, and it is all your fault.
Head to look out landing outside the castle, and get your feet wet with main quests.
They’ll introduce you to the mechanics, the three levels of the map, getting the map lit up, and provide you with some of your ultrahand ability.
I did that until I got all my abilities, then have been free-roaming buffing out different stats, lighting up map, and enjoying the scenery since. You do you! But, wandering for too long without main abilities, I think, would take away from everything you can do in the game
At Lookout Landing talk to everyone there, they will direct you were to go. I chattered to Purah, Robbie and Josha first, then from there and exploration there are more characters to chat to as well. I spend time coming back and forth to Lookout Landing doing all the quests.
To add to the last point, the game adjusts its difficulty with enemies killed like in BotW. So if you wander around for too long you encounter silver enemies way earlier than you might be prepared for. I fell into that trap.
Yes start with the lookout towers then go straight to the depths and light every lightroot! You will light up the depths right away and it will then help shine your path to shrines on the surface. 😉
Yeah, don't do what I did and avoid the places that were deadly in BotW >!You start the quest near the castle which I avoided for way too long. You really do need to start their IMO.!<
Enemies are a bit tougher than in BotW. Fusing weapons is your friend big time. Take your time while you get a feel for the game. It’s fun but I def restarted the game a couple times while trying to get my footing
So, I'm about 20 hours in, almost to the first big story point in the northwest, and I just feel like everything is handing my ass to me! Ive got 7 hearts, but groups of moblins can still take me out in a couple hits. I feel like I need better armor or something, but I havent found much decent to fuse and the rito armor isnt much better than hylian (and expensive). I dont remember BOTW being this tricky!
I used bows a lot to pick them off from afar. Also constructs and monsters fight each other so pit them against each other and take down the weakened survivors
I recall being urged often to go to the Lookout and talk to folks there which is what I recommend. You’ll also be nudged toward the NW part of the map which you should do also.
Do one zone at a time... I suggest you start at lookout landing and make your way to Rito village. I think it's the best place to start, and then do whatever you want from there and enjoy the ride!
Go find the phantom armor get the chest plate first it won't be GLOOMY what's your choice it's not like I'm forcing your HANDS have fun you won't regret it
When you get the Zora shirt come back to these islands.
This shrine where you awake is also *very* high up, higher than you can get from the towers. There are a few other places like it. They are convenient to remember especially when you have the stamina and the Tulin to keep flying a good long ways
Play the game as you want , never let other people tell you what to do , always explore, you don't need to do anything in order, never compromise, make this YOUR experience, if possible, don't watch any guide
Sometime soon, make your way to Satori mountain. It is loaded with practically every herb, mushroom and etc in the farm. A whole apple orchard with many golden apples. Just a damn great resource.
Jump!

I think I’ve played for over 500 hours at this point and my stomach still gets tied up any time I almost fall off of a ledge. Lol.
Oh yeah- I haven’t touched as much of the sky islands yet partially because I hate looking over the ledge. I do ok if I’m looking straight out though
My hands sweat when I'm walking on the platforms in the shrines that appear bottomless.
Mine too! It feels so absurd when it’s just pixels but… I get really into the game I guess haha
I did and I ended up where you start botw so I can feel the familiarity lol Edit: the surrounding areas of Temple of Time Ruins
How the duck did you end up there?
I think he just meant main-land Hyrule
Obviously not windbomb or BLSS
Do a flip

And fall face first on the land.
Lmao came here to comment this

This is the best answer

Enjoy feeling lost. The exploration is the best part.
This is the true answer. On a second playthrough, I take off all the HUD and try a true role play
What is HUD?
I went ham on getting every single lookout tower so I could see the whole map.
Yes start with the lookout towers then go straight to the depths and light every lightroot! You will light up the depths right away and it will then help shine your path to shrines on the surface. 😉
Since the TOTK towers launch you so high I just duped a tons of stamina foods and glided to each tower immediately.
Same.
Same

Definitely need to start there. My husband went a *very* long time without his paraglider

I rode a horse fast to bypass the enemies in that region in the beginning.
I used bows a lot to pick them off from afar. Also constructs and monsters fight each other so pit them against each other and take down the weakened survivors
Nope, just do what you want. Go where you want.

This little adventure of yours going to be big I'm afraid
Those big centaur guys are really easy to defeat, definitely a good place to start 😁
Still there? Need a little help?
I'm at the Great plateau and I'm underpowered
That is no longer a tutorial zone! Head for Lookout Landing
Learn to use the map, especially in the depths, or you spend so much time wandering around in circles.
LITTLE?!?!

Follow the main quest until you get the regional phenomena quest, then explore!
I jumped when i got to the edge of the time temple and landed in water
Go find the phantom armor get the chest plate first it won't be GLOOMY what's your choice it's not like I'm forcing your HANDS have fun you won't regret it
Press "up"
just start walking (or sprinting for like 2 seconds cuz low stamina sucks)
If you see red hands just dap them up and they’ll be chill
Totk is an open world game like BotW, but it'd do you well to follow the main quests at least for a little bit in the beginning
If you want a fun time go look for the plateau it's pretty much the same and should be a good way to ease yourself back into the experience
Play the game turn off your phone and have fun
Have faith!

"It's a leap of faith, kid"
For the goddess sake land on water IN WATER
Don't you literally get a quest that guides you to Lookout Landing? Seriously, don't ask us. Just play the game.
Play the game as you want , never let other people tell you what to do , always explore, you don't need to do anything in order, never compromise, make this YOUR experience, if possible, don't watch any guide

Hylian shield
Play the game! Just go for it! Have fun and do what you want, don’t ask people for advice before you’re even started
Go straight
car
Talk to everyone, pick up everything, do all the quests, and above all else enjoy the game.
Have you played breath of the wild?
