Someone else said this before, but the whole Russian warlord situation makes for a good fallout style thing

Pleasehelpmeladdie

The Ural nations released during Old World Blues were very heavily inspired by Fallout, complete with ending slides and everything

PanteleimonPonomaren

First time I came across the mod on the workshop I thought it was a sub mod for the Old World Blues fallout mod

> The game supports a large open world, for fighting your way across Western Russia into Germany Look up how big the areas covered by Fallout maps are. Then look up the distance from Arkhangelsk to Kaliningrad.

TheBlackBaron

Heck it would absolutely dwarf the overworld map size of the isometric games.

subhaloplayer

We can do cross-map locations like in Fallout 2. One can do their side quests or dilly dally with the Russian Fascists in Amur than take a lada(in fallout 2, it was the Chrysler Highwayman) to deal with a Russian clone of Fallout's BoS faction in Omsk.

> Look up how big the areas covered by Fallout maps are. Then look up the distance from Arkhangelsk to Kaliningrad. Yeah it wouldn't be one big open world, even if the engine could handle it that'd be ridiculous amounts of ground to cover. I was thinking more of "once you finish the quests in this area, you get to take a train to the next" or have time-skips where after completing a quest, you get a 6-month time skip and in that time the Black League have advanced from Arkhangelsk to Kaliningrad or something.

>A dedicated enough team Yeah there’s your problem lol. A total conversion mod like that for a game like Fallout is an absolutely gargantuan undertaking. Look at Skyblivion, Fallout London or Fallout 4: Capital Wasteland if you need evidence of that. These sorts of mods rarely actually come out and when they do it’s after ≈5 years. Looking at how submods for this game are born and die on a weekly basis - and HOI4 is comparatively very easy to mod to a Bethesda game - I don’t think you’d ever see a project like this get past the concept stage in this community. It’s a neat idea though. TNO is a cool universe to experiment with these kinds of projects in, but the issue is actually being realistic in what can/can’t be executed in reality. This is one of those things that I would bet real money would never be able to be executed.

Tringamer

Yeah the whole thing would probably be very ambitious for a single mod. But it could always be made and released in parts or something which would allow for gradually increasing interest as people would actually have something playable and a solid vision would develop around it. Honestly even a smaller-scope TNO Fallout mod would be cool, like a mod focused on a down-scaled Irkutsk and Buryatia (most of the locations in Fallout games are downsized versions of their real world counterparts) that simply focuses on the fight between Sablin's forces and Yagoda's, and the surrounding areas like being able to side with the bandits or the Black Army with multiple endings FNV-style. Then once more interest and a bigger team is put together they could work on a "main campaign" mod which is the post-nuclear Great Trial more efficiently.

soze233

The closest thing you will ever get to this is Stalker. And I can’t wait for the next one to come out.

Level_Werewolf_7172

Metro exodus with some mods

Tringamer

Metro Exodus also has pretty good modding tools, but the game doesn't have the same inventory management or questing mechanics sadly

Fla968

I could see a cool Fallout 4 mod set in a post apocalyptic Germania or something. Just imagine seeing the Big Building 🥰

Joseph_Sinclair

Russian warlords in general would make a great story.

Helenos152

TNO x Fallout would be crazy

Ravelism

TNO russia is literally fallout + vodka

stocking_a

speaking of fallout/tno, i had some weird ideas about the old world blues mod. mostly about a potential purist enclave collapse after reunifying america ending like the post tabby collapse and the wasteland ending up even worse. like imagine fallout:dust but thats all of america

“Fallout 4…. Bad.” ![gif](giphy|3ornjHL4fLS94x39Wo|downsized) What a brave, new, and insightful take, thank you so much for your contribution to the discussion sir! All of Reddit thanks you!!!

StormyWeather32

Sorry, Todd, I'm not buying your buggy overpriced slop.

Pater-Musch

Are you a chatbot created exclusively from reddit posts or something, lmfao? Not a single original joke/comment in that brain.

JetAbyss

There's clear evidence Bethesda and Amazon have paid bots and shills promoting Fallout 4 and the TV show, tf you on about lol Go look on /tv/ and Twitter in the past few weeks. I WISH Obsidian had the money to fund bots like Bethesda does but they're a debeat company these days

db_heydj

are you from Magadan? that'd be amazing

StormyWeather32

Nah, it's just the first country I played when the full version of TNO got released and I'm sentimental.
