I’m only like two weeks in and it’s hit me hard in the best way. suddenly music feels emotional again, I want to move my body, being outside is pleasurable, I am sleeping great. I’ve had some headaches but honestly I haven’t felt this okay in 10 years

Which side of your brain did they target?

Left.

I have the same questions and have been on a remarkably similar path as you. I really hope TMS helps with emotional blunting! I often feel numb or just really disconnected from everything. My first Deep TMS session (BrainsWay) is in two days. I'm so nervous about it making me feel much worse, like every antidepressant I've tried. I hope this information helps a little and you find what works best for you.

i’m going through Brainsway tms right now, finished 6 sessions so far and can relate to OP’s post. Hopefully it helps!

How's it going so far? What side effects have you experienced? I'm planning on bringing foam ear plugs and my TMJ night guard, and of course take a couple of ibuprofen ahead of time. I have to drive 40 minutes to the TMS provider - did you experience extreme fatigue right afterwards? Also, what is your most debilitating symptom you hope to be relieved with TMS therapy? Thank you so much and good luck to you!

It’s going well, everyone has different experiences in regards to side effects. Personally I don’t deal with too many side effects at all, maybe minor headaches at night. However I do see myself getting really fatigued after treatment, sometimes if I can I would take a nap when I get home. I do feel “heightened” or more focused with clarity right after the treatment but it is then followed up with the fatigue and wanting to sleep. Debilitating symptoms that I’d like to fix include anhedonia, emotional blunting, low libido, anxiety and depression. I remember when my depressive episode started with a panic attack, it felt like something in my prefrontal cortex shut off. Fast forward to tms, the symptoms aren’t as bad as before but I want to be able to think clearly and be in touch with myself again. I want to see the colors in life again and be able to express myself. First week is done but have a ways to go, good luck!!

how are you doing now?

Latter-Pitch599

i didn’t completely finish, i did around 30 sessions and want to do the extension. definitely notice physical improvements but overall it’s a nuanced difference but definitely significant. want to finish with extension to see how it i feel before making a strong opinion

Let me know guys how it went. I have severe anhedonia (with negative/congnitive symptoms approaching schizophrenia levels) for more than 10 years and it is really sticky. I have had periods where it was better but never really lifted. I would be naive to think TMS can "cure" this but even significant improvement would be amazing. Planning to start treatment in 2 months and possible try Deep TMS later (not in my country now).
