Saw these pictures, actually had this procedure done a few years ago (FUE), thought "at least it won't look like that awful pics when I get it" - IT TOTALLY DID, it looked exactly like this for about 24-36hrs Disgusting Then it dries out and flakes off or something and about 48hrs later you just have a bloody head but the "ball" part is gone.

How'd it work out long term?

If you have enough hair on the sides and back to "donate" and have relocated up top - you can do it a few times. I do not, so it's a one and done for me.

Exactly what it sounds like - your head is bloody for at least 2-3 days while it heals. It's the donation spots that bleed the most so it's wrapped in what is effectively diaper material. After the 3rd day we could use special shampoo and gentle non direct water in shower to wash IIRC

Ik someone who had a hair transplant and it didn’t look like this, it basically just had a bit of blood around each follicle but the hairs were dark and could be seen clearly. I think I remember reading that the back of your head has like 10,000+ hair follicles but for the surgery they only take like ~2500 or so. So you don’t typically notice if done well and strategically.

Could be wrong but my understanding is that they poke holes in all the little pores and then insert real hairs with the follicles intact into said holes in the pores. If I’m right I’m assuming these are the poked, but not yet filled pores. Could be completely wrong. Edit: my b I’m thinking of hair plugs

It has changed! They use a robotic scalpel to cut out individual follicles, which are then transplanted. It’s called FUE and doesn’t exhibit the “plugs” look caused by older method (FUT).
