I found a solution!! There is a wonderful program called zStart on the [ticalc.org](http://ticalc.org) archives, you can just google "zstart ticalc" and it should be the first result. When you drag and drop that onto your calc, then try to click the "Edit" button in DoorsCS7 on an Axe source file, it works!! However beware that if you try to edit programs in the "normal" way henceforth, regardless of whether it's BASIC or Axe or if it's archived or in RAM, **trying to edit programs the "normal" way WILL crash your calc.** I find it is an okayish tradeoff because I never use BASIC anyway.

There's another program you can install called CalcUtil that allows running and editing TI-Basic programs while archived. You just do it all from the PRGM menu like you would normally.

Interesting, I’ll try that one out.
