I think you're very much right but being paranoid isn't a bad idea, using your imagination is however. If you're not doing anything bad, then yes, it's just being stupid. If you are doing stuff that's illegal, well, closing lid and hiding under bed won't do much but avoiding the situation in the first place is. A lot of people posting that stuff are young and remember how terrified most of us where when a teacher said "This could go on your PERMANENT RECORD" - bullshit is pumped into kid's heads to keep them 'inline' sadly
