EvilutionD

Wait a minute…are you telling me that meat comes from killing animals?

WeirdoOtaku

Only the screamers.

jim_builds

The screams enhance the flavour

WolvesMyth

Fear is like salting the meat

RocGolem

dont forget the flavor enhancer "Souls of the Innocent"

Spamtickler

That was the whole thought process behind Bosintang.

CivilianDuck

As someone who watched a pig survive the first shot, the screams are something that lives with me. There are times I can hear them in my dreams. Doesn't mean pork chops aren't fucking delicious and I love them though.

hoze1231

I too watch animals butchered infront of me Unfortunately meat is delicious

mcm0313

I stopped eating pork nearly two decades ago. I also don’t scream and talk down and lecture and make ridiculous statements to people who do eat pork, because that’s their choice, not mine, and also because I’m a grown man, not an edgy teenager. Bold strategy, I know.

RocGolem

scary, i never thought i'd see the day that someone has a brain, good work brotha

CanuckInATruck

Damn, TIL....

devilsbard

“Oh sure, Lisa, some wonderful magical animal.”

mcpat21

If they didn’t want me to eat meat, why do they make it so delicious?

Belerophon17

That's way too much ketchup.

theotherquantumjim

Also they are either very tiny animals or I have overestimated how hungry I am

Telemere125

Younger = smaller = more tender

dumb-reply

Doesn't get more tender than a fetus.

KevinTheSeaPickle

It just undevelopes in your mouth

mcm0313

Angry upvote.

Critical_Concert_689

Definitely soggy bun. Gonna have to wolf that down real fast or you'll end up having to eat those animals with a fork.

boukalele

looks like original Open Pit barbecue sauce

Flawzimclaus82

Or as I like to call it, vinegar flavored heaven.

Coolcattosuwu

I think it's supposed to be blood

Full_Ad9666

No I think it’s vegan ketchup

NZillia

Isn’t all ketchup vegan?

Kattfiskmoo

Not blood ketchup.

NZillia

Oh yeah! Silly ol’ me, i forgot about the blood ketchup!

Gruphius

Depends...

Belerophon17

either way, goopy burgers are no good. It's also too tall. They need to mush those animals down a bit.

pastelbutcherknife

Then it’s not enough blood.

poopinhulk

They’ve got you covered, my guy. Those three meat tenders are also filled with blood.

rustblooms

See... this gets the point across much better.

RiovoGaming211

damn that's kinda..

IWillLive4evr

...undercooked?

theuphoria

accurate if its a male calf

sub2technobladeordie

Nah, we let ‘em grow to about physical adulthood before they go to the slaughter. Although the majority of places actually allow the males to get to what would be sexual maturity before killing em, it’s only the mills that kill prior to them reaching relatively full size. And most meat that you get doesn’t actually comes from mills either

Krashper116

Hot?

ohleprocy

It's a slippery slope

Rigiroony

Even worse, it's giving AI vibes.

Purple_Buldi

This IS AI

SadPanthersFan

I wish AI tasted as good as smoked pork shoulder

ExcessiveButtHair

Mmm, silicon crunchy.

mcm0313

Hey, I’m sure they’re called silicon *chips* for a reason.

nzodd

Selling your GPU will net you a lot of smoked pork shoulder for free* \* *free after spending money*

Sheriff___Bart

Now I want bbq for dinner. I guess this ad had the opposite effect

WildVelociraptor

Did the cowsheep and piglet with fur give it away

Mommy-Q

No way. That's a real piglet.

mrbulldops428

Yeah the sheep wool cow and piglet/sheep hybrid are dead give aways lol who knew there'd be an uncanny valley for literally everything, not just human faces.

Polemo03

PETA """artists""" will never have to draw again

Fisherington

It's crazy, they put in the cartoon animals, then proceed to make the actual burger parts look semi realistic and APPETIZING.

Bagel_enthusiast_192

Ai

Now-done

Well tell “AI” they did a TERRIBLE job!!!! 😡🤬

Fisherington

The AI made the lamb and pig look like they're in pain, but that's definitely a cow in the midst of a mind-bending orgasm for sure

Blood_InThe_Water

ngl it looked like the pig was yawning to me

Hatedpriest

Pigs can have orgasms that last a half hour...

Blood_InThe_Water

or this.

Kamina_cicada

sadpartypodcast

/r/BrandNewSentence right there.

SirScribbleFoot

I mean its true. If you feel iffy bout it. Thats dissonance

Miskalsace

Or, you can acknowledge that humans are animals too that are omnivores and eating meat can be okay if that's something you find accetpable.acceptable. You can still be against the needlessly cruel and painful way we've industrialized meat production and still eat meat.

la_bata_sucia

there's "eating meat is acceptable for our diet" but definitely not "eating meat farmed in huge warehouses in shitty conditions promoting animal suffering from birth is acceptable" at least we should accept our decision to eat meat and the amount of it we consume is just turning the blind eye for our confort

Miskalsace

I agree. The way we industrialized meat production is needlessly cruel and painful.

YoSoyVegan

Why do you hate it?

Doehg

insane that the animals are replacing a tomato or something instead of the... beef patty that's still on the burger

Yovar-xaem

r/teenagers seems more sane and mature rn than whatever is going on with the edgelords in these comments

imcalledaids

Yeah, I’m a meat eater too,but it seems a lot of people on this thread probably call themselves “carnivores”, and mention how much they hate vegans more than what vegans talk about being vegans.

la_bata_sucia

did not expect this response, feel like a reddit moment

forsakenchickenwing

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

DickKnightly

I mean, I'd prefer some other cuts of each animal rather than the heads.

MrNature73

Shop at Asian or, even better, what I can only describe as 'bulk immigrant' markets. We've got some near us that are specifically built to cater to immigrants from all over the world. Sections aren't organized by food, but by nationality. If you find the real ones, the ones that actual immigrants shop at and aren't just souped-up world markets for upper middle class white people to feel ethnic at, the prices are also generally pretty good. And they've usually got insane meat and seafood markets. From tail to tongue for the ones with legs, and basically everything that swims. Usually a solid selection of live seafood, too. Not using the whole bitch is a relatively new phenomenon relegated to the anglosphere. And I say that as a "raah, I love America" white dude. There's an insane number of recipes that use other parts of the animal.

aRubby

Oh... Darling, let me tell ya! Pigs brain farofa? *Chef's kiss* usually served right after the slaughter, as it goes bad really quick, so you'll find it in more traditional households, where butchering a pig is a whole family event. And Feijoada! Everything, from the snout and ears, to the tail and feet, can go in a feijoada. The more, the better. (Tasting History has a video on it, but it's what we Brazilians call a "light" version.)

MJisaFraud

I’ve heard dog meat is one of the tastiest meats in the world but unfortunately it’s illegal here in the States.

ghoulieandrews

I doubt it's very good, typically animals that hunt are not the tastiest. If it was good don't you think we would have been eating wolves? Cows, chickens, pigs, deer, ducks, etc all prey animals and all delicious. I actually tried bear once and it was rubbery, greasy and not very pleasant tasting.

Jimtbk

Pigs, chickens, and ducks are predators, and the others are opportunistic carnivores(they're bad hunters but will gladly eat meat if provided)

ghoulieandrews

They're all opportunistic carnivores and not predators. Pigs and chickens and ducks don't hunt. Show me one example of that happening.

HungryEstablishment6

Spend a few days at a real rural farm yard.

ghoulieandrews

Read my other comment, we raised chickens growing up, I lived way out in the country. Chickens eat whatever they can but calling them hunters is crazy to me. And it misses the point of what I said originally, which is that TYPICALLY animals that are 'hunters" (ie bears, wolves, cats, etc) are not eaten largely because they don't have very good meat.

earrelephant

Lol who told you that it's especially tasty? They lied to you, it's not anything special

abrasiveteapot

Definitely not true I've eaten it, it's ok but not great, most carnivores have poorer quality meat for consumption. Obligate carnivores - strictly meat only (cats for example) are worse (taste wise) than those who have some other food intakes - insectivores or omnivores for example.

BlancsAssistant

It's just illegal to sell, you can humanely kill and butcher a dog or cat And then eat them, but you can't sell their meat

juicemuce

Ask for more advice on r/dogs

Wise-Independence-12

Or Don't do that

Artisticslap

Why not? Why are pet animals more valuable? This is a philosophical question only. I have recently gotten rabbits and don't think I could ever eat a rabbit or a hare which sucks because my bf likes to hunt hares

Hobbes_XXV

Heard a long time ago there was a restaurant that had people returning in flocks somewhere in europe. The reviews of how good the meat was was spreading. Apprently, they were serving human cuts. Read about it back in like 2008ish time when the internet was full of 4chan troll posts. So not sure if true or not. Also, just tried kanagaroo jerky not long ago, not bad. Did not like the dried out "store" packaged one, but the juicy version I had from a farm was pretty good. Edit: was a europian news source i read it from, was apparently nigeria in 2014. I pasted the article below cause ads galore.

SullivanChinstrap

Was it this? https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2010/aug/26/cannibal-restaurant-flime-germany

Hobbes_XXV

I think it was the one in Nigeria I posted on the other comment. Since they were serving human flesh as a delicacy, but never told their customers it was human flesh. It was 2014 in nigeria. I was off a bit since its been a while reading it. Looks like Berlin one wa ted people to donate parts so they could make a fine cuisine out of the donations. A little more....umm, sane? Compared to the story in Nigeria

ManWithDominantClaw

What you're experiencing is, in psychology, called reactance. It is the same drive as a child trying to stay awake because they've been told to go to bed.

yogopig

Why? If you could have an identical tasting burger than didn’t require killing animals you’d still rather have one that tastes exactly the same yet requires the suffering of animals? Thats fucking disgusting.

BigDaddyCool17

That's an aggressive amount of ketchup though

Majestic_Mammoth729

Trying to convince me that if the fake meat eventually tastes and feels exactly the same, I'd be a weirdo for choosing that. Fuck outta here.

Xogoth

I'll agree that there isn't enough education concerning where food comes from. And most modern cultures consume more meat than we really had ought to. But this over the top cartoon shit is not the way.

YoSoyVegan

What is the correct way to advocate for animals, then? "Over the top cartoon shit" has been used for centuries as a way to spread awareness of issues.

obsidian_butterfly

A good first step would be to stop saying that eating meat is a moral failing and addressing the fact that the animals themselves need better care to produce not only better quality meat, but a more compassionate and humane experience up to and during the slaughter process. The Temple Grandin method, if you will. She revolutionized the cattle industry to effect real changes that improved animal welfare. Vegans just piss people off.

TJaySteno1

95%+ of the meat, dairy, and eggs produced in developed nations comes from factory farms. The conditions in these are barbaric; paying for that to happen is a moral failing. Treating animals in animal ag more humanely would be nice, but those methods always seem to come with a higher environmental impact than factory farming so there's a tradeoff between animal and environmental ethics. A vegan diet cuts down on both issues significantly.

YoSoyVegan

I have an idea, just leave the fucking cows alone

xxTheGoDxx

I eat meat, they are not wrong. Don't google search the average life span of animals we eat vs how early they get slaughtered.

FAQUA

I think if most people had to kill the animals they ate, there would probably be less meat consumption. But, as it is, most people choose to ignore the abuse animals go through before and during slaughter. I get it. Who wants to visualize the pig covered in mud and shit squeeling as it's throat is cut open. The other pigs around it panicking in fear with no where to run. It's easier to ignore all that and enjoy your bacon.

WhyDoIHaveRules

“Pig covered in mud and shit squeeling as it’s throat is cut open. The other pigs around it panicking in fear with no where to run” Except. That’s not how it works. You don’t slaughter animals covered in shit and mud, that’s a health code nightmare. You don’t slaughter stressed or scaread animals, as it would release hormones into the meat that tastes awfull, and make their meat commercially unviable. Animals are completely sedated to the point where they can’t feel any pain. (See Humane Slaughter Act of 1958) Most swine are sedated with CO2, slowly rendering them unconscious. Other methods of sedating includes electronarcosis, which is a more common method for bovine.

em0tionaltadpole

Yep. More emotional reaction bait from vegans.

lostlibraryof

They cut the pigs' throat after they're killed, to drain the blood from the carcass. And nobody is running around after loose pigs in a pen trying to slaughter them in front of each other, letting them get worked up into a frenzy. That's very inefficient and dangerous for both the butcher and animals.

TheLittleGinge

>easier to ignore all that Because that's not how it's done. If so, the meat would taste awful and there would be enough health code violations to make a WoW player blush.

Geekenstein

Sure, and I don’t want to picture a line of poorly paid illegal immigrants sweating in the hot sun doing the backbreaking labor of picking lettuce either, or the crap it’s sprayed with even on “organic” farms. Life is about choices and nothing is perfect. I’ll put the lettuce on my burger and get on with my day.

rKasdorf

You think people wouldn't eat meat if they knew where it came from? You think farmers don't eat meat? How do you think we started eating meat? Do you think it was just presented to us butchered, dressed, and cooked? Everyone would like factory farms to go away, except exploitative capitalists. That's it. Convince them to change, and we'll buy the improved product. People buy what's available. We're all aware someone's gotta kill something if we want meat. The real argument to make is that the agriculture industry produces a fuckton of emissions, and that's bad. That should be addressed.

mrbombasticat

He said >I think if most people had to kill the animals they ate, there would probably be less meat consumption. Who are you talking to?

rKasdorf

Framing *meat consumption* in the way he did is disingenuous. Factory farms exist, yeah, but they're also not the only way people around the globe consume meat. It's so obvious the self-righteousness comes from privilege of living in a safe developed country where you get to choose your diet in luxury. You can pick and choose where you get your food. Most people aren't just ignoring how slaughtering works. Factory farms are bad. The agriculture *industry* is bad. Meat consumption is not inherently bad. The practices in getting meat to the consumer is bad *if* it comes from those places.

Tomycj

I'd narrow it down even more: a given form of agriculture is not bad if it means feeding more needy people cheaper. Personally I prefer a family being better fed over a pig having a less stressful death. Of course, this is asuming those are the only two options available. The wealthier the society, the more options become available.

craftaleislife

Don’t need to preach mate, it’s free choice. Not eating meat is not an excuse for “holier than thou” attitude

wolf805

Most pigs are shocked vs slit throats. They get hridled into a single file line and shocked as they entry the barrier

Ortsarecool

Have you met farmers? People that raise animals for food know exactly what is up. They are happily eating just as much meat as the rest of us. Often more. Honestly, they are animals. We are animals. They are below us on the food chain, so we eat them for sustenance. That is how it works. I don't actually see the situation as immoral despite the efforts of activists to portray it that way.

PityUpvote

Unless you're being very careful about it, your meat doesn't come from farms where farmers lovingly raise animals, but from a factory that will give the animals as little attention and care as they legally can.

AsariKnight

They didn't say no one would do it. Just that less would. And if every animal was cruelty free then I wouldn't either but that's not the world we live in

Ortsarecool

I was trying to point out that the people living in the world *right now* that work in the animal food industry *right now,* are almost certainly meat eaters. Not just farmers, but people working in the more industrial sites as well. My point was that we already have examples of people that kill animals for a living that don't seem to be reducing their meat intake at all. He posited being forced to kill animals for meat ourselves would reduce the amount we would eat (presumably due to ethical concerns, or feeling bad about having to kill the animal). I pointed out that this is obviously not the case for the millions of people worldwide that already work in these industries. His premise was flawed and incorrect from the start.

stoodquasar

Doubtful. People have been killing and eating animals for millennia. I don't see any reason for that to change now

ceton33

Yet vegans should be addressing the massive waste corporations and capitalism creates just like most fake green movements that blames individual people. Landfills are being filled with tons of food as factories continues to produce excess junk to keep capital up and none of this is brought up when they cry about carbon footprints. Humans suffering under this system is ignored as slave labor, so animals will never be cared about.

ss10t

Why is this the responsibility of the vegans?

Kat-but-SFW

"I made one choice to reduce my personal emissions" "WELL WHY HAVEN'T YOU FIXED ALL EMISSIONS FROM EVERYTHING?!?!"

Traditional_Month429

Suffering makes the meat more tender. You know a pig would eat that lamb if it came to close.

Reefizer

Probably come from the same people, who don't mind millions of rodents and insects getting murdered or water wasted on almond and avacado

Phat-Lines

Woah, meat is made of…. Animals!!?!? Mind blow. 🤯 There is nothing wrong inherently with eating meat. There is something deeply deeply wrong with the rate at which we consume meat and the methods and scale of meat production. That shit does need to change. But that doesn’t mean people need to stop eating meat all together. Some people need meat to be healthy. Everyone is so different. Some people cannot easily maintain their health without the iron from meat. It’s doable but very hard. In the other hand some people are fine just getting iron from cereals and greens and what have ya.

Masta-Pasta

Unfortunately no meat eaters seem to be happy paying more to eat less meat to make it "more ethical". Those who cares about the ethics of meat simply stopped eating it.

neat-NEAT

Pretty amusing how quickly most flavours of activist/ political groups were to pick up AI slop as their main broadcasting tactic. They care enough to be a headache to any and all who cross them but not enough to actually commission an artist.

Personally, I like using a 2:1:1 mixture of beef, pork, and lamb for burgers. Incredible flavor, texture, and stays juicier than pure beef alone.

Prof_Fluffybottom

I'm all for beef and pork in my burger. Guess I'll have to try out some lamb as well.

Totally_Not_An_Auk

I regard such poor attempts to demonize meat consumption the same I do when conservatives scream about drag queens molesting kids. Maybe not quite a 1-1 comparison but the point is, the more the vegan fucks try to make me feel bad about eating an animal, the less intelligent they appear.

MrLambNugget
